Of Books and Covers:
Born to a sun elf warrior mage and a moon elf wizardess, Isandril -or Sand to his friends- is a noble-born scion of House Velahrn, a clan known for its members' talent for combining sword and spell. Possessed of an open mind, an adventurous nature and more than a little wanderlust, it is only to be expected that he has time and again gotten himself into trouble, though nothing too serious, much to his father's chagrin and his mother's amusement.

Standing just over five feet and ten inches tall and possessed of a slim but athletic build, Isandril is quick and agile and moves with the grace that is characteristic of his people. Handsome with fair skin and pale silvery-gold hair that reaches down to his shoulders, he combines traits from both sides of his ancestry. However, his eyes are probably his most prominent feature. Although not unheard of, they are uncommon even for one of his race; reminiscent of a moon elf's eyes but not quite the same, they are a vibrant violet color with what can best be described as golden flecks speckled through them.

The elven mage shows a preference for comfortable fitted clothing of good craftsmanship and elven design, more often than not complemented with a hooded cloak fastened in place with an ornate clearly dwarven-made clasp, and he is almost never seen without an elven-crafted sword with a slender straight blade resting in a fine scabbard by his left hip and a pouch of spell components hanging from his belt by his right, right next to a sheathed curved dagger.

An adventurer at heart and a curious one at that, even if this latter trait does result in his getting somewhat easily bored on occasion, Isandril goes where his heart -and sometimes spur of the moment- takes him, especially if the destination promises interesting finds, high adventure and the chance to hone his skills with both sword and spell. Friendly and kind, Sand enjoys the company of others, especially those he considers friends, and is quick to smile and joke. Almost as quick as he is to rise to the defense of such friends or simply those unable to fend for themselves. Not one to start a fight, the aspiring bladesinger will even try to defuse a situation before it gets too far, but if required he will not hesitate to use both spell and sword to defend himself.
