I am running my STAP campaign in Greyhawk using the 2024 5e rules, and I am placing the Isle of Dread in the Elemental Plane of Water.

Why?
My friends and I have been playing D&D since the 80's and 90's; we're all in our 50s, except when our kids join in, who are in their 20s. We (mostly) enjoy the differences in lore and cosmology from update to update, and it's fun to explore how these changes impact a game's narrative.

So:
Help me think of how this would play out in the campaign. I know we need to establish practical travel to the Isle of Dread to follow the STAP narrative, and I only have a couple of ideas:

1. Use of wakeportals (like how the Crimson Fleet travels to Gaping Maw)
2. Harnessing the planar storms that carry ships to and from the Isle of Dread

Any thoughts?

I am about six sessions into our 5e Savage Tide campaign, using the 2024 5e rules, and quite pleased with the addition of Greyhawk into the DMG.

I am running this more of a sandbox than a linear adventure path, but the first two adventures provide a great story with intrigue at almost every turn, and the players have enjoyed unraveling the story. They have pulled on some threads that have required me to add more meat to the story, and six sessions in, they are just now at Parrot Island.

However, I suspect that the players will want to continue investigating the shadow pearls after the events of the Bullywug Gambit, and it seems to me that the strongest thread is the Crimson Fleet's involvement. This would take them to Scuttlecove, then to the Isle of Dread.

I don't see too much of an issue with this, since the Scuttlecove adventure seems like a misdirection to begin with. But for those that have ran this (in any rules set), what do you see as needing attention?
