Looking forward to the updates. I started my group last month, so far they've been pretty smart and cautious. I had to advance template and max hp because there are 6 party members:
Ninja, Barbarian, Cleric, Sorc, Monk, Inquisitor.

Their attack on the lodge was interesting. After encountering the guards on the trail the agreed the Ninja should solo scout up ahead. A few good rolls and timing things right, he observed them and returned. The plan was the Ninja and Monk get on the roof well after dark and smoke them out by clogging the chimney over the main room and kitchen. The sorc and the barbarian took the back porch, the inquisitor and cleric the front as they weren't sure which door they would run out of (or come out to investigate). Several good rolls later on climbs and stealth and 2 hero point burns they made it into the appropriate positions. They got cocky with the bandits until a well placed backstab and some zombies getting up off the floor a few rounds later. They pulled it off though.

Wow, I like this party. Makes me wish I were close enough to game with you all.

Woot, lunch time reading material! Tell your player I love the journal!

I'm an hour(ish) north of Baltimore and ready for winter to end so I can get my car out of the garage and get some spirited driving in. At least this round of snow is light for us.

SD - going through withdrawal symptoms here! I was really enjoying your chronicler's writings, the Orc Ranger right? Anyway I'm thinking some kind of bribes are in order since I know how much every day life gets in the way of our favorite hobby!

On a side note, I'm starting this one soon, my first Pathfinder AP, on Mar 9.
Characters in development:
Oldest son: Egotistical Elf Wizard
Youngest son: Slightly deranged Orc Barby
Brother: not sure of race Inquisitor

How far along is your party now?

Nothing firmed up with anyone yet so two slots are open.

I anticipate launching the campaign on March 9, please PM me if you are interested and need more details.

I have checked your order and updated the replacement to Priority shipping. It looks like it should be shipping out of the warehouse soon.

Thanks!

Awesome thanks for checking on it for me.

I'm much more of a forum reader than poster, so thanks to everyone who has shared input on the topic so far - lots of good food for thought here.

After giving it some additional thought myself (and reading everyone else's thoughts) I think for me, personally, what bothers me is that I put a lot of preparation into each game session (as do most GMs). I thoroughly enjoy that part. The *actual* running of the game, I don't enjoy as much.

Where I derive my enjoyment (from that aspect of the game) is watching my players enjoying themselves. If they're having a great time then it makes all of the preparation, all of the time/money spent on various things to enhance the game/etc worthwhile. I like knowing they are having fun. When I'm on the other side of the GM's screen, I like to think the GM is thinking the same thing (sadly, not always true, but I digress....).

Point is, I can't expect my players to want to enjoy the game in the same way that I would in their shoes. Where I want to be surprised by the twists and turns of the story, maybe someone else doesn't. So if they are enjoying the game the way that they choose to enjoy it (even if it makes sense to me) then so be it - as long as it isn't detracting from others' enjoyment (hasn't seemed to yet) - as long as everyone is enjoying themselves.

So for the time being I plan to let it go, I think.*

*(reserves right to completely change mind based on how things go during this Sunday's game session)

Unless it is ruining the fun for everyone else you've probably made the best decision.

Thanks again for the great input. I hadn't thought of the advanced template that will get some consideration. I'll let you know how it goes.

3 good seasoned 3 moderately experienced. I'm an old school 4d6 person no one has approached about using a point buy yet. All this info will be very useful, guess I may have to adapt on the fly a bit.
