Hell Spawned Bastard that he is, Grigor says sourly. He touches the scorched skin of his face gingerly. Least I kept my eyebrows... didn't expect him to breathe fire like that.

Grigor draws both is blades but turns off to the side pointing in the wrong direction while keeping the creature in his peripheral vision. That's no blade - come closer fiend and I'll show you a real one!
Whore-poxed..., Grigor swears hissing in pain as he is attacked from behind. Luckily his armour keeps the blade out of anything vital.

Nah - figured. I used the same mechanic in my carrion crown game. There are times when a roll etc just won't work. The absence of something is a good tension tool.
Guys, am I over playing things here? Don't want to overwhelm other peoples RP or input in the game. Let me know if you want more of the same or less or if you want me to be a bit more different in my approach. So far its been on me because I have the underworld contacts - as we move into church settings etc, I am happy to RP a more subservient Grigor and hand over the spot light to the holy rollers etc. Same goes for libraries and so forth.

Grigors previous engagements with Vasily seems to have engendered a feeling of trust, however misplaced, with the cutpurse.

I think a lot of people are thinking there is something in it... enough to get some attention - mine too. I imagine these gentles will have a question or three of their own but when they are finished? Who do we need to talk to for something a bit more first hand with a local flavour?

Vasily. He's a petty thief who lingers in major taverns at night looking for cheap work for hire, or someone with a large purse despite their heavy night drinking. Apart from that? He's not a bad fellow and what I consider to be an honest villain.
"Measure twice, cut once" as the saying goes. We do this right instead of charging about in a fuss? We'll have his head first time out. He waves for the party to follow. He sets off for the poor district at a brisk pace, mentally counting down the pubs that he could also canvas for information.

He finds Grigor swigging from a flask with a half eaten bread roll stuffed into a rough script on his belt. Nice hustle.

I've a few ladders I can shake as well though my business tends to be in other parts of Korvosa. He rises. I've heard all I need to. I am for heading over now after I head home to get my kit. Any who would come with me, meet me here in an hour. Eat before you come - you may not eat again for some time if the chase leads fast and long.
