I would be interested in rolling a rogue for this. Attracted to the more dungeon crawl aspect. Seems like there would be more action. Leaning toward a half orc or elf. I should be able to get something up today or tomorrow.

As the evening wanes, I retreat back to the Dwarven temple to further study the book and gift from earlier in the visit. After prayers and meditation, I cast detect magic, focusing examinations on the ring. I then cast comprehend languages (40mins per cast) and spend some time studying the text. Before retiring for the night, I meditate further to restore my default spells.

I intend to visit any local libraries or dwarven temples to further research the history of these orbs and any tangential information, mythology, folklore etc, that may help song the way. I also purchase a mountain and rock climbing kit, as available.

Gudbjörn reaches into a large pouch and retrieves a leatherbound tome, and from a second smaller pouch a small wooden stick sharpened to a point and charred. He begins to make some sort of an entry, sometimes pausing to close his eyes, and then returning to his entries.

A worn and weathered face encased in fiery red hair and a braided beard ending in weighted tassels that spread across an expansive chest appears. Hanging from his neck on an ornate metalworked chain is what looks to be the head of a great axe, encircled by a flame crest, and cast in silver. Emblazoned across the visible portion of his left cheek is yet another axe head, this time inked into his skin and further decorated with Dwarven runes, while on the other cheek, a flame has been inked, seemingly erupting from the Dwarf's eye. Across his back is slung an ornately crafted greataxe, each blade etched with a screaming dwarf head in a Dwarven-stylized motif.

So it is kings you would make us? Kingships are not handed out like so many paltry things. Either this is all a devilish ruse, or the gods have truly smiled upon us. Unlucky for me, it sounds, Dwarven gods are not the smiling type.

Yeah, I was looking at mounts, originally going with a boar and saw the woolly rhinoceros and was inspired. A mount who has the same temperament as its rider. I imagined the war barding and horns engraved with runes. All I could think was, "How freaking awesome would that be?!"

Also, in reference to a previous question, would you be willing to allow the alternate racial trait of Wyrmscourged in place of Ancient Enmity, and then also allow for Draconic to be an optional additional language, given the particular history of my character (being witness to the annihilation of his village during a dragon attack)?

My completed Cleric of Angradd for submission and approval. I used the 8k to purchase the +1 Great Axe and +2 Scale Armor, if that is permissible. I left the traits open for what may be presented or allowed. I am also interested in taking the alternate racial trait of Wyrmscourged, which plays into my background, essentially granting me bonuses and saves against dragon magic and energy weapons. I would swap this out for Hatred, the bonuses granted against traditional Dwarven enemies. With this, I would also ask that Draconic be granted as a possible bonus language, and I would swap Giant for that. Finally, I am considering taking the Crusader Cleric archetype, limiting my domain choices to one, and reducing my spells granted by one per spell level, granting me bonus combat feats instead. How does all this sound? Thanks.

Fire Domain

Granted Powers: You can call forth fire, command creatures of the inferno, and your flesh does not burn.

Fire Bolt (Sp): As a standard action, you can unleash a scorching bolt of divine fire from your outstretched hand. You can target any single foe within 30 feet as a ranged touch attack with this bolt of fire. If you hit the foe, the fire bolt deals 1d6 points of fire damage + 1 point for every two cleric levels you possess. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

Fire Resistance (Ex): At 6th level, you gain resist fire 10. This resistance increases to 20 at 12th level. At 20th level, you gain immunity to fire.

As a Cleric of Angradd, I would have curing capabilities. With spontaneous casting I would be able to support the party in that regard. It would just not be my focal point.

Regardless of which campaign comes to fruition, I would be interested in playing a Dwarven cleric of Angradd, Dwarven God of the Forge with Fire and War as my Domains. He is a combative sort, who likes to swing his great axe first and bestow blessings later. In the case of the Dragon campaign, he is seeking a weapon with which to strike at the heart of Dragon-kind, due to his ancient homeland being completely devastated during a battle between warring dragons in his youth.

In the case of the space opera, he is looking for new, mythic metals from which he can craft dedications to his deity.

The Mummy's Mask would be interesting. It caught my attention immediately, as I am a fan of the Egyptian themes. Reign of Winter would also be a good "cool" time.

If there are young nesting, there is bound to be an adult, unless these other two that were felled were the adults. That being said, there could be other nests close by with their own adults guarding their young, if they react the way most common birds do, and depending upon how territorial they are. Aside from that, I don't think there is anything more to offer us in the way of a camp site down the cliff face.

Dustæm is a Persian approximation for "my friend." Gudbjörn, despite his Nordic name, is a desert dwarf. From the descriptions I've read, they have a somewhat Persian/Sumerian theme, so I'm incorporating some "ethnic" phrases to reflect this.

Gudbjörn takes up the rear, treading cautiously behind the others and taking in as much of his surroundings as possible, keeping aware of how far into the bush they travel. In one hand he holds his great axe, and in the other, the holy symbol of Angradd, an eliptical axe head wreathed in flames with an anvil at it's center, gently rubbing it as he mutters prayers to himself.

Well, let's be on our way way then. The sun will not be staying high long, and from what I understand of the jungle, its danger grows ever greater as the sun falls. I'd like to be settled with a full belly long before that time comes.

Gudbjörn runs his hand over his mussled, salt stiffened beard. I wouldn't know, but at this point, I'd be willing to stomach anything. What say we tie 'me up and take 'me along while we search for a camp site and we can figure it out from there.

With a quietly somber bow on one knee, Gudbjörn lowers his head, My lady, it is honor to meet you. while assisting Asmodia, Gudbjörn overhears her prayers and approaches her. Excuse me for eavesdropping, but I too am a chosen of the house of Torag, Lord Angradd to be sure, the Forge-Fire, guardian of war and decider of destinies. Forgive me for saying, mi lady, but it is most surprising to find a tall folk in devotion to the Great Father of Creation. Though not unheard of; it is simply a pleasant surprise. Well met.

You misunderstand me, my friend. I was referencing the dwarf with the bow, obviously some sort of hunter or tracker with that shot of his. I was suggesting that you and I, and that other one over there, Joll, if I'm not mistaken nodding to Joll take care of the fallen, while the others scout an area little more secluded from this beach.

I hate not giving them a proper burial, and burning them might also attract unwanted attention. Shallow graves may have to suffice. I will at least pray over and bless their bodies. May they lay peacefully in their graves as they begin their next journey. In the mean time, it might be a good idea for you to put those ranging skills to work while the three of us (nodding towards Joll and Inti) make amends with the less fortunate souls.
