So the shadow rat swarm seems to exist specifically to screw over a party without a positive-energy channeler. No one in my group wants to play a cleric/life oracle (we have a warpriest, but he won't have channeling until he hits 4th level at the end of the book), and I can't figure out any way for them to defeat the encounter.

The normal anti-swarm arsenal doesn't work because incorporeal creatures are immune to alchemist's fire/acid/etc., and the normal anti-incorporeal arsenal of spells like magic missile can't target it because it's a swarm. Vermin repellent won't work because it's Tiny undead, not Fine vermin, and swarmbane clasp is unaffordable on 3rd-level wealth. The only magic weapon in play is Brinya's Love, and doing half-a-d4 damage per round is going to wear through 39 hit points a lot slower than 2d6 + 1d4 Str damage per round without having to roll to attack.

Does anyone have any ideas how a 3rd-level party can beat this thing without channeling?

EDIT: Holy water was just suggested on Mark Seifter's Ask thread. That's actually a really good resource, as it's niche-y enough for the party not to have used it all up in the fight against the orcs, like they may have with channeling and spell slots. Now I just have to figure out a way subtly to suggest the party load up on holy water during the battle. ;)

The 3 bombers at the catapult also have an Unerring Grenade each. So the pcs can get their hands on magical 3d6 aoe explosives before hand.

Part of the reason the TPK occurred was because the party was too scared to leave the dungeon after successfully talking to the witch tree. I wanted them to be scared of it because it was so blood thirsty. After a few encounters they didnt want to leave because they thought it would back stab them so they pressed on too deep and over extended themselves.

My players also noted that these adventure paths place useful wands to be used later so they hoard them.

My Pcs had a wand of spider climbing from a previous mission. They rolled natural 20s to answer the riddle. I was ready to use the tree in combat if needed. I gave them +8 to climb checks with the spider climb if any issues occurred. Once in the dungeon they were quickly Tpked and decided to stop the adventure path. Its such a great dungeon too.

Rozum, male advanced awakened raven oracle (Tiny)
The adventure states he is an albino. The figure is not albino

Ratibor the Bold, male human barbarian

:
This character has a magical item that will make him large size. A large sized version of him would be awesome. Kind of like the spriggans in the previous two Reign of winter minis.

The Talking Stag, male elk
The adventure has him as white coated. The figure is not.

Thanks!!!!!

I was hoping the Hut would be included as well. I also noted the hut is not in the Part 3 minis. It was something I was looking forward to.

The Dancing hut should have been included.

This is the quest on the inside cover of Curse of the lady's light. It only has an xp reward and no treasure reward. Should there be a treasure reward?

The shard of Envy gives +1 insight bonus to AC.
The Ioun Stone for it is a Dusty Rose Prism which gives +1 Insight bonus to AC.
Insight bonus does not stack.
My question is does the shard of Envy with the Ioun stone give the user +2 insight bonus to AC or just a +1 bonus?

Terisha Skiloni now has the Shard of Pride.

I ran my first session of Shards of Sin this past weekend. After clearing out Natalya Vancaskerkin's burnt out house, the party had two PCs unconscious and two at very low hp with Natalya in negatives and in tow. Terisha skiloni and her three thugs were in front of the house when the PCs departed and demanded that the PCs had over Natalya and the shard. Of course they said no and rolled initiative. I soundly subdued the one who had the shard and the other retreated back into the house.

Terisha then coup de graced Natalya and took the shard and retreated with her thugs. I then had Fenster showed up and he was hired by the lone pc to go get Sheila. Sheila returned and escorted(dragged) the pcs back to pathfinder headquarters. I then had Shelia have a speak with dead spell casted on Natalya so the pcs can know about The Crow and ended the session.

Now I have to figure out what to do with Terisha now that she is cursed. She wont return to The Crow just like Natala. I was thinking of her being at a tavern acting like a queen and having the thugs lounging around her.

Since the PCs went to Lead 3 first and then on to Lead 4 I was thinking of using Lead 1 to inform them of Terisha terrorizing that Tavern but the book says that Zograthy wouldn't give the tower girls whereabouts to the pcs. So I guess have the tavern nearby and that Zograthy was annoyed when he visited there or something.

I was thinking of what Terisha would do with the shard's major image Ability. One idea would be to create a wererat from a normal rat in the image of Ayala Javeski and then command her to attack the PCs. Another would be to transform herself into a wererat and then attack and the illusion lasting only 3 rounds. I wonder if Major image can be used on yourself to cloak yourself in an illusion.

Any thoughts or suggestions in modifying this encounter or examples of this happening to your campaign.
