About Harknad the Strong
Harknad was the son of the chief blacksmith of a sept of the Shriikirri-Quah of the Storval Plateau. When his father died in an aurochs hunt, Harknad assumed he would become the sept's smith but his uncle, Varnaj, denounced him as unworthy. Harknad broke his uncle's jaw but was prevented from killing him by the rest of the clan. He was thrown from the Storval Rise to his supposed death but a giant hawk swept out of the clouds and snatched him out of the sky.
The hawk carried him SW for hours before depositing him within sight of Roderic's Cove. Harknad became a bouncer at the Drunken Buccaneer and eventually signed on with a coastal ship making the run to Magnimar. In Magnimar, he booked passage on the Jenivere, wishing to get as far away from his memories as he could.
