Hu spent his earliest years in a humble mountain village hidden away in the foggy forests of Tian-Xia. The kitsune was a smart boy, and had a natural way with the animals, but made a poor study and displayed a clear disdain for authority. Ironically, Hu was destined for a position in power. Unbeknownst to the young fox-kin, The blood in his veins could be traced back 107 generations to the last Kitsune-Blooded Emperor. Throughout his life, he's had dreams of nine tailed fox spirits, as well as visions of his ancestor's lifes.
The man that Hu Knew as his grandfather was aware of the boy's "kami-touched" nature, and demanded that he remain in his human form, lest they end up chased out of town. Fox-spirits, while capable of great wisdom, have a reputation as tricksters, and as such, some villagers might react violently. To the man's dismay, Hu disregarded the warning and made use of his predisposition for changing faces to have fun and wreak friendly chaos throughout the village.
