So I'm a bit confused about how to take a tower from defenders.

1 - Capture points is reduced by the number of defenders in the hex.

2 - Killing them dos not remove them from the hext but causes them to respawn at their tower.

So it seems like to me all that defenders need to do is run naked to thier tower and sit there during the PVP window. Heck they can log in run there and go shopping or to the movies... because killing them does not remove them and they just respawn in the hex.

Am I missing something?

Also killing attackers does nothing as attackers respawn at the other Shrine on the edge of the hex. Attackers just need to run naked to the towere they want to capture. Again killing the attacker does nothing as they still respawn in the same hex just on the side(edge).

Am I missing somthing or does it just seem that the war of towers is about who has the most accounts logged in an absolutely nothing about PVP?

We have 6 in our group DM + 5 PC's. Everyone has played together for about 3 years some of us 6+ years.

We are currently playing ou 4'th Path finder Adventure path. We played Rise of the Run Lords, Crimson Thrown, The Desert Campaign and now King maker. Before that we played a lot of scared lands.

Anyway our DM always keeps us a level or two behind the module recomended levels. And he being a very experianced player alters most Boss fights and has them fight smarter and not the usgested round by round game plan outlined in the book.

P.S. We also as players avoid min maxing our characters. Its more fun to have characters with personalities and not pure min maxed melee or pure heal bots etc..

The Stronghold builders guide is great for actually building their Keep.

As for managinf their lands etc two books you can probably get real cheep 2$ to 3$ are The Cavaliers Handbook & The Nobles Handbook both are published by Green Ronin Press. I bought them last year when Paizo had a big sell on Green Ronin books.

Nobles hand book has nice rules on establishing a house hold (non combatabt followers servants etc .. as well as how to advance your house holds fame or popularity etc..

The Cavaliers handbook has a feat and rules that allows a character to establish an Order and other things... gives rules on maintenance for your Order the land and holdings etc..
