Kinky paces the floor of his office at the Thieves Guild warehouse. His mind torn between the business of the day and his outrage at that doppelganger’s antics. Not that murder bothered him. It was the audaciousness of that shifty monstrosity! Killing one of his marks without paying for the privilege. What was that faceless amateur up to? What was in it for him? AND WHY WASN’T I GETTING MY CUT!!!!
Kinky eyes Silver Toung and Irony; his twin rapiers; thinking that he would get his cut one way or another. He almost doesn’t notice the door opening. It was Ginger Snap. She was bringing the Guild’s dues from Sneaky Shae’s (the brothel). Ginger was a trusted member in good standing and the busy Madam had asked her to handle this errand for her.
Ginger Snap and Mangy Marge had been making friends with young ladies at the inns and taverns around town. They were an unlikely pair of drinking buddies. Both played it like they were truly degenerate alcoholics but actually kept their wits while working. Marge was an old hand at rolling johns and Ginger Snap was the perfect bait. Ginger was learning the ropes from a real pro and legitimately enjoyed working with the old girl. The two had rolled quite a few travelers with a bit of flirting from Ginger Snap and an expertly slipped mickey from Mangy Marge. Amongst the locals they only targeted the guys that the bar maids loved to hate. Handsy, abusive, and cheap. The wenches appreciated a little revenge and got a cut, too. Girls have got to stick together. Ginger and Marge recruited talent for the brothel from among them as well. The two were building a good network of working girls and a blacklist of disreputable townies while they were at it. As a result Sneaky Shae’s was starting to have a good reputation as the best little whorehouse in Nulbish.
Bendra Jooblins was one of the first recruits from the beggars guild to show any promise. She was obviously not a beggar, but had been recruited that night when everyone was run out of the squats by Orsino and his thugs. She had leadership qualities, and legs that went allll the way up! Bendra had risen to Madam almost as soon as she entered the establishment. Even that first night in the crypt she had attracted Drannoch’s attention. The big man didn’t have the guile to hide it or the savvy to approach her with anything resembling class. She had both qualities in spades, and she knew how business was done. Unlike that damned doppelganger! That was it! Kinky had it! He couldn’t get it out of his mind! The thought distracted him the whole time he was fornicating with Ginger Snap. After giving her a healthy tip in addition to her usual fee (-10gp) he pulled up his big boy pants, put on his oversized shoes and vowed to figure out what that rogue doppleganger was up to.
Kinky would keep five of the Shifty Six busy. He’d call them to his office and give them a special assignment. They would be surveilling the Temple of Hextor. This might come in handy if we were going to frame the Hextorians in the Horned King’s Court. He set them on watch in twenty-four seven in shifts. Always a team of three discreet facechangers on watch. They would study schedules and follow the priests to establish their habits. Report their names and practice making their faces for the Killer Clown. Kinky promises the five doppelgangers 20 gp each for the special assignment. Ten up front for each, just to wet the beak. Then another ten when he was satisfied with their stake out. They were under strict orders to report to him three times a day and Kinky uses the meetings to engage them in conversations about the guild and their little gang as well as gathering the intel. They rotate out of their positions, so he has time to talk to each of them alone.(-100 gp)
Once they are one their way Kinky sends for Meat Hooks and his crew: Taslo Voggendorf, Ursk Grottle, Gimpy, and Snaggle Teeth. They are the hand-picked group of psychopaths that have been doing the guild’s dirty work for a few months now. Meat Hooks called them the Butchers. Kinky rewards them each for showing up and promises them more if things get ugly. 10 gp each for now and another 20 if there is any real action (-50gp + -100gp).
Of course, he could ask Herzog and Drannoch to help handle this, but Kinky feels the burning desire to take matters into his own hands. Afterall this is about turf. Respect must be earned, and nobody fears the guy hiding behind his hulking disease ridden bodyguard. They fear the bodyguard… and his chlamydia. NO! Kinky needed them to fear the guild. You couldn’t run the underground by parading around an armor clad, syphilitic murder machine. As nice as it was for Drannoch to lend a boil-covered hand in the most critical situations, Kinky needed the Guild to take care of itself.
Kinky has the Butchers on standby in the warehouse. During the first day of meetings with the doppelgangers and gathering intel on the Hextorians. Kinky takes the Butchers to the area where the murder occurred. He investigates the man who had disappeared and reappeared again.
Kinky is looking to find his location from the people in the neighborhood and then plans of cornering him with the Butchers and feeding him the Shape.....stay tuned to find out what happens next

Upon our return to Nulbish... Hearing the news of Almor, Dame Caladwen and Sir Gavalain of House Rax-Nyrond unfortunate demise Grimauldi is glad to have never made contact with the Nyrondy agents. His signet ring weighs heavy in his pocket and he decides to try again to contact his mother thru the Hags' eye. Knowing that the signet ring can be used to scry on him he drops it in a flask leftover from one of his healing potions, fills it with water, wraps it in his cloak and secures it in the chest we took form the Thieves' guild. Maybe that'll do?! Then he pushes the chest into a closet.
In the late of night Grimauldi tears the head off of a doll that he stole from one of the scullery maid's sweet children and replaces it with the gruesome eyeball. He sets it upon the mantel as an audience of one and proceeds to perform a series of short pantomimes hoping to convey all he has learned to the coven...
He makes a model of The Malvolio out of pillows and sheets, crowned by a pot with painted on horns. He dances around it pretending to yell in it's ear and bashing it over the head with a large wooden spoon. Finally he pulls a paper sword out of it's hand scowls at it and drops it back in the dummies lap.
Next, Grimauldi mimes being kidnapped by throwing a sack over himself and kicking around on the floor, he thinks this rather funny and laughs aloud wishing his friends could see him. He emerges from the sack with a blindfold on and ties himself to a chair. Struggles against the faux knots for a moment then relaxes. He holds up a parchment with the word Intermission written on it and places it in front of the hag doll's seat so that he can't be seen changing into costume as his father; the King of Nyrond. He rearranges the pillows and pot into a doll of himself turning it around to show the painted jesters hat on the opposite from the horns. Intermission ends and the show begins again. First he paces gesturing sternly in a mock interrogation at the jester dummy. Then he becomes more and more affectionate with the doll. Embracing it as his son, then kissing it on it's pot, and eventually burying his head it it's lap and performing fellatio on a rather large carrot and humping it till the chair falls over.
Turning toward the audience and bowing, Grimauldi doffs the paper crown spins it around his finger and licks his lips. Approaching the mantel where the Hags' eye watches, he pulls out another hand made sign and places it in front for the doll. This time it reads "I miss you cooking Ma! Send word to 18 Grimauldi Way, Warehouse District, Nulbish c/o Kinky the Clown"
Exhausted and unsure of the message's receipt Grimauldi collapses into bed. He dreams of being executed by Malvlio in front of the walls of Rel Astra and watches thru his own eyes as his severed head is catapulted over the walls. Then another dream of being placed on it's thrown as the city burns, but behind the thrown hidden in shadow The Horned King's creepy sage Selephotsiphem cackles drowning out the Clown Prince's own laughter.
Performance check:
Waking the next morning he returns the Hags' eye to it's place around his neck, burns the incriminating props, cleans off the pot's hilarious paint job, and decides he doesn't know if Mom got the message of if she will be of any help at all.
He retrieves the signet ring from the flask in the chest. Knocks on it three times, holds it to his ear, the says into it. "Your agents have been executed Dad. So sorry. I had never made contact. The Horned King is Mad.....I'm going to visit my cousin in her comfy prison"
He stops by the kitchen to drop off the pot and picks up breakfast for himself and the imprisoned lady and himself and heads upstairs.

Drax the Invulnerable wrote: Godsday, 18th of Planting, 600 CY; interior of the Fiend-Sage's library within the Grand Palace of Rel Astra:
Drax The Invulnerable, animus tyrant of Rel Astra and current host of the legendary Eye of Vecna, mechanically paces clockwise around his chief advisor, the powerful greater demon known as the Fiend-Sage, which towers over Drax at more than twice the undead archmage's standing height. The Fiend-Sage stands motionless at the center of its great library within the Grand Palace, silently observing the lurching gait of the obsessive monarch as Drax completed another circuit around the great molydeus demon.
"The Eye grows ever more insistent," observes Drax, muttering more to himself than to the Fiend-Sage. "It will not wait much longer .... It compels me, entreating me with ever greater urgency, whispering in a fell voice that I alone can hear .... It desperately longs to be reunited with the Hand, but also with the lesser relics -- the so-called Fragments .... It pleads with and cajoles me one minute, and threatens me with dire warnings the next .... We can delay no longer! Drax halts in front of the Fiend-Sage, glaring up at the monstrous wolf-headed greater demon.
Drax's own right eye, no more than a tiny tongue of ghastly greenish flame flickering in the black hollow of its socket, was sharply contrasted by the dreadful Eye of Vecna implanted in his left eye socket, which was dull, black, and seemingly lifeless, like a tiny and shriveled orb of necrotic flesh or coagulated blood. The Fiend-Sage met the undead tyrant's unholy gaze with its own blazing amber demon's eyes, and the black lips of its muzzle peeled back in a silent snarl, revealing pearly canine teeth like curved daggers. "What does Your Immortal Majesty propose?" inquired the molydeus in its deep, demonic, snarling voice.
"I will assemble an elite company for a most perilous expedition into the Vast Swamp, to seek the fabled Tomb of Horrors, wherein the...
Noooooo....my Daddy's peeps are dead!

Smugglers, strongarm robbers, and highway men stash their loot and lay low in the warehouse @ B; under the management of Mangy Mar, Stuttering Saul, and Slippery Pete. The truly demented and murderous will operate out of the Jail's secret cellblocks @ L; directly under Kinky with the assistance of Gimpy, and Snaggle Teeth.
The Shifty Six will be treated as a special force and answer to the three of us directly. In their free time they will move between the parts of the org. --I'd like to spend another 150gp spoiling these guys and securing their loyalty
Mike- if you want I can roll some investigation and diplomacy checks as well.
When we have decided more about our block in the north of the city I have some plans for the Guild there as well
Kinky's gold and effort is well spent, seemingly securing their loyalty and raising morale. With a high enough Perception or Sense Motive check, Kinky can accurately appraise and assign his followers to optimum productivity, generating additional income equal to 1d% x 1d6 gp over the next month. Diplomacy check

In the court of the Horned King Grimauldi has been developing several assets
- Carbuncle the imp
- Kaylin and the household staff
- Princess Leanna (House Rax Nyrond) a marriage suitor / hostage
- Kaybertious Pennington - The civil engineer
Grimauldi informing Malvolio and the court of progress in the city by means of extensive flattery. Always blaming the state of affairs on the deposed former ruler of Nulbish.
The jester frequently appears at the site of completed works and cajoles locals into parading around the projects applauding the workers and appreciating the designs.
His relationship with Kaylin and the staff of Skullguard is enhanced by bringing goods back from his trips. Spices, wines and spirits, and of course good old fashioned bribes. -- He spends 100 gp on this effort -- Some of those goods make it to his cousin in her tower and Kaybertious to a lesser degree.
--What do imps like as treats? Fresh meat? Trinkets? Games?--
As a result of Kinky's generosity toward his followers and the friendly hostages in Castle Skullgard (including indulging Carbuncle's fondness for perverse and deviant games and riddles), he feels more confident in their loyalty and morale.
Does either Kinky or Grimaldi openly wear the royal signet ring of Nyrond given to him by his father, King of Nyrond Lynwerd? Perception check it is...

Does either Kinky or Grimaldi openly wear the royal signet ring of Nyrond given to him by his father, King of Nyrond Lynwerd? He doesn't dare to show the ring to the court or the guild. A mixture of excitement and fear surround the prospects that it represents. He fingers it in his pocket while dreaming of presiding over the Kingdom of Nyrond. He toys with the idea of showing it to his companions but has yet to decide how to do so.

Orsino; Ivid VIII wrote: The Group's List of Places to Build in Our Neighborhood:
1) A Visitor Center / Custom House where visitors to Nulbish have to 'check-in' not necessarily to be taxed but for *us* to see what they have (and we can use it to gather information about what enters the city)
2) A Fresh Water depot where Nulbish citizens can come for water (a nice place for us to have a spy eavesdropping on a place everyone comes to)
3) A hidden place where we three can change our Identities
4) A warehouse where we can store visitors' goods
5) A brothel (another nice place for us to have a spy eavesdropping on a place everyone comes to -- and even earn a little money as income)
6) A bank or strongbox location that we secure
7) A Pawn Shop
8) A Tavern/Inn/performance center
9) A Brewery
10) A Teamsters Guildhall / Beggars Union house
It seems like we need a map to decide on locations exactly but the list is great. My first thought is that the Green Knights Grotto is the spot for the customs house. It keeps being pointed at in our conversations. So maybe another building should be repurposed for the Inn/Theater

I think that the work of adding some access from the outside needs to be done anyway. I thought of have a couple of secret doors to different areas so we can use it for multiple reasons without bumping into each other. The Arkham asylum take on the jail is what I'm going for. I know you are not a Batman fan, but Arkham asylum is a place where a mad clown crime boss cracks his deadly jokes. So it's definitely my desire to emulate that with my most twisted criminals. However 8 levels of jail can house a lot of mayhem.
I figured we were trying to fill out some ideas between sessions rather then waiting for sundays.

I missed a few names on the list so someone else might fill that out

By forming a crew out of Guild members and embedding them with the city works and stealing materials we have managed the work without letting outsiders know about the additional structures or tipping off the guard.
Meat Hooks turns out to be a decent contractor and takes Pork Chop, Mush Mouth, and Yeller Belly under his wing as apprentice craftsmen.
At the jail they work with Feyderin Standt to create a few secret doors accessing two unused areas on abandoned floors for Kinky's abattoir.

I'm finally onboard with time to read and post. I'll follow suit and post NPCs, and locations of interest in Nulbish
