Appearance:
Terribly ugly, even for a half-orc, Grimward's body (espcially his face) is marked with terrible scars and burns that refuse to heal. Despite this, he does his best to keep his appearance otherwise tidy, with his shoulder length hair tied back. He is otherwise solidly built and fairly tall, giving him an impressive, imposing stature. He possesses piercing, red eyes that seem to almost glow when he is angered.
Background:
Born in the city of Alkenstar in the Mana Wastes, Grimward was the son of a half-orc mercenary and a local barmaid. He grew up in a poor family (his father was slain soon after his birth) but was well cared for. He proved hardy, strong and had a knack for getting others to trust him.
Still, he was bored with his dull lot in life, working at a small tavern and set off north to Nex in the hopes of a more adventurous life. Like his father.
Alas, his small group were beset on the way by mutant bandits, scattering them and forcing him to hiding. A freak mana storm struck soon after, slaying what remained of his group and leaving him with terrible scars and burns. And something more.
To his shock, the primal magics that had ravaged him also left behind a trace of divine power. He continued to head north, beginning to understand his new-found powers and used them to protect himself on his journey. Then the nightmares began.
Terrible visions struck him at random times. Erratic and vague at first, but slowly the thoughts took shape. Driven into action by these urgings, he traveled to Taldor, hoping to prevent a terrible catastrophe. He, and a group of allies, succeeded. Alas, they had to burn down the fleet of Cassomir in the process.
Personality:
Despite his vile appearance, Grimward is not a terrible person, but months of verbal abuse in addition to unpleasant nightmares have taken its toll on his once jovial character. He has since become paranoid and suspicious of others, although he continues his divine charge without hesitation. In a way, he is secretly glad for the chance to become something great, even if he is distrusted and even despised for it.
He understands his own physical impairment and responds to criticism with good humour, although his orcish temper can sometimes get the better of him with serious threats being responded to with glaring eyes and a low growl. Behind his smiling lips are sizable canines (gifts from his orcish ancestry) which he occasionally bares at potential enemies. Even so, such incidents are rare and he admits to feelings of guilt after such encounters.
His status has a survivor is something he takes pride in and guffaws under his breathe at the 'noble' folk who would look down at him.
