Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak will take a side position about midway through the group going from side to side looking for more possible traps.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak shakes himself off after he gets out of the water. "Brrr, that's cold."

After making a quick check of his inventory and making sure that everything is still there, he'll look around, "I hope that's all the swimming we have to do, it's still a bit early in the year here... So, which way from here, and you think we can make it before sundown hits these accursed woods?"

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

After falling into the water, Grn'nak will try to splash his way to the top and swim the rest of the way across.

Swim: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak will keep the rope out there, as long as it's close to Mezari and Felmor. Once they get past how far his rope is thrown, or it drifts further away, he'll reel it back in and hold it for another toss if necessary.

Once everyone makes it across, he'll start across the rocks, and try to make it to the other side that way.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak seeing Mezari sink under water will gather up the length of rope and try and toss the rope so that it will stretch across (and hopefully sink some) where she went down.

Not sure how you'd like to run this. I'll add an attack roll, but if you'd rather some other way, let me know. Thanks.

To hit area: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak seeing many of the folks attempting to brave the river, takes out his length of rope and gets ready to try and throw a line to anyone who might be swept away. He will take up a downstream position by a little bit to give himself a little leeway in timing.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak will examine the surroundings, and try to see how deep the river actually is at this break.

Perception 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

Also, to try and determine if there might be a tree close enough to the other side that might be able to be used to tie a rope to and get it back across for folks to use in crossing.

Turning to Brit, "Is this the normal ford, or do you know of a good shallow up river to cross?"

Also, I will be out of town tonight and tomorrow. This will probably be my last post till Sunday. Please DMNPC Grn'nak as you wish to help keep the story moving. Thanks.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Sorry, yeah. I'll pack up what might be sellable, and fits, into my backpack, and prepare to follow Brit. I figure we can try and salvage/sell what we can when we get back to town. I'm assuming the bow and armor won't really fit into the back pack and the bolts will go back to the ladies.

"Hrnnh, this might be worth a few coins when we get back."

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak will pull out the bolts, strip the armor, sword and coin from the body. He'll also grab the helm, shortbow, and any remaining arrows and take them back to where the rest of the group is gathered and pile them up there.

"Other than his skivvies, this is pretty much all the bugger had with him. Anyone have interest in any of this?"

Grn'nak will then defeather one of the birds and toss if over to the fox. "Here ya go pup."

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak gives his leg a couple of test stretches, and looks it over to truly see that the effects from the disgusting beast is gone. He nods in appreciation to Armandia, "Thanks again milady. It feels good as new."

Grn'nak will then head on over and give the hobgoblin a thorough search, and return with anything that's remotely worth something.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

If Armandia moves to give Grn'nak flanking at H-17, he will step forward to J-17 and make an attack at the flanked fowl.

Otherwise, he will move around the bird to H-18 to flank the fowl with Felmor...sorry, sometimes I can't help myself. Anyways, if it's difficult terrain, he'll have to move to J-18 and straight up to H-18 provoking the AoO. Elsewise, he'll take a more sweeping route K-18 to J-19 up to I-19 and back diagonal to H-18 and avoid the AoO...again all if not able to setup the flank with Armandia which is the easiest route. However, since he goes last, he may have to adjust movement based on other factors.

With a grin, Grn'nak steps forward to attack. "Mmm...looks like chicken tonight.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 2 = 20 Damage: 1d12 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 4 + (3) = 9

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Grn'nak pulls his axe off his back and growls at the advancing bats.

He'll stand guard over Brit as he stands up from being prone, and ready his action to attack either bat if it comes in reach.

AoO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 Damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak will stop 10' back from the scene and wait to see if Brit can calm the creature down. If he can, he will slowly approach and try his hand and removing/disabling the device. If he can not, he'll stand back and look around the area.

"What say you there Brit? Is the fellow going to be alright?"

Disable Device:

Spoiler:
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 (Assuming it counts as a trap, otherwise +6)

Perception:

Spoiler:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak moves a bit slower while following Brit trying not to startle the animal anymore than necessary.

"If you can calm him down Brit, I might be able to remove that trap from his paw."

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

"Thanks milady. In regards to the shaman, that's what the sign about the buggers neck says. It's a mystery as to exactly what it may mean."

Grn'nak nods to Brit. "Lead on. The sooner we leave this god forsaken area, the better.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak tries to wipe any remaining gore off his axe before replacing it in its strap.

"Hrrghn...wonder if he was the shaman, or just cursed by one?", while pointing to the discarded placard.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak gives the body a swift kick in the side, struggling to get his ire back under control. Stepping back from the scene, he walks a couple steps and grimaces in pain, reminding him of the injury inflicted in the short, but intense combat. Grn'nak takes out his waterskin and tries to wash out any dirt or gunk that may have been on those long dead hands.

"Gah, I hope we don't run into much more of those. The dead should have more sense than to go walking about."

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak lets out a roar of pain. Any misconceptions about fighting the dead flees his mind as he takes a (hopefully) better swing at the beast, trying to put it back to rest.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 Damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Just to let you know I will be out of town until Sunday now. If you would, please just DMNPC Grn'nak to keep things moving and I'll post again when I get back.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Upon seeing the undead nature of the creature in front of him, Grn'nak's blood runs cold. He's used to seeing the normal blood and bones from wanton acts of violence against mooks who didn't want to pay...but the abomination in front of him is something completely different. Without being able to think of anything else in face of the vile being, he gives a great overhead chop at the thing.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

"There's a small humanoid about 40' out in the woods. It's no bigger than the gnome."

Grn'nak will then start to make his way towards the figure angling to place himself between it and the middle of the party. He will draw his axe while moving. He will double move to try and get into position.

If it tries to move by towards the group (and it's possible) I'd take the AoO.

AoO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 Damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Looking at Grn'nak. "Milon I think will be very grateful if we get what Laurel needs to help cure this sickness. Should make it easier for you to get work through him when the time comes."

"Hmm, I hope so. However, I'm sure that thug at Laurel's hut will need a "talking" to before too long. Heh. I'd just like to leave some of that behind me... So, how come you never ended up working for the consortium there Brit? It seems like it might be the easiest way in town to earn a living...as long as you're not actually doing the lumberjack work anyways."

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak follows Britton, and keeps a watch around looking for any signs of snares, pitfalls, or possibly bear traps like Milon warned us about.

"I'll try and keep an eye out for any surprises here."

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak nods.

"As long as you know the way, I'm good to go."

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Quick question for Allan...

"Now Ulizmila's hut...its a two hour hike west from the elder tree of the forest, if you get lost get to higher ground and look for a small clearing...

The closest and safest is Droskar's Crucible, its only small but you can't miss it, just keep travelling east from Ulizmila's hut then when you reach the edge of the forest

Sorry, is the edge of the forest a back track from Ulizmila's hut, or should that be keep traveling west, or am I confusing something. I just trying to get a picture in my mind of our travels. Thanks.

Grn'nak looks to Britton. "As long as you can find us this elder tree and keep us heading in one direction that should be good enough."

As Felmor steps forward and asks his question Grn'nak grunts..."Hmm, yeah that might be good information to know before cutting through."

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak will follow Britton, and try to appear as he has a reason to be here.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak moves forward, "Yeah, we're here on consortium business."

Bluff:

Spoiler:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak will rush to catch up with Britton. "So, how well do you know this Milon, Brit? Is he friendly or like the folks from the line?"

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak gives a grunt in acknowledgment to Laurel, and makes his way outside. Once there, he takes notice of the little witch, and makes his way over to wait by her.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

"That sounds good. Why don't we track down this Milon, and see what he might know about this witch, and maybe if he knows of any dwarvish ruins in the area?"

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

After listening to Mezari, Grn'nak smiles. "Good news indeed. I definitely prefer sleeping by the hearth than in the woods."

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak, seeing that Brit seems to know the healer, stands in the background to see what she needs of us.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak follows Brit into the healer's hut, glancing around to see that the folks milling about don't harbor anymore thugs. Inside he sighs, and shakes it off, and looks around to see what the healer may have.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak lets out a loud growl as he takes a slow step to the side to get some clearance. He snarls, "I've been polite, I'm here to try and help, and yet you stand in our way. Kreed may run this town, but do you think he's going to pay to support your family once your gone? I strongly suggest you let Brit by, or we can find out exactly how your family will get by..."

Intimidate:

Spoiler:
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak steps up next to Britton.

"Let this man pass, if you truly wish this healer beat this plague, she'll need supplies. The sherrif asked us to aid the town, and we agreed. The sooner we can get Laurel's list of needed herbs, the sooner we can recover them for her from the forest. So, again, I implore you to let this man pass to speak with Laurel."

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak joins with the group, but tends to keep the group between himself and the line of obviously infected locals.

"Let's talk to this healer, and be away. I'll fight monsters and vermin any day, but the plague..."

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak wanders in rubbing his eyes looking for the rest of the volunteers. He gives a quick nod in greeting, and mumbles...

"Sorry for the delay. I couldn't quite get the crick out of back from that chair this morning."

After looking around, and noticing that the sherrif hasn't made his appearance yet, he quiets down and looks at the folks milling about.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

"Alright. I've still got some trail rations left from my trip into town, but I should get to the inn and see if I can get a spot close to the fire for the evening."

Grn'nak offers a short wave to the group, and heads back to the inn for the night.

Back at the inn, he'll pay for his spot on by the hearth, and ask the barkeep to wake him before dawn when the man starts to open up. He'll then nurse his drinks while steadily taking a table closer to the fire as they become available during the night.

Barring odd occurrences during the evening, he'll be at the herbalist come morn.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

"I'm called Grn'nak, Sherrif. I will be here."

He stands slightly off to the side to get a better view of his new 'companions', and to learn their names.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

In response to Britton...

"Thanks for the heads up mate. I'll try and look up this Milon in the morning, and see if he may need a strong back or extra set of hands for anything."

He tosses another silver on the bar for another round of ale.

Later in regards to Sherrif Baleson.

Grn'nak pushes himself up from the bar and takes a good long look at the sherrif.

"Evening sherrif. I'm new in town here, so I may not know all of why some of the locals don't want to help out. However, I'm here looking for work, and I'll help out with what I can. I do request that you give me a good word with any potential local employer I may find when this is over. Fair enough?"

He leans back against the bar and picks up his ale to take a slow drink while scanning the bar to see if anyone else may take the bait as well.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak gives a wry smile toward the man.

"Dwarf-strong? I don't know as I have taste for stone or metal, but being able to identify the meat in front of me is better than I used to have."

"What is going on in town? I'm used to people keeping their cards close to vest, but it seems like folks aren't willing to even discuss the weather, let alone anything else."

He flags the barkeep down with his mug.

"An ale for me and this man here."

He drops another silver on the bar.

When the mug's arrive, he picks his up and turns to the man raising his mug in half salute.

"Name's Grn'nak."

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak enters late, used to working the 'night shift' as it were. He slowly scans the room with a slight scowl on his face as he stands in the doorway. After taking note of the room, and its activities, he wanders over towards the bar.

"Barkeep! Ale and food." As he lays some coins on the counter.

After receiving his meal, he downs it in large, quick bites and continues to scan the room. When done, he settles his gaze on a brown haired fellow at the bar who appears to be nursing an ale.

This would be Britton I'm talking to

"You there. You seem to be from around these parts. Would you be willing to answer a few questions about what's around these parts for a drink or two?"

Spoiler:

Trying to figure out what I may know about Kabran and the Consortium and their status in town.

Knowledge(Local)= 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

I would also like to try and gather what information I can from some of the locals at the bar in regards to the above as well, if possible.

Diplomacy = 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1

Grn'nak fleshed out a little bit. I need to add up remaining gold and I might clean up the backstory a little.

Let me know if there's any issues or questions.
