that as a grimoire Blaze is only really helpful to prepared casters Yes, I can't scribe spells into it, but its activated abilities are all very cool, like ignoring 10 fire resistance or adding persistent fire damage as a reaction. I could also find creative uses for its heat sense and fire lore.
Yujin pets the tome gingerly. "Oh I like you too. Not many address me as dragon although they should. Come with me, Blaze, and together we will set the world aflame in our wake." Yujin loosens her belt and tucks the tome snuggly against her hip.
As Yujin glances at the options of rooms to investigate she takes note of the numerous grates on the ground similar to the one that the mezlan escaped through and points them out to her allies. "It is likely that this Niesha can use these grates to travel. Until she is dealt with, we should assume that our conversations are being overheard and that we must keep our backs guarded." Yujin asks Blaze, "Tell me, little one, did your captor give off heat that your senses are able to perceive?"
Yujin is disappointed by the lack of ignition. "There's more than one way to burn my foes."
Yujin activates her incendiary aura then shoves another fireball at her enemy. ◆◆Incendiary Aura
"Let's hope her magma-like appearance is just for show because I'm going to see if she can burn." Yujin runs through Janna's tesseract tunnel and keeps running until she is in front of the enemy. Then she activates flaming fusillade and surrounds herself in a swirling circle of miniature suns. She snatches one of these orbs with her bare hand and shoves it into the librarian's face.

Yujin shrugs. "I can't see anything in the smoke either. But if the last two rooms are any indication, I sense danger." Only seeing the door, she says, "Let's check the door. But examine it for traps or illusions."
Yujin assumes the group is on the right path and assists with the ritual.

With Suryo and Ajoran examining the area, Yujin tries to avoid the eye's gaze and heals herself.
"Perhaps this is some kind of illusion." Yujin attempts to dispel whatever is affecting us. She casts dispel magic (Rank 8). Then she draws her other saber, just in case. ◆Dispel Magic (Rank 8)
I'm not sure what the inscription means to be honest, this is a test to see perhaps if harming the crowd (the living?) might be helpful. If so don't approach Janna, next turn she could do a psi catastrophe Does anyone read Diabolic that shared what it said? Yujin doesn't speak that.
"Something's not right here." Yujin activates her greater mask of the mantis to cast see the unseen. Then she activates her armor's invisibility and wonders if it will even make a difference in this strange place. She looks around to see if anything else stands out. ◆◆Greater Mask of the Mantis - Enhance Vision (See the Unseen)
Without needing to know the specifics, Yujin knows that demons are creatures that only mean to cause harm and she's not about to give it a chance to do so. She silently rushes to Suryo's side and strikes. She stares at the demon with deadly intent.

Yujin nods at her allies' response. She thinks they have the answer under control so she tries to discover another secret. Unfortunately, she doesn't learn enough.

Yujin is probably not the best person to present the opening argument, so she aids with a discovery first.

Yujin merges with the shadows in the darkened warehouse. She takes a non-obvious exit and keeps running.
Sorry, I was sick this weekend. I'm good with Suryo's plan of scoping out the Pagoda. I'm assuming we'll need to infiltrate it next. Or maybe some gather information on its defenses? Like is there an alternate way in beside the front door? Would invisibility work or are there wards against it?
Yujin will share the information she knows on astradaemons. Then Yujin points to the back door. "Go! You've provided enough useful information that you may live. Leave while we are still feeling generous."
Yujin grabs Shirota by the throat. The flames enveloping her body make her grip uncomfortably hot and tongues of fire lick at Shirota's chin. She attempts to shove the man towards her wall of arms, but even if he doesn't move, the arms flail and grasp in his direction. Their fingers brush against Shirota's skin, just out of reach, yearning to get ahold of him.
"We already know about Torvald and the Mantis Keeper. You'll have to tell us something we don't know if you want to keep your life. We only need one brother for our psychic to probe. I suggest you loosen your lips and submit as the woman is telling you to."
Yujin heals Ajoran again. Then quickly draws her blade and strikes at Shirota in a single move.

Yujin probably would have sustained her mist but with Ajoran badly wounded, draining her ally further who not aid her cause. She lets the sanguine mist spell end and dissipate into nothingness. Then she conjures another spell. She casts wall of flesh. A formless mass of flesh starts as a small ball then expands rapidly until it blocks off the entire southern portion of the building. Then the mass sprouts countless humanoid arms the begin grasping blindly at anyone within reach. "You may have started this fight, but we will finish it. There is no escape." Lastly, she strides over to block off the western hallway. ◆◆Cast Wall of Flesh (Arms)
Yujin frowns at Zaiho as he downs Suryo and steps closer. "You think that's funny? Your boy, Shirota is sweating pretty hard back there. I think he might be having a stroke." "Suryo, no laying down on the job. We still have work to do!" Yujin delays until after Janna then casts heal (level 8, 2 action) on Suryo.
Then she casts a quickened sanguine mist (level 6, basic Fort DC 36) over the area of the two brothers and activates her thousand visions ability to allow her to see clearly, which also triggers her curse of engulfing flames, so she gains 1 persistent fire damage.

Yujin responds in Tien, "You think this is a game, children? Alright, you want to play a game? Let's bet on which twin dies first? I say Shirota." Then Yujin casts impending doom (Level 8) on Shirota. (Will DC 36, 16d6 Mental on round 3) And she also uses Scare to Death on him.

"Alright. I'll talk to them. Go ahead and see if you can find anything out from their thoughts." Yujin strikes up to the pair and addresses them. "Zaiho and Shirota, I presume. Word around Ilizmagorti is that you are looking for some excommunicated assassins. I wouldn't happen to be one of them, would I? We've already talked to the Mantis Keeper. Would you rather have this conversation be public or private?"
Yujin responds to Ajoran, "We are still trying to keep a low profile so I agree with the less bombastic approach. Let's see if we can get anywhere with talking." "My understanding is that they know who we are and they are not our friends. I think we've been spotted the second we stepped through the door."
"Good. We have our next target. Let's see what these merchants have to say."

I'm home from vacation! I'm sorry to here about your car accident. I'm glad you are okay. Once I'm settled, I'll catch up on what I missed and resume posting.
I'm off to vacation now. I'll be getting back Sunday 8/31, so I'll resume posting that night or more likely Monday 9/1.

Yujin eyes burn with internal fire and she strikes fear into her enemy of her impending doom. Yujin uses Scare to Death. Then she casts execute. ◆Scare to Death (Sister Maeri)
Yujin will let the others beat down the enemy for the moment while she patches up her allies. She casts a 3-action Heal (Level 8). ◆◆◆Heal (Level 8)

"Let's do something about this bleeding. This might hurt a bit." Yujin casts cauterize wounds on herself, Suryo, and Ajoran.
Then she heals some of her wounds with a level 6 Heal. ◆◆Cauterize Wounds
Yujin slashes at the enemy in front of her. Seeing that he is badly wounded, she hopes she can finish him off. "Die! I'm going to paint the roof red with your blood!" Then she casts shock to the system. A dense lightning cloud descends upon Ajoran, then fires a jolt of revitalizing lightning, shocking him back awake. "Keep fighting! You can only die when I say you can." Ajoran heals 47 hp and the bolt wakes him up from unconscious. For the duration of the spell (1 minute), the Ajoran is supercharged. He becomes quickened and can use the extra action to Stand, Stride, Strike, or Fly. In addition, he can cast 5th-rank thunderstrike as an innate spell at will, using my spell DC 36 (or 35 while I'm Sickened 1). The cloud that covered Ajoran remains until the end of his next turn. Any creature in the cloud is hidden, and anything outside the cloud is hidden to any creature inside the cloud. ◆Strike (Purple)
FYI, I will be on vacation from Sunday August 24 to Sunday August 31. I will be on a cruise so I will not be posting during that time.
Yujin wants to reciprocate and heal Ajoran but he is surrounded by enemies. So instead, she tries to clear some enemies out of the way first. Yujin lets the mist fade, then stands and conjures her whirling flames upon as many enemies as she can. Casting whirling flames on Red Mantis Assassins (Blue, Green, Purple, and Red) (Basic Reflex DC 36).
Then Yujin activates her crimson shroud to start patching up some more wounds. ◇Kip Up
Yeah. It has been bad.
Yujin coughs up blood after the assassin stabs her. "Now you." she retorts. She grins with blood-stained lips and a vicious bleeding wound opens on her assailant's body. Not looking too good, Yujin attempts to translocate again to a more favorable position. She uses her mist as cover in case any enemies come at her from the north.
