I was at Borders when I saw one book about Rokugan and I really liked but first I'd like to know more before buying it. I'd appreciate if you guys posted any info about it or any websites I should look for. Other thing: I saw that there was another system than D20 for Rokugan.. How does that work? What's Void, clans, etc. blablbala...
Anyone knows by heart(or is willing to look up ) the abilities of all 7 parts of the rod? I intend in using them in my AOWAP but I only know the statistics of those listed in the magazines.
This thread is dedicated to those who want to share any awkward/funny'or just plain stupid comment that they heard about rpg. There goes some of mine(that I remember)
The mom of One kid who was playing D&D tells him "Son you should stop playing this game. There is no point playing it" And the kid answers "Mom of course there's a point to it. One day if you try hard you can reach level 20."
A friend of mine was trying to convince a guy to play RPG. The guy, annoyed, responds: "Why live a fantasy if you can be one." [ I didn't know you could actually be an elf wizard but..]
HOLY %^&!!! The drawings look so GOOD!!! who's the author??
I'd be very grateful if anyonecould tell me where is Sasserine and the Styes located in Greyhawk. I just can't seem to find it.
Thanks
I hope I'm not the only one when I say that I'm clueless of how the paizo rules work. First off, how do you make the illustrations and map? Do you need a scanner so you can transfer to the pc? Anyways, any info would be great- and sorry to bother, I bet there's always some guy who asks the same questions and you guys have to waste our time tying the answer.
tHanks
Anyone knows where I can find some info(class abilities, etc) about the swashbuckler class? I know it's in the Complete Warrior but i can't find mine now just wanted to know if there's any websites or anything that shows the swashbuckler class b/c one of my players is very interested on playing one, and we're gonna start playing tomorrow, so...
Thanks
I know that there's been tons of threads talking aboutthe rules and alternative rules and etc but there was never a solid argument in these threads.
I have been playing d n d for some 3 years now and although there are some flaws in the game I always disliked the fact of armor NOT giving DR and instead giving "defense" bonus. So what Im tryng to do is create an alternative system for AC and in battle in general- yes I do know that thre's even a website talking about conversions and stuff BUt what I want to see posted hear is : what alternative rules do you guys use(if you use any) and if you don't use any what you don't like about the game and would like to change
Peace
I've always had doubts about how the SR checks work. Is the spellcaster who rolls a d20 to beat the opponents' SR or the opponent who rolls to resist?.. and what are the bonus for a SR check?..Plz guys, I need the answer here, cuz I couldn't figure it out how it works in the books.
After finishing up the AOW campaign, I am thinking about something new for the next setting. Since our group is fond of the Greek gods(aka Zeus, Hades, and company) and I already have the gods and deity book, I am preety sure I'll use them in the new campaign. However, I have some questions about how to introduce them:
1-) Should I create a 'world' for the campaign or use some locations from the mythology (ex: Troy, etc). I think the last option would be weird but...
2-) How would I fit the other races in the game? I have no problems with elves or half elves, (who could be the 'chosen people of Apollo ) or the dwarfs(Hefestos) but what about halflings, gnomes and half orcs?.. Should I just exclude them??
Well, Im looking forward to your answers guys.
Hey I know GenCon is gonna be during Nov 15 to 19 but since I've never been to any Gen Con events, I have some questions to the people who have been there before:
*Is GenCon Cal going to happen during Thanksgiving? If not, so it's just a 'regular' day?
* So what do you do if you DON'T live in California?..I mean, I don't think i'd be able to attend if i live in NJ(even b/c it starts on Thursday)
Guys I'd love if you guys helped me out here, thanks
I'm thinking about DMing a campaign for D20 modern about RE, zombies and all this apocalyptic stuff that they say in the book. However, I don't think the hit point system is a good call, b/c it may look funny that your character gets shot 5 times and is still on his feet, tryng to escape from the zombie horde and find an antidote.
So I was thinking that the vitality/wound system(I really like this system)could be useful. The problem is, how should i create the templates for the zombies? Should I give them vitality points or not? And if zombies are undead(and thus no CON score), what would be their wound points?
I'd like to hear your opinions and what do you guys think about it. Also, if you know any other system that could be used here I'd be glad to hear. Thanks
Does anyone know if there is any book/magazine that talk about the class death knight? Or is it just the same as the blackguard?
OK, My players, when they are creating their characters, always take some time to figure what skills they're gonna get.
But they usually don't care about gather info skill.
And actually, from all the skills, gather info is one(in my opinion) of several "weak" skills, let's say.
You don't actually need to have it, except if you are a bard or rogue or can 'waste' skill points, and even though you usually just get 3-5 ranks on it.
The reason I think this happen is that you can simply ask questions, don't having to make a gather info test. And I think asking qeustions is part of roleplayong so I think that gather info may interfere with roleplaying in some way...
**So, what's your opinion about it??
ok, THIS QUESTION IS FOR YOU PEOPLE WHO PLAY, HAVE OR USE any OF THE iRON hEROES' rules:
*Have you ever thought about adding the other races to the game?(obviously yes..but did you alter any of the existing rules like the traits or not?)
* Do you think that the Iron Heroes' combat system can slow down the game? EX: Now that everyone has a pool, don't you guys have to waste time to calculate how many points you have in your pool, etc? Does this pool system make hard to DM Iron Heroes? I heard some DM saying that is too hard having to calculate all the pools for all the npcs in the fight.
* Do you add the magic system from D&D or preferred the one from Iron Heroes?
I hope you guys can help me out here by giving your opinion, thanks

These questions are for you people who play, have or use some of the rules of Iron Heroes:
*Have you ever thought about adding the other races (dwarf, half orc etc) to the game? If so, did you modify any of the rules? Ex: Like the 2 traits that the pcs get at the beginning
*Do you think that the rules for combat in Iron Heroes are better than the regular rules from D&D? It's obvious that the combats in Iron Heroes are supposed to last a lot more than regular fights and that the characters have more abilities by far but the thing is, doesn't the game get slowed down with all the extra abilities and stuff, like calculating how many points you have in your pool, and if every character has a pool even the Dm has to stop to calculate the npcs' pools..it can get confused and ruin the fight.
So, what I wanna know is, did you have this kind of trouble during combats or not? Any advices?
Ok, there goes my question: Your character is 40 years old and gets killed by the evil necromancer. The party is unable (not enough $ and no clerics) to revive that character. They bury the character and go back to to the evil necromancer's lair to revenge the dead character(ok, let's call him Joe)
AFTER 20 YEARS of slaying beasts and saving kingdoms from worm gods' worshipers, the party can finnaly revive Joe...and the question is: how old is Joe now?..is he still 40 or not? Do characters age when they are dead?..
Im looking for a group that plays D&D in Basking Ridge.
Im 16 and I've been playing D&D for almost 4 years, though I've never played the game in here(im from Brazil)
