First of all: Thanks Teridax and QuidEst! I have listened to your feedback and adopted some ideas into the syphoner!

And so, I had made some development! All information is in the Syphoner Class: Class Feature https://www.reddit.com/r/Pathfinder2eCreations/comments/1m3js85/syphoner_ci pher_class_class_features
(i still don't know how to make it a linked markdown lol)

I share my progress with the base class features, and a couple of class feats. But I still need to determined the initial proficiencies, correct some extra class feats aswell as adjust the syphoner focus spells. As the base class is here, its focus spells need an adjustment! Specifically, its tie trait is gone! Now is an action!

Any commnet or feedback would be highly appreciated!

We also really need a way to categorize classes. I understand Paizo not wanting to do so, maybe to not constraint the design, but for new players or even just veteran ones having a quick reminder of what a class is good at would enhanced the decision making.

Something like a "caster" tag and a "martial" tag would suffice in AoN class section. Though to really ease this burden classes would need more than just 1 tag. My favorite examople is from the Pillars of Eternity: Deadfire. There were only like 12 classes but each one already have a primary "role" and a secondary one, allowing for anyone a reminder on where that class shines the most. They were: "damage", "tank", "support", and "control".

I have a hard time figuring whether the commander really makes a difference in a team, instead of, say, a bard (I know they have little in common rules-wise but they're both considered enablers for the other players).

Commander was already quite good on playtest, thats why Paizo decided to pulish it rather than changing it (as opposed to the Guardian). And it is strong, but relies heavily on your party comp.

I'm playing 2 Commanders, one of them has more casters on their party, a Cleric. In that campaign we tend to go against undead quite often, and take heavy damage. With the Gather to Me! tactic I can move all my squadmates in position for 1 action, and in the Cleric turn he can use the 3 action Healing to demolish all undead while healing us. And I still have 2 actions to spare.

So yeah, it is quite impactful. But it heavily depends on your party composition when it regards to tactics.

First of all, thank you Maya!

Second of all, ill clarify and revisit the text (specially the Tie trait) as it is kinda cumbersome as it stands lol.

Second of all, and before I share the core class features, I want to give some insights on the direction of this class:
- Of course, this is heavily inspired by the Cipher class from the Pillars of Eternity games. But the more I went into development the more I shifted the focus onto an "absorbing & releasing of power" fantasy. This is due to not conflict with the existing Psychic class concept, and to give a class that I think we do not have on the game yet.
- As stated above, the class would have 2 main features: acquiring focus points (through Strikes primarily) and a way to release them (beyond using focus spells). This can be challenging to balance, specially as there are no ways to get focus points in the middle of combat this early and in this way (to my knowledge).
- I said is a gish, and by that I mean that it would be a "martial class". At the start I tinker with being a new bounded caster, but access to a spell list doesn't follow the core theme of the class of absorbing and releasing energy. So it's magic potential would be focused on the use of focus points primarily.

I already have all the class features, I need to tweak them before sharing the first draft. And I'm already tinkering with some class feats too! (Spoiler: you can have a familiar).

If you want to follow the project, stay put to any further posts here and on reddit!

This past year I been working on porting the Cipher class from pillars of eternity, lately i'd been focusing on porting their uniques abilities (specifically from the Deadfire sequel) and so here it is!

Essentially, I want the class to be a gish. Focused on generating focus points through dealing damage (as the original class fantasy is). And to use that focus points the syphoner needs spells to use them: about Striking, Controlling, but all of them targeting others to buff allies, debuff enemies, or both.

I don't think is wise to copy and paste every spell made or to copy and paste the post on reddit I'd made. So i'll link it here:

If you have any advice on any regard I would appreciated!
