If Helane believes the ritual to be sufficiently studiously prepared then she agrees to assist.

"Finally. Hopefully that's the last we'll need to deal with any unsavory elements. Good job keeping your composure everyone."

Helane gives Murqual a cursory nod. "We can deliver the goods to the Society now and hopefully get on with our next assignment."

"Ugh, were we supposed to understand that?" Helane mutters looking at her companions to see if any of them did, not even entirely sure it's a language.

"We're here to uphold Murquals end of your little trade deal, I assume you'll hold up your end of the bargain, yes?"

She speaks with the Gnoll that barked at the party, hoping it's the one in charge.

"Hopefully it can be resolved as quickly as that Div, hardly seemed worth our time."

Listening to Wraiths request, Helane directs her eagle to attack the creature from the opposite side and it complies, flying out and around, attacking with talons outstretched.

Talons: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 2 = 221d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Her spell complete, she draws her wand of magic missile and fires it at the div.

Sorry for the delay, minor emergency at home kept me busy.

Helane summons forth a celestial eagle and look to her companions.

"Let's do this swiftly." She instructs before saying the command word.

Helane moves back from the edge and uses her wand to cast mage armor on herself. She mutters to herself, considering her options as she prepares to conjure in some help for the party.

Will begin summon monster 1 if there is time.

"Yes, Wraith, I believe we are. Let's make haste than, if we need to be done by sundown we shouldn't dally any more than we have." Helane nods at the rogue and gets ready to leave.

Helane realizes that, despite her hobby as a conjurer, she doesn't actually have much formal training in anything planar and, hiding her embarrassment, waits for information from Hannar about Divs.

"And what of this protective magic you need help with? What for does it take? Is it dangerous, or just difficult to break through?" Helane says, wondering if it's worth her time or not.

"I think that seems fair." Helane answers. "Two favors hardly seems over kill, and we get what the Society has tasked us with obtaining. I dare say both parties seems to have exhausted our negotiative efforts anyway. What are the tasks, Murqual?"

"Well, it's nice to know I'm in good company." Helane says with a smile as the others begin negotiating. She takes a step back and waits to see how Murqual reacts to Wraiths blunt statements.

Sorry for the long silence, was away this weekend but forgot to pack my cell phone and couldn't post.

"Unless I am mistaken, Murqual, you have a reputation as a man who knows a good deal when he sees one. And any good merchant knows that opportunity can sometimes be more important than immediate profit."

She crosses her arms and looks down her nose at the man.

"We carry an Andoran Promissory Note, for the price you have agreed upon with our Venture-Captain. Not only does this insure you the gold, but a continued relationship with the Society as well, which is sure to bring more profit."

"What else could you possibly desire beyond a mutually beneficial relationship and continued income?"

"Trapping minds? What an awful thing." Helane says with a frown. "Thank you for the belated answer Captain, it is reassuring at least to know our bodies will not be assaulted, though it seems our minds may need shielding."

She considers Dwozers information as they head to the merchant's shop.

Flipping through Dwozers spellbook Helane nods. My spells are on the 3rd page of the mythweavers character sheet in my profile.

"Yes, a few of these seem useful to me. Though I doubt our companions will wait for us to study, brutes and mages without finesse as far as I can tell, perhaps we'll make our trade later." She hands the man back his book and looks to the captain frowning.

"So, since you did not answer my question, should I assume you trust Murqual not to assault us?" She frowns and crosses her arms. "In any case I suppose we should be off then, you seem awfully keen to be rid of our company, is everyone ready?" She moves to exit the room, not bothering to see if anyone else is actually following.

"Share spells? Of course, we must make every effort to keep fellow mages prepared and knowledgeable." Helane replies to Dowzer as they head toward Wulessa's office.

"My arcane studies have not had any mention of the Mondastic Archives unfortunately, but the family business has enlightened me on fellows such as Palhuna Murqual. Wraith is correct, he is known as one of the preeminent vendors of magical and mundane devices created for restraining and storing living (or unliving) beings." Her sneer is obviously practiced but the tone of her voice suggests her contempt is genuine.

"Rumor has it that he has a side trade in smuggling kidnapped victims within his wares. Troubles with that business recently cost him some of his more experienced servants, and he is said to be looking for agents to ‘get a few things done’. I sincerely hope he doesn't turn his eye on us, do we need to protect ourselves from Murqual?" She asks the Captian, an eyebrow raised.

"Well, it's about time I've been given another mission." Helane says to herself as she reads the scroll. "I'm sure any numer of connections can be made for the family business in Katapesh."

One of the Tes family servants begins making the necessary travel arrangements while Helane plans her wardrobe over the coming weeks, making sure to wear clothing practical but still befitting of her station.

She arrives at the Farseer Tower a day early, and enjoys a little rest before finally making her way to find Venture-Captain Tuul.

"Well, I've arrived as requested. I trust you have something interesting for us to become embroiled in, yes?" She asks haughtily as she awaits the official briefing.

Helane scrutinized Colson, trying to see if his intentions were as pure as they seemed. She new a thing or too about noble scandals.

Wish I had the explore, report, cooperate boon right now

"What exactly is it your brother was doing that may have survived all these years in the necropolis?" Helane asks, trying to stall, unsure if Grisham still wants to provide his brother with the information they found.

"I can't imagine it would at all be relevant in any case."

Helane quiets as they enter the classroom. Memories of her last exploration of the Necropolis flood her mind. "Let's make this quick."

"Well, I don't know how quickly I can react, but if you gentleman don't feel up to task I can certainly do it." Helane grunts haughtily as she grabs one of the siphons and prepares for whatever comes next.

Casting Mage Armor from my wand

"Ambition is the boon and bane of all noble houses, children." Helane looms at the notes briefly, committing their contents to memory, taking Nemroks word that the info is as valuable as he says.

"There seems to be much more going on here than we first thought, but you're right Grisham we should stay on task. Where to now?"

"Yes, any information you can provide will help us. What kind of people are these harvesters that had you so frightened of us? "

Geeze you guys have been busy.

Helane turns her nose up at the corrupted fruits and nuts and draws her wand while she waits for one of their more armored companions to continue through the door.

"If I wait on the men to open the door I'll be waiting here all day!" Helane says to J. with a smile as she opens the door to the next room.

Having been too disgusted to even consider giving her blood to some cretin, Helane uttered little more than disgusted noises as the group negotiated passage, which all in all is probably less offensive that anything she might have said.

As they pass the unsightly creature her mind goes back to the dripping Silgil had mentioned.

"Try not to touch anything wet, gentlemen. The liquid from the clouds Silgil mentioned early has been known to cause corruption in it's victims days after contact. I imagine it's no pleasant transition."

"Yes J, that is a yes." Helane huffs at the redundancy and the wasted time, even her fondness for the girl does not outweigh her impatience.

"Let's go, before those brutes return here."

"Well, aren't you full of surprises?" Helane declares as she puts her wand away. "J may dear you are a spiritualist. A caster, a little like myself, but whereas I needed to study and learn the nuances of magical theory, you can act with your mind, thanks to your phantom, Grisham."

She appraises the green boy and nods her head as she considers what they've told her.

"Well, we were headed there anyway, I don't see why this changes anything. Grisham, what family are you from that you were tasked with spying on the others? It's been almost twenty years, do you expect this information to still be relevant?"

Ninja'd by GM, consider the question answered.

Helane draws her wand and fires another magical bolt of energy at the man in front of her.

MM: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

"Interesting..." is all Helane has time to mutter before the group of men fall upon them looking for a fight.

She steps back from the aggressor in front of her and points a finger at him. The ring on her finger glows for a moment and a burst of magic flies free, hitting the man square in the chest.

K. Local: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

"Well of course I'll sign!" Helane actually smiles when given the chronicle and she happily signs it. Somehow her sense of self worth and importance becomes even more insufferable as they continue their journey with J.

"I spend most of my time running the family trade and maintaining our profits I'm afraid. I've hardly had time to even return to any of my magical studies." Helane frowns momentarily but puts her noble face on again just as quick.

"Tell me dear, do you always dress like the Eagle Knights? Or is that just for special occasions?"

"If this is truly what you think she needs, then I will have it done. We can't have a young noble walking the necropolis on her own. As I recall we encountered a number creatures intent on taking our lives. Does she have a reason for this obsession?"

Helane frowns throughout the entire affair, having no real desire to return to the Tri-Towers herself.

"Honestly Nemrok, he likely stole the outfit off of some old soldier so he could be impressive today." Helane laughs at her own rude joke as she listens to the Venture Captain.

"That poor girl actually wants to go back?" She shakes her head disapprovingly. "I don't suppose we could talk her out of it? That place was absolutely dreadful."

It's weird having to make knowledge checks about our own direct past, but I know PFS is rigid.

Helane arrives at the meeting point as resplendent as ever though with a much more subdued fashion, in keeping with the times of course.

She nods at the two half-orcs with about as much warmth as they might expect. "Seiran, Nemrok, good to see you both looking healthy as ever."

Notes: SPent 2PP on a Wand of Magic Missile so we won't have to deal with as many poorly aimed acid bolts this time around.

As far as time is concerned, we could always just call the previous scenario a flash back.

So glad someone passed that heal check, I was worried we'd end up just leaving her down here!

"Gods, that poor thing!" Helane actually seems to be concerned for the girl once they discover she's alive. "To have been down here this whole time! Could you imagine?" She shakes her head, visibly distressed.

"Let's get her the help she needs."

When they pass the groundskeeper and Seiran knocks him out, Helane nods approvingly.

"It's a dead girl, among other dead things that we've seen all day. Let's get the ring and be gone, we've a report to give."

Helane huffs and looks around, unsure what she's going to write other than Avoid the Necropolis and Get mental help for the grounds keeper.

Acid Bolt; Touch: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 2 - 4 = 121d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Helane takes a step forward as Renn sings and fires off yet another acid bolt, trying to aim around the stalwart half-orc.

Helane takes a moment to press her ear up against the wall and listen, hoping to avoid any unnecessary surprised.
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (15) + 0 = 15

If she hears anything she warns the party, in either case she takes a step back from the door and clears her through haughtily, staring at the more armored members of the group and nodding at the door.

"One should always open a door for a Lady." She huffs.

Helane's cast finishes and a celestial dog appears next to Seiran where it will attack the first thing that comes into it's reach that isn't the party. For her own part Helane crosses the room and fires an acid bolt at the creature coming from the north.

Dog Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 171d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Acid Bolt, Touch: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 91d6 ⇒ 2

Dog has 8HP, AC 13, lasts 2 rounds as is augmented by augment summoning.

Helane stands in the doorway where she was watching the scene, when her companions start shouting in alarm she begins a complicated series of motions and chants, letting the others take up positions while she calls in reinforcements.

Summon Monster I, spell completes just before my next turn.

Helane rolls her eyes as her colleagues allow this man to torment himself further, but as he approaches the spirits she can't help but hold her breath, wondering what will happen next.

"Marlinchen, would your daughter not be older if she had lived? I'm afraid dear that this is her spirit, perhaps you can talk to her and find out why she and her fellow students linger here?"

What she intends to be a consoling tone sounds, instead, harsh and uncaring. She turns to her companion for help reasoning with the man.

Helane rolls her eyes and grabs the ring from the men. She rolls it over in her hands and inspects the magical energies from it.

When she thinks she's figured it out she hands it back to Renn with a huff.

"Can we move on now? Surely there's more to explore than just this ring."

Uncomfortable with how close the creature has come, and realizing she doesn't have much in her arsenal to help, Helane withdraws to the back of the room.

Recovered, somewhat, from her trance, and seeing that Peter seems to have black handled, Helane moves toward purple and releases an acid bolt.
