Lore (Reikland) 43: 1d100 ⇒ 9 "How rude! Almost ran over me!" Hans shouts after the coach, but probably they're too far to hear already. After the elf's remarks, he takes a look at the coach inside the inn's courtyard. The elf could be right. But as a student, Hans has taken the cheapest fares anyway, and those coaches tend to be far from prime condition. "Well, if they don't have the horses to pull it, then I'm demanding a significant price decrease."

@Lina: you wouldn't heal that TB automatically. You would need to better than -2SL to heal the wounds you have now. But I think you can choose not to roll if you'd fear failing miserably (maybe having just 1 wound left would be risky). @Kardin: With this lack of healer in the group, I think I'm leaning towards bright magic. It has a healing spell. Of sorts :D

The house collapses around Hans, and for a moment it looks like that will be the end of the frozen-in-fear wizardling. But miraculously, the falling rubble manages to avoid him completely - heavy pieces of timber thud into the ground with frightening force, missing the wizard by an inch. He would be totally unharmed, if not for that one roof tile, which hits Hans in the sweet spot by by the side of his head. "Augh! Godsdamned..! That hurt!!!!" But at least that was enough of a shock to snap him out of his paralysis, and he starts sprinting out of the building. 2 damage

Tense and nervous of the approaching goblins, Hans almost jumps up startled from the banging. His heart jumped very high, at least. "Oh, gods... We're not the only ones in this building." he says, once his calm enough to speak again. "It could be someone just trapped in the cellar." But that bang was very loud... "Well, we don't surely want to go out with the greenskins. So we can hold here, and hope the thing downstairs doesn't come up. Or we can go down and see what's there." But what is worse, terror you don't know, or a one you know? Was there a hatch or stairs to the cellar?

Hans stares at his hand in silence, with a bit of a dazed look in his eyes. He wiggles his fingers, and faint smile curves onto his lips. But the sudden ruckus from his new comrades snaps him back to this world, and he starts to get up in haste. But no orcs, no goblins in sight. Is the elf just spooking them out? In any case, Hans grabs his staff, and bravely stands away from the front lines.

"Arms and buns? That is a... rather untypical market approach. Do you have a particular reason for combining these two produces?" Hans gives a long eye to Esme. Is this some sort of halfling humor? A stereotype, perhaps, but the short folk supposedly have a special relation to food - but would it go this far? "I mean, if I have a craving for a bun for my afternoon tea, and go shopping for some - would I really go and buy a while I'm at it?" He gives another thought on the matter. "But who knows. I'm most likely not the target audience. They don't let wizards around gunpowder usually."

Intuition 27: 1d100 ⇒ 80 "Erm.. such a ... lovely place." Hans looks about. He though he had seen the worst of places in his student years. But clearly he had not. "But still it's much better than staying out - no rain, and only modest wind. And yes, we definitely should build a fire and warm ourselves up. Plenty of stuff lying around, serving as firewood." The others are fussing about some defensive positions and whatnot. The wizardling couldn't care less. He has his priorities set up, and that is returning the warmth to his bones.

Important point about SLs, is that you only compared the 10-digits of the dice and skill.
Also, I just learned that if a talent is tied to a skill, you get +1 SL per level of talent on successful test.

But as the old saying goes, you don't have to be faster than the ones who chase you - you only need to be faster than the other chased. And the number of short-legged people here give even a out-of-practice academic an edge. I think only voiced out suggestion was to go fast - so maybe we go with that? "A spell that would get us out of this trouble?" Hans raises his eyebrows. Get-out-of-trouble magick would be much wanted by the apprentices. If such is known by the senior wizards, it is a secret well guarded. "Nope. Would be lovely, though. But nope." Now that he isn't running from the orcs anymore, Hans feels terrible urge to just collapse to the ground. But as the said ground looks to uninvitingly wet, he merely leans on his staff (not particularly wizardy item, mind you. Merely a crudely cut piece of oak.) "Sooo, what's the plan? Any ideas how to get back to town? Preferably without meeting those orcs."

"Stumbling in the dark quite literally at the moment..." Hans mumbles an answer and joins the group. One would think a day couldn't get much worse after a wet day in the woods with the orcs. But add a lecture from a hoity-toity pointy-ear - priceless. Orcs and an elf, what the heck is going on? And then he sees the dwarf and the halfling... If this was a joke, they would at least be comfortably dry entering a tavern. With a sigh, Hans finds himself gravitating toward the only other human in the group. "Good day, sir. Miserable would be one way of putting it. But that that would be quite an understatement. Sopping wet, all alone, and lost in some Sigmar-damned parts of the woods. With all the survival skills of Altdorf-born city boy. "We need some fern flowers, they said..." the wet young man mutters and grumbles. He has already almost fallen down a few times, stepping on the slippery tree roots. "They cost... three pennies in the market. But would the great wizards open their purses? Nooo.. when there's free labor available." His breathing is becoming heavy, he tries to keep up the pace, but wasn't really ever a fit one. Perhaps he could use some exercise. "Hans can go, they said. He never gets into trouble with the wildlife." Which was true, oddly enough. All animals seem to be very friendly towards him, even beasts of the wild. So no trouble from wolves nor bears. So why it had to be bloody orcs!!??!! Big, green and nasty. Hans didn't stick around to find out what they were doing in these parts. Instead, he did as any sane man would - turned on his heels and ran. He hopes they didn't see him, but didn't exactly turn around to see if he was followed, either. But in (hopefully) losing them, he has lost himself. No idea where he is, and where is home. But hey, some voices! And not of the orcish kind. Clearly some Reikspiel, some with Altdorf accent. Hans storms in the direction of the voices. "Hello there! A wizard coming in, seeking aid!" Perception (32): 1d100 ⇒ 9 +3 SL |
