Introduction:
Hey there, my name is Claude AKA GreyDestiny. I enjoy roleplaying because it's taking an active role in a collaborative creative story. Choosing a favorite superhero is pretty tough (my favorite shifts often). I will go with Moon Knight, though. Specifically in the run where he was written by Jeff Lemire. It was interesting to see a superhero comic try to explore mental disorders, and the run had a fun mystery vibe that ended on a positive tone that I really appreciated. He is a violent hero, which creates some really visceral fight scenes that carry a sense of danger. It's not something that I'd want to emulate in a game like this, but I enjoyed reading it. I would really enjoy playing in a long-running superhero RPG because I enjoy characterization and plots that have a pay off. I've been GMing one Mutants and Masterminds 3e game for about two years, and just started running another one. I've played in a couple of one-shots as well, but most of my experience is as a GM. My PbB experience is pretty limited. I used to run a roleplaying guild on Neopets, and participated on the other open boards. Excited to try it out again after all this time.
PbP Guides:
Doomed Hero's Guide will be useful for a quick reference as I get up to speed with PbP. Painlord's advice about having hooks and motivations is really useful, and something that I plan to incorporate in my application. Character Background: Role:Infantry/Psi-Ops Hero Type:Clever/Gallant Build: Shawn Allen is a hard working college sophomore attending Emerald City University. He is studying architecture and is a wide receiver on football team (go Sasquatches!). He grew up in Freedom City as child, watching the daring rescues performed not only by the superheroes of the city but also by his father who served on the STAR Squad. His family moved away from Freedom City after his father was seriously injured on duty and settled in Oregon. He briefly considered going to Freedom City for his college educated, but received a scholarship from ECU and decided to attend there. He's a friendly guy who tries not to party too much. It's his goal to make his parents proud as a star football player, though it is beginning to interfere with his grades. He trains hard, always pushing his physical limits. -------
"A robust system for creating your own creatures ensures that your parties never be without weird new aliens to fight or trade with, and racial rules for many of the new organisms let you be the alien, making Alien Archive not just a collection of creatures to kill, but a fascinating menu of creatures to be!" I hope this is something similar to the Advanced Race Guide, I have a few alien races I plan to make playable for players. |
