About Honeybeard
In -3708 AR over eight thousand years ago the Sky Citadel of Koldukar fell. In the Battle of Nine Stones, orcs breached the walls and drove the dwarves from Koldukar, One of those dwarves was Honeybeard’s ancestor Dhodrurum Copperbraids, his great x23 grandfather.
When Honeybeard’s ancestors driven from their home they resettled in Highhelm in the Five Kings Mountains. Never forgetting their loss they were amongst armies of Khadon the Mighty who retook the mountains from the orcs and founded the Dwarven Empire of Tar-Khadurrm.
Honeybeard was born in 4653 AR in a temple of Torag. He was blessed at birth by the priests and as a result was destined to only join a good aligned faith. The priests took his birth in the temple as an omen and hoped he would become a champion of Torag in some way. Honeybeard’s father is Frór Flamebeard and his mother is Kali Ashbolt. Frór is employed currently in Highhelm as a sergeant, training fresh recruits in the way of the hammer and axe. His mother Kali is a humble Dress Maker.
As a child Honeybeard served as an ale barrel maker and a miner, developing his mine sight.
Honeybeard upon reaching adulthood was convinced by his devout mother to make a pilgrimage to Azurestone in Galt. When he arrived and began praying to Torag his mind was flooded with visions. They were vivid images of his ancestors fleeing and being killed by orcs at Koldukar, fighting and reclaiming Dwarven lands under Khadon the Mighty. Torag’s voice entered his head and told Honeybeard of his great potential, that because of his ancestry if he were to dedicate himself to the deity and the cause of reclaiming lost Dwarven homelands he would be granted the powers of the specialist Stonelord Paladins.
Honeybeard accepted Torag’s message and swore an oath to protect his people and reclaim the lands lost to them. When researching how he could fulfil his oath he learned of the Pathfinder Society who had just discovered a lost Sky Citadel and were planning an expedition. He set off to Absalom to join up after saying a tearful farewell to his family.
