Hi there! I'm a 42 yr old long time player/GM looking to either join a current group or form a new one with some interested, mature gamers. I'm interested in D&D 1st-3.5 Editions, Pathfinder, Conan, and The Black Company. My schedule is very flexible and I'm open to live or online sessions. I am a complete novice at online games, though and would need help getting set-up. Please drop me a PM if you have a group with openings or would be interested in forming one with me. Thanks for your time.
I'm an old hanger-on who first got his start in '83. After years away from the game in my twenties and early thirties, I've been drawn back to gaming by the quality of Paizo's Pathfinder line. I'd really just written myself off as a gamer and was just buying products for inspiration for my writing, but Pathfinder has changed that and I find myself looking for some mature gamers in the Philipsburg/ central PA area. Are there any players out there looking for a GM? Or, even a group just looking to pick up another player? Please drop me a line if either of these describes your current situation. Thanks for reading.

Gatehouse isn't as good as Ye Olde Hobby Shop used to be, but it does have a nice selection of products. I'm still looking for a group, either an established one or one we can put together. Please post here or drop me a note via PM if you're interested, folks.
As a recent returnee to the world of miniature painting, and one with the human equivalent of a bear's paws to boot, I really appreciate what you've done with these figures, Daniel. I'm familiar with several of those minis and the mods you've done are very nice and have inspired me to try my hand at it. Thanks for sharing them.
I'd throw these in for consideration, despite some being series or min-series rather than regular films: Rob Roy (I challenge you to watch this and not hate Tim Roth)
Wow! I always check in on a thread when I see a discussion of Erikson's work and this is the first time I have ever read a review that matches my own opinions so completely. I'd think that you stole it whole and complete right out of my head, but I couldn't sum it up so neatly even in there, Werthead :D You've done an excellent job here. Despite his flaws, Erikson has become my favorite fantasy author and one thing that people do seem to overlook, or maybe it's not true for them, is that he is able to bring a sense of loss into his stories. Not every time, no; but, I'd challenge anyone to point out a more moving moment in any fantasy series than Coltaine's end. Those kind of moments aren't common, but they do pop up in these books more often than in any other that comes to mind for me. Anyway, it's nice to see a good discussion like this for a change. I'm new here, but things like this are making me love the Paizo forums.

#3 was my first issue and I have to admit, I had my doubts before I sprang for my subscription, but I was jonesing for my gaming mag fix pretty bad after the demise of Dragon. I am SO glad that I subscribed. How often have we long time gamers heard someone complain about not being able to recapture the magic we felt when gaming was new for us? For the first time in a long time, maybe ever, I felt that spark again as I read through the first issue of KQ I received. I felt like I had stepped back in time to the early 80s and was reading one of the old issues of Dragon. It's so nice not to have to sift through all the commercialism and pre-packaged campaign settings and just be able to enjoy the magazine. Thank you for putting out such a great product. |
