Chronicle looks good. Add me to the chorus thanking you for GMing a good game, and it was great playing with all of you as well!

That..that was frustrating. Hob says, panting a bit as the shade-thing finally lies broken apart. Are you alright Mylow?

this last questions is tossed off on the go as Hob immediately starts moving to the stairs beyond. Skidding into place just in time to see several fetchlings escape but too late to stop them leaves the fighter smacking a nearby wall in frustration before slumping over to rest against it.

---

As Toldrar wanders off after briefing the party later, he looks at the others. Well, wasn't the day I was expecting. Did we actually accomplish much do you think? Hob scratches his head. Good teamwork and striking from all of you though. Happier to have you on my side than theirs.

Hob, I overlooked your question - I saw the attack roll missed and didn't read further. Updates in a bit. Exhausting day today...

Oh, no problem. Lot of posts and things going on, and easy enough to miss: it’s why I rolled the miss chances just in case.

And sorry about your day. Pretty exhausting one over here so far too. Fun all around… :p

Shoot - realize I never got an answer on whether Flat check still needed while Hob is holding onto the creature. Just in case:

AoO flat: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Trip flt: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Combat Grab flat: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Regualr attack flt: 1d20 ⇒ 4

I don’t know if anyone did grab a Beacon Shot. Would be great here, but Hob doesn’t have one.

AoO v flat-footed: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (13) + 17 = 30 for Bludgeoning damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4) + 4 = 10

Getting real real tired of this thing, but aware from his Allie’s that it’s a machine so glaring at it’s a moot point, Hob angrily just keeps swinging away hoping Something finally works.

Athletics to Trip: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28

Combat Grab: 1d20 + 17 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 17 - 4 = 33 for Bludgeoning: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 5) + 4 = 15

Smack: 1d20 + 17 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 17 - 4 - 4 = 15 for Bludgeoning: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 6) + 4 = 16

Just break already!!!

Well! Hob yells in excitement and -to be honest - relief as the monk's fist seems to actually finally affect the shade-thing. At least it looks like its not immortal.

Seeing the thing being quite annoying to strike, the fighter sweeps his hammer out to try and knock it off-blaance and to the ground.

Athletics to Trip v its Reflex DC: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29
Flat Check: 1d20 ⇒ 7

before then whaling on it as hard as he can.

Combat Grab v Flat-footed: 1d20 + 17 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 17 - 4 = 21 for Bludgeoning: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 4) + 4 = 11
Since I am (presumably) grabbing onto it at this point, not sure if still need the flat check to hit it. If so:Flat check: 1d20 ⇒ 12

Hob sees how quickly the situation has turn and grimaces. Wanting to move in and smack the last kayal down but realizing that would block any approach to Mylow if he fails, the fighter reaches down and pulls out a potion himself. He then strides towards the fallen friend and pours the liquid down his throat.

◆ Draw out a lesser healing potion
◆ Stride
◆ Interact to feed potion to Mylow

Mylow heals: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (7, 6) + 5 = 18

Looking down at the rogue as they gain consciousness, Hob grunts Scramble back and out. And remember - these two ain't the goal: whatever's down the stairs they were guarding is.

Looking to take advantage of Mylow's aggressive set-up, Hob Strides towards the figure shrouded in shadow and tries

Snagging Strike v flat-footed: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26 for Bludgeoning: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 5) + 4 = 13

The fighter adjusts for his follow-up bash but the hammer slides off the being's armor Assuming that that second strike misses

And ow. That hurt. Nows our turn.

Intimidate to Demoralize blue: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20

The fighter then swings twice at the figure before him.

Stubborn fetchlings. Scratching you shouldn't have been worth their life. Here, let me fix it up.

Medicine for Mylow: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21 for Healing: 2d8 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6

Hob shakes his head as yet another beast tries to maul him.

Impressive speed he snarls as the winged lizard manages to approach him and still get off three strikes. Not smart though - should’ve seen how this went for your friend.

The fighters not sure if they can understand his words, but a furious stare transcends language.

Hob moves up to the lip of the room. He stands a bit behind the monk and the elf, letting their nice words...well, speak for themselves.

But the fighter glares past his allies into the archive room beyond, trying to catch the eye of any kayal. Whenhe does, he nods towards Nagaikaze with a smile and a raised eyebrow, as if to say 'sounds pretty good to me'. Then he nods towards his hammer - flexing a little when he does - then stares back at the intruder with a frown to imply what the other way might be.

There any Recall checks on either what sort of beings these attackers were, or the Onyx Alliance?

Thinking on the hobgoblin’s two tasks, the fighter ponders for a second before musing The archives with those intruders’d be first, right? If a traps going in that other hall means anything there’s right trapped too.

to be clear, just Hob’s vote of order. He’s a pretty straight-forward thinker.

You heard me. Know the drill. One…

Intimidate to Appeal to Shadowy Intruders: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19

Two

If above didn’t work and white didn’t surrender, Hob will Snagging Strike at them. If they did surrender and know what’s good for them, the swing would be to red - that one without pulling punches and fully lethal (so ignore that -2)

nonlethal(?) Snagging Strike: 1d20 + 17 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 17 - 2 = 32 for nonlethal(?) bludgeoning: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 1) + 4 = 9
