I'm just wondering if this game will continue or are you still sorting out the story?
It looks like this came to a grinding halt after going at a breakneck pace.
Harron might join you guys in a venture to Hell, for certain reasons. But he is not the kind of person who would work with others, unless necessary.
And I know he is going to mess with my plans. Also Harron does not need anything from Hell. And he will send some assistance to get Verix back, if you need it. Free skeletons for everyone!!!!
I mean if you ever wanted to become undead, I got you covered. Harron's lieutenant is quite good and doing undead stuff.
Now that I think about it, I should have used my army because if a few dudes died they could have just be resurrected with animate dead. But hey, hindsight 20/20
We went from a breakneck pace to a normalish PbP
Maybe 1 level? So I can cast some stuff?
I think the rest of us might have some more secrety stuff going on.
The lieutenant watches the Emperor stab Harron, and tenses up watching all of his hard work in making this happen fade away. Both his greatest creation and his master gone in a moment. He waves the skeletons forward, and they grab what is left of the armor and bones and bring it back to the rest of the men.
As Harron falls his lieutenant begins walking towards where Harron fell, but he keeps his distance. The skeletons follow him a few feet behind him. "Will I be allowed to collect my master's remains, like the others?"
It all started with another lucky crit. And I could get one for myself on it. Also not being able to smite good was bad too. I would have gotten a +6 to hit him. Would that have mattered?
The AoO hits, so no matter what Harron is down. I'm pretty sure he can do two damage.
Harron tries to run away again, but this time the Emperor's blade finds its mark. Harron falls out of his horse, no longer moving.
It is a bit of a respect thing for Harron's troops, though I might bring the skeletons in soon, if I don't die.
I am fighting on two health. If he breathes on me I might topple over. The battle of the two defensive characters will continue.
Harron will try to make a hit with the dagger again. Continuing the running around, to try to keep whatever advantage he can.
Attack: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (14) + 20 = 34
Damage?: 1d4 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19
AoO: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (6) + 18 = 24
Damage?: 1d8 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22
Harron takes the blow from Chreos, and rides off. As he ran off he shifted and grabbed the dagger out from his side. He decided, this was his shot.
Attack: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (15) + 20 = 35
Damage?: 1d4 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20
I hope what I rolled is enough. And the AoO was for the previous charge.
Not sure if I should use the dagger yet or not.
Harron takes the blow and returns the favor with his own. Harron then once again runs away, to try and keep his distance from the Emperor.
Attack: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (5) + 18 = 23
Damage?: 1d8 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
It is an 'exit' strategy. Not the most optimal but very useful. Once my lieutenant is level 11, I have the best escape plan... Teleportation.
One more level would give me the additional casts of challenge and smite good. Which would be quite useful at this moment.
That works for me. It is going to be really hard to hit him though.
Harron is immune to fire, so he takes no damage. I should have specified it on the doc but that is another immunity. Also, I have been messing up my charge attacks, he gets a +4 to charge not +2.
Harron then rides away from the Emperor, to give himself some distance for another charge.
Moving 90ft away from him. I will take his AoO. And i just saw your edit, but that is what he will do if they don't try to avenge him.
AoO: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (7) + 18 = 25
I assume that doesn't hit
"Since you are being so generous. I might as well." Harron waves one of his cavalry men closer and the man rides his horse up to Harron. He dismounts, and then Harron mounts the horse.
Harron retakes his lance, and charges at Chreos, running past him 20 ft as he attacks.
Attack: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (17) + 20 = 37
Damage: 3d8 + 42 ⇒ (8, 1, 3) + 42 = 54
Its a shame I tried both of my swift actions on him. I can't do them again :(
Harron sees Verix topple over, and with it he just laughs. "This is why he is the emperor." As he finishes he shifts in his armor slightly.
How far away is Harron from the Emperor?
[ooc]Gonna roll initiative for everyone as well. Just in case.[ooc]
Harron: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Lieutenant: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Cavalry: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Footmen: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Skeletons: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
As this continues, Harron's lieutenant approaches and casts a spell to heal Harron's wounds.
Inflict Moderate Wounds: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (1, 1) + 3 = 5
Wow two 1's, just my luck
"I already knew he did not accept me. I'm only here to further my own ambitions. The fact that he would want me dead is something I already knew." He looks at Verix and sees him standing a bit higher and looking healthier than when their fight ended.
"I hope you will not. Unfortunately, on foot I am on your field of battle. It is quite difficult to fight without one of us having an advantage over the other."
Harron then continues to talk with Lucielle. "What may be obvious to one with knowledge, is oblivious to one lacking knowledge. All I see is the flare above your head, so all I can understand is that you have something."
Harron sees Verix back off and does not pursue when he sees the wall of shields and spears. "It seems that I have bested you brother. I do have to thank you though for at least giving me a challenge." He takes a few steps back towards his men still facing Verix. When he hears the "HA!" from Lucielle's bag he turns to her. "What was that?"
Is the skeletal horse gone btw?
Harron continues his attacks against Verix.
Attack: 1d20 + 18 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 18 - 1 = 29
Damage: 1d10 + 14 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 14 + 2 + 1 = 21
The last but is from armor training in fighter. It boosts bonus dex so he gets a bit more AC
The second hit missed. That mas my bad, I screwed up and thought you hit when you didn't sorry. You were very close
As a matter of fact, thats what I was going to do.
Harron now realizing that he has forgotten to do a few things, with a swift action Challenges Verix. He then takes his sword and once again with more power swings at him.
Attack: 1d20 + 18 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 18 - 1 = 33
Damage: 1d10 + 14 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 14 + 2 + 1 = 23
Verix you hit me with that last attack by the way. I just forgot to add it to the post.
Harron brings his sword down onto Verix, this time putting a bit more power than before into the strike.
Attack: 1d20 + 18 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 18 - 1 = 22
I will just let you keep track of what negative effects my attack rolls have and just trust you.
Damage?: 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18
I am sorry to say that your 28 misses. My AC is a bit high
Harron takes the blow with his shield and then returns the blow with his bastard sword.
Attack: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (6) + 18 = 24
Damage?: 1d10 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15
Verix you have to make a DC 17 Concentration check if that spell is a healing spell.
Confirm?: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (6) + 18 = 24
Extra Damage: 1d10 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22
That does not confirm. What is with you and rolls on attacks?
Harron tumbles off the horse onto the ground as Verix knocks down his horse. Then Harron takes a heavy blow to his chest. He stands up, his lance left on the floor and his sword and shield drawn. He takes a swing at Verix.
Attack: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (19) + 18 = 37
Damage: 1d10 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
Harron lowers his lance and charges at Verix.
Harron would like to be 30 ft away from Verix.
How far away are we from each other?
I guess I might as well roll initiatives for everyone, just in case.
Lieutenant: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Cavalry: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Footmen: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Skeletons: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Harron approaches his lieutenant and takes a moment to convene with him.
Harron then mounts his skeletal horse and prepares for combat.
Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Harron makes his way down the stairs, and then he keeps walking back towards the to the outside. "Come, I do not want to risk the tower falling at this close of a distance. Lets take this outside the fort."
Harron was going to take the opposite set of stairs. And he was just going to walk down them.
That seems like a good idea
