Verdant Wheel

Thank you for running, Dennis! It was fun finally get to play a quest!
Swamp Lore: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Verdant Wheel

After offering Jelly a casting of Water Water if they want it, Nish and Santiago dive beneath the surface and guide a crate towards shore from underneath.
Swim speed again, but if you need a check this time:

Nish Athletics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Santiago Athletics Aid Another: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26

Verdant Wheel

Someone with more strength than I can load these, yes? Nish pockets the documents, then watches the movements of the nearest undead off the other side of the ship, occasionally glancing down at Santiago to see if he's behaving as though anything's afoot off the stern.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23

Verdant Wheel

Nish instructs Santiago to wait in the water and keep an eye out of trouble. He hovers just below the surface with only his eyes and nostrils poking out.

Meanwhile, she climbs aboard the ship and begins searching for the crates. Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31

Verdant Wheel

Yeah, Quests and Bounties still have hero points. That's pretty much the only thing Bounties have

Verdant Wheel

Santiago sees water and picks up his pace to enter it. Nish starts to trot after him, then remembers that she's traveling with people who aren't wetlander iruxi.
Oh! Santiago and I can swim, but I prepared one Water Walk if any of you need help getting there or back. Unless we expect our time on the ship to be very short, perhaps best to save for an emergency, yes?

Nish has a 15 ft swim speed, so she doesn't need to roll Athletics to swim at that speed unless you rule that this situation requires it.
Athletics just in case: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
She also has Breath Control (can hold her breath for 25x longer).

Santiago will swim alongside Nish once she heads out. He has a 25 ft swim speed and can hold his breath for two hours.
Athletics just in case: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16

Verdant Wheel

Nish will participate if a "good cop" is needed, but would prefer to spend her time praising Santiago right now.

Verdant Wheel

Nish breathes out a sigh of relief. While Upuaut treats the gnome, she checks on the plants in the area and Creates Water to put out any fires and remoisten the soil given that this region isn't likely to have a fire-based ecology. After feeding Santiago a lesser healing potion, she sits next to Upuaut in the wagon and joins him in Refocusing, paying no mind to the one HP she's down, calmly stroking the gator in her lap as she does so. Santiago raises his head for chin scritches and peacefully settles down.
potion: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (5, 4) + 5 = 14
I healed Santiago for 10 earlier, so he should only be down 5 prior to this.

Verdant Wheel

I've run this before, so I can answer re:undergrowth. Yes, the forest is difficult terrain and provides cover.

Verdant Wheel

Nish hears the rustling of leaves just in time to jump to the side. Frustrated at the gnome's ability to disappear in front of their eyes and dodge the spells that don't require seeing her, she decides that the more allies attempting to hit her, the better.
Santiago, heel! Give Santiago 2 actions
She casts her focus spell as the alligator walks up to her.
Heal Animal, 1-action, heightened +1: 2d8 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10
Santiago runs up, not seeming to care about the brush in his face as he lurches where his friend's attacker disappeared.
jaws: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20, if hits damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Edit: Oops, third action for Nish, she swipes at the square herself
claws: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16, if hits damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Verdant Wheel

Nish breathes a sigh of relief. Thank you, friend. This Aspis agent is skilled at hiding, yes? Perhaps I can flush or hinder her. Santiago, stay back, she instructs the injured alligator.
Nish wades into the woods and spews icy shards into the brush, careful to aim just low enough to hit a gnome's head so the more tender foliage of the groundcover is spared from the frost.
Chilling Shards Reflex DC 19: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5 cold damage

Spell text:
15 ft cone
Critical Success The creature is unaffected.
Success The creature takes half damage.
Failure The creature takes full damage and takes a –5-foot status penalty to its Speeds for 2 rounds.
Critical Failure The creature takes double damage and takes a –10-foot status penalty to its Speeds for 2 rounds.

Wrong gnome damage copied

Verdant Wheel

I have 7 more damage on me from that last kukri swipe, right?

Verdant Wheel

Argh, this would've been a prime opportunity to try to get my gator to do his support action and latch onto her so he was dragged along! Oh well, someday. :)

Verdant Wheel

1N) Give Santiago two actions
1S) Santiago attacks twice (I'm assuming no flank bonuses)
jaws: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14 if hits, damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
jaws: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 if hits, damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
2&3N) Cast Shocking Grasp on the gnome
spell attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 if hits, damage: 2d12 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10
If she's wearing metal armor, +1 to attack and 1d4 persistent electricity

Verdant Wheel

1 person marked this as a favorite.

AC 16, 17 when I have my shield raised, so I've taken 19 damage out of max 38.

Verdant Wheel

Seeing her companion taking so much damage in one turn, Nish steps forward to make herself another target or, if lucky, take him out.
1N) Give 2 actions to Santiago
2N) Stride up to remaining bandit
3N) Slash bandit
claws: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13, if hits 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 damage
1S) Santiago bites the man in front of him
jaws: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22, if hits 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 damage
2S) Santiago hisses in annoyance and clamps down again.
jaws: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16, if hits 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 damage

Verdant Wheel

1N) Give Santiago two actions
1S) Santiago Strides up to #3
2S) Santiago jaws: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22, if hit damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
2&3N) Cast Entangle (Reflex DC 19)

(Santiago's AC is 17, HP 30)

Verdant Wheel

You have?, Nish blinks in surprise, then shrugs. I suppose it makes sense to keep up with other iruxi Pathfinders since there aren't many of us yet. Well met to you as well, yes.

Verdant Wheel

As you all head toward the door, it suddenly opens and another iruxi, this one with colorful scales in shades of green and blue, walks in, seemingly unaware of the water and mud she's dripping and tracking onto the floor. She's a bit preoccupied trying to soothe a small and clearly upset alligator attempted to thrash out of her grasp.

This is where the Pathfinders are meeting, yes? she asks in a sibilant voice, Apologies for my tardiness. I'm Inishilatīti—you can just call me Nish—and this is Santiago," she indicates the gator she's just dropped unceremoniously on the floor. We would have been here sooner, but someone," she glares at him, decided he needed to make a new burrow in the duck pond outside town and had to be dragged out of it hissing and grunting." Santiago responds by opening his mouth and backing out the door.

Nish looks around at the group, "If everyone else has already been briefed, you can just catch me up en route."
