About Hassan Ibn Jad

BACKGROUND
Hassan is the only child of a minor wine merchant of the city of Sothis. Hassan would often travel with his father across Northern Garund, making deliveries. In his time he saw many different places and peoples and became fascinated with the history of each. When his magical abilities first manifested, when their caravan was attacked by bandits and he helped drive them off his father finally accepted that his son would not follow him into the wine trade.

However, his father was a shrewd man and could see the many potential benefits of having a well placed sorcerer in the family. As such he happily sent him off to train at the Arcanamirium in Absalom. There he learned much of magic, history, people and, his greatest love, archaeology. Hassan has only recently returned home after he learned of the opening of the ancient monuments and he is hungry for the chance to learn more of the history and magic of his homeland.

APPEARANCE
Hassan is a tall, thin man, dark skinned man dressed in loose fitting and voluminous robes of white and gold. The robes are filled with all kinds of tools, scrolls, bottles and other items he used in his day to day work. He covers his head with an elaborate turban, set with a brilliant blue gem which reflects the colour of his eyes. His long thing fingers are always fidgeting with something, a spell component, coins, a small brush or one of the foul smelling Nexian cigars he is particularly fond of.
