My response to this forum wasn't an invitation to pm me your ridiculous manifesto of haterdom Tharak or whatever you are ... just go simmer in your foulness somewhere else.

Money spent on a game shouldn't be considered an 'investment' unless you love to be disappointed ... your expectations are unlikely to be met if it's an investment to you.

It is amazing to me that some people think the game isn't worth $15/mo but spend hours complaining and trying to push their issues on the forum.
If I felt the game wasn't worth playing then I certainly wouldn't waste my time on the forum under a multitude of aliases.

Regarding the actual point of Goodfellow's post: I am glad to see Kenton get some help trying to make Aragon work.

Endless forum flows
Belching vile spite and venom.
It's a game. Move on.

All the wasted hours of b@@*%ing at each other in the forums to wage petty battles in your war of misinformation - sad. I understand that much of this is because you are bored of gathering beast pelts and yew logs.

How about this as a new starting point:

All agreements between Golgotha and EBA are considered null and void.

Expect to be attacked anywhere on the map no matter who you are.

Rebuild agreements as you leaders see fit and inform your citizens. Publish the agreements publically so that so one can deny what was agreed to.

Keep calm and kill Bonedancers.

Love always,
Grip

April Fool's aside I think it would be completely fun if the EBA did go to the Dark Side of the Force

player content would surely be more interesting :)

Wait .... EBA isn't evil?

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that due to the potential terrorist threats posed by other settlements, in order to ensure the survival of The Free Settlers, I will be taking a firmer hand in leading the Company. Specifically, for their own safety, all members, instead of being free and equal citizens with voting rights on company policy, will be part of an intricate caste system. So join the Free Settlers if you wish to play as:

- A slave.

- An indentured servant.

- A serf.

There is a possibility for advancement in the ranks for those who work particularly hard, however. Especially skilled crafters with lots of recipes will have the option (at my sole discretion) of becoming minimum wage workers. Note that the only legal currency allowed for trade in The Free Settlers is TansyCoin. All copper, silver, or gold accrued while farming must be paid directly to me in tax.

Anyone who questions our policy will be summarily executed. You can find out more about our new policy here.

ALL HAIL THE NEW BENEVOLENT DICTATOR!

Grip's Mobile Forge appreciates Canis Castrum as a most valued customer.

Cross-promotion is awesomesauce.

I will reiterate my opinion, this is not a big enough issue for GW to dedicate any development time to. There are far more important systems and fixes that need to be done first.

There is no more important development issue than creating an environment where people can play without verbal abuse and harassment. I play the game almost every day and those of us who do actually play need it done.

Do I respawn? Or shall I just lay on the ground hoping that a teammate throws me a heal or three?

Notice that I have a choice to make above the chat box. Only MOSTLY dead...

And from a teammate's perspective...

Attempting to heal the dead

F$*& profanity (filters)!

Your kids will learn the words soon enough, might as well be when you are there to explain them.

Do you really want some random new account to show up named those words? How about if a toon pops into chat named "(Your name here) Suckmycockyoub%+#%"?

How about when some random troll comes in a starts spouting "Suck my fat dick" and when people ask it to stop it tells multiple people to "Go f%$$ yourself"? This and more is what players were subjected to last night.

It's not the words themselves but how the attention craving animal uses them to derail the game that is the problem.

If it's inappropriate enough to be filtered here, then it's inappropriate enough to be filtered in-game. Keep the foulness and vulgarity to your group on TS, Vent or Mumble if you wish.

For the second time in a week a troll has shown up in game with foul abusive language.

The first incident occurred during business hours a few days ago and was handled in short order by Ryan himself. Thank you Ryan.

But this random abusiveness from people clearly not interested in the game must stop.

Put in a squelch function, profanity filter, monitor 24/7 ... do something to get this stopped. I know people who play PFO with their kids; we should not have to suffer these idiots.

Perhaps an option would be to create a "board of directors" ... The "Board" would provide some minimal function of oversight and advise, perhaps even just periodic reviews of policy, audits of communal requests, or judicial reviews of conflict with(in) PFU.

There is no need for large settlement tentacles in PFU. That will only turn PFU into another vehicle for fatcat politicking. PFU is a refuge (for up to 90 days) for new players to learn the game without being or feeling beholden to large companies or settlements.

What PFU does is extremely public and transparent and has no need for a board of your description.

I have spent 20 hours or so gathering peacefully and can count the number of people I have seen outside of towns in that time on one hand, and have never been attacked. The possibility of getting killed in game is greatly blown out of porportion. Currently with the low population I think the possibility of getting pvp killed is significantly less then accidentally skirting some mordant spire or ogres too close and dying

that seems true ... for now...

But let's keep that under wraps shall we? Wouldn't want anyone to take it as a challenge to find ya ... *scampers off into the trees*

People need to understand, this is a griefer game in that in order for one group or person to derive any actual entertainment value someone else has to suffer grief.
