So much variety here. Its always interesting to see who gets picked.

Have fun deliberating, DM Hamied!

"What does a world without music sound like?"
That was what I asked myself when I read your opening post. I would love to explore that question with a character who has a talent working with raw sound....but not music as we know it.

Please go ahead and send a mail to animanipissing@hotmail.ca. It helps to have character creation guidelines when preparing a character concept.

As for stats.... st 10 dx 12 cn 12 it 12 ws 12 cH 18
(Charisma +1 at level 4).

Perhaps a gnome..08 12 14 12 12 18.

Since "music" is an unknown concept, my character's talent might come off as really strange and magical - even to himself.

What is this power he has with sound? What does it sound like? I hear all kinds of possibilities....

Throwing my hat in here.

Professor Rokannon was a friend and colleague of Professor Lorrimor, alternately cooperating on a paper and arguing over footnotes.

FYI, Professor. As per DM Hamied's opening post, you'll need to adjust your stats. And - for the record - I think you have a fine character concept.

Can I play a musician (heretic)?

Introducing a debauched rogue from the River Kingdoms into the fray....
Crafting a character and will post a profile soon.

Mechanically I am thinking more along the lines of a heavy-hitting sneak attack - and some social "graces" - if you can call them that...

Welk Camerling:
The son of a Mendevian crusader and a dockside prostitute, Welk grew up as a vagrant river rat in the River Kingdoms of the Sellen. As a youth he built up his strength as a dock labourer - he is beefy enough to pass as a tough guy if he chooses to. River life exposed him to the diverse cultures of the Inner Kingdom and trained him in the wheeling and dealing of river trade. His wily negotiating skills helped him to secure gainful employment wherever he went. But Welk is also a lusty bloke, and tends to betray his own business dealings by getting tangled in scandalous affairs by the way. Tired of low-born fishwives and their vengeful husbands - he decided to tag along with a group of crusaders on their way to Mendev. Welk is a big man, and can handle himself in a fight. It seemed a grand fit for him at first. The caché of Crusader expanded the theatre of his lustful exploits. But he lacked the military discipline and proclivity for violence needed for that life. He wisely scuttled ship before before the warriors set sail for more brutal conquests to the North.

Now Ustalav was a particularly attractive destination for a rogue like Welk. He heard of the the charming opulence of its towns and admired the aristocratic demeanor of its ladies. He saw in this country a new field for conquest. He became friends with Professor Lorrimer shortly after disembarking from that crusade two years ago. He clearly noted that the Professor kept good company, so he decided to ingratiate himself to the old fellow - and managed to weasel a way into his service. Using inborn wiles and charms, Welk secured employment in the offices of the Professor's chamberlain. There found he found fertile grounds for scheming and debauchery as the retainer of a noble household.

The Professor`s death is something of a setback for the young cad. As Lorrimer's manservant he was a made man. He suspects that that some of Lorrimer's estate staff have it in for him and that they are thinking of cutting him loose. If he were to operate as a freebooter he would likely have to cross paths with the Scarzni - an unsavoury prospect to be sure. Frantically wondering how to keep out of trouble - he arrives at the funeral ready to improvise a new scheme.....
