The issue with that is you have players like mine, who argued that mindscapes are OP because if the person fails their save you can just walk up and Coup De Grace them, and it led to a huge argument between me saying "thats not how your supposed to use it" and them going "but why would i ever NOT use it that way" and it was a whole debacle. Hi
Thanks Hazrod. Yeah, thats the concern-since the target is not conscious once the affect hits it is easy to neutralize/capture/etc. Basically, assuming there are multiple combatants (i.e. you are in a party), and assuming at lower levels the BBEG/dragon/etc is not immune to mind-affecting spells, one failed will saving throw ends the fight. Even if you did eventually beat the DC, because time was accelerated in the mindscape, the 5 rounds it took you to beat he DC would be 10 rounds in the 'real' world. So the 'you get a chance to escape' needs to somehow be 'you get a chance to escape in time to actually do something'. Just my two cents.

Hi,
Bit of a newbie here, so I hope this has not been asked before. Regarding Mindscapes (create mindscape, microcosm, etc.), is there any effective counter at all? Or are they (especially microcosm) basically save-or-die spells? I ask because those spells tend to be low level (for example create mindscape is level 4) and has large range/needs not even be targeted. Or is Mind Blank finally useful :) ?
Thanks,

Hi all,
Quick question on what disbelieving an illusion actually does. Lets say that there is an illusory wall. Then someone who bumps into it has a Will save to disbelieve the wall's existence. Thats good, but do they still see a wall there (even though they recognize it is not real)? Or does it disappear from their vision entirely? Similarly, if an illusionist used a spell (silent image, or one of the more advanced ones) to create a wall of very bright light (think staring into the sun) and someone disbelieved it, would they still see the very bright wall of light?
Note: I tried searching the forums but most illusion questions seem to be about when a target can disbelieve, not what disbelieving actually does.
Thanks,

Hi,
I'm pretty new and just wanted to ask a quick question. Given that a summoned monster can take damage for a party (effectively increasing party HP), can cast spells on its own (effectively increasing the number of party actions), and can give the player access to more spells (if the summon has spells), is there a reason not to focus using summoning? Is there some way to effectively deal with them? Sure you can use Banish, but that is limited to 2 HD per level, and given the number of summoned monsters can be more than 1 per spell (for instance, using a summon spell but summoning lower level summons, or with sorcerer bloodlines), it does not seem to me that the solution scales well (if I summon three creatures they all attack you, and you dispel two of them then I'm far ahead). Any thoughts?

Hi,
I was just wondering-what happens if you cast Aroden's Spellbane choosing Aroden's Spellbane as one of the banned spells (since it is explicitly stated that it is possible)? If the spell bane works against itself, it will cause itself to not function (and not ban itself)-which would allow its effect to come into play again, ad infinum. How is this resolved? Or am I misunderstanding how the spell works (specifically it stating "another" Aroden's Spellbane)? Thanks in advance.

Drejk wrote: Character with natural attacks makes single attack picked from the list of natural attacks possessed as a standard action (aka attack action) or all natural attacks possessed with a full-round action (full attack).
EDIT: Remember that breath weapon is a special ability, not a natural attack. Using it is a separate standard action ("use supernatural ability).
Thanks!
Hi,
If you use any of the Form of the Dragon line spells you get several attacks (bite, claw, etc.). When you go into melee, do you pick one attack to perform (e.i. bite) or do you perform all of them (e.i. bite, claw, and tail slap, breath weapon)? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
The Polymorph Any Object spell can have a permanent duration. If it does, does does the character still get the base save bonus from their class, or is the entire save bonus replaced by the save bonus of the creature they turned into? Also, if a player gains enough levels in their form, do they still get the +1 bonus to any ability score? Any help would be very appreciated?

Hi,
I was hoping for some help on whether wordspells are affected by anti-magic effects. I assume wordspells are negated by anti-magic fields. Is that correct? Also, how do they interact with spells like Aroden's Spellbane? Would the caster of the spellbane have to say each word-combination the caster forbids? Or can they forbid a word and all wordspells that contain that spell would be negated? Thanks in advance.
