Graz watches Kanek with interest, his head cocked to one side. "Dead man is friend?" he asks, clearly having no idea who the person is. When Kanek points out the fibers, Graz takes a step back, unsure of what that is. "Looks like sickness to Graz. Best stay away!"

Graz wipes the gore from the crushed frog-thing off his chain, as much as possible. He checks on Zendara to make sure she isn't too badly hurt. Graz has little interest in the pool, unless something obvious is sticking out of it.

He waits patiently for the others to poke and prod around, sniffing the air for any sign of trouble.

"Graz not like it underground. Masters kept Graz underground in mines. Graz likes fresh air now not smelly earth air."

Springing to action once the blindheim attacks Zendara, Graz swings his chain with abandon, targeting the frog-thing. He takes a quick 5' step to close on the beast.

Graz eyes the blindheim warily. He has never seen the like of this thing before, and he doesn't really trust it not to spring on the party.

Holding his chain loosely in his hand, Graz moves near the creature, but hopefully not near enough to provoke it to attack.

"Healing water?" says Graz, looking at the minor injuries he has so far. "Graz not need healing water now, but in another fight," he nods towards the blindheim, whispering loudly. "Graz might need healing water if fight frog-thing."

Graz looks down at the fallen half-orc wistfully. He didn't know this girl, but she was a half-human like him. He wondered if she had lived the same life of tribulation that he had. He also wondered why she died down here all alone.

"Who killed girl?" Graz asks, his face showing the begins of anger and pain. "Graz wants to know who did THIS!" he nearly shouts the last word, gesturing at the corpse. With some effort, he regains his composure, but not before the companions see that making Graz angry might be a really bad idea.

His breath comes in quick inhalations as the silently fumes, flex and unflexing his rather large fists. When Zendara asks about looting the corpse, Graz nods in agreement. "Girl not need anything now. The dead will help the living if they can. Graz saw this many times in the mines..." He bends and searches her very gently and with great care and respect.

"Graz not need to be ogre. Maybe metal-man would instead." He finds the concept rather funny, and chuckles aloud as he considers it.

If you can't tell, Graz is a little wary of magic. If you choose to use the Enlarge spell on him, he may learn to be a little more welcoming after he sees it. The only magic he has known is from his former masters in the Technic League, so his frame of reference is limited.

Graz hadn't posted a Round 1 action since his initiative was lowest, but will post both round actions here.

Round 1

As the beetle bites Graz, the former slave only grunts at the pain. Stoically, he whips his chain at the hard carapace fo the beetle, trying to crush it with his most powerful blow.

The fire dying has little concern for Graz. Some smart guy disappearing was not really his concern either. What interested the former slave, was the reward. 4000 gold pieces! His simple mind couldn't fathom how much that was. He'd only had a few coppers to scrape together ever in his life before now. His odd jobs earned him a bit of cash, but 4000 gold coins, could keep a simple man like him rich for life! If the town wanted him to go in a hole an bring back a professor or something, that was easy enough. At least he'd be free. He patted his spiked chain which he wore like belt. Those chains had bound him hand and foot as long as he could remember, but now he would never be bound again! His blood stirred just with the thought of it.

No, he would go earn his reward because he chose it, not because he was made to do it by the masters. The vile dark evil masters.

"Show Graz the hole you want Graz to go in," Graz said simply when he appeared before the council. "Graz will bring back smart-man. Then you give Graz lots of gold, yes?" He eyed the others in the room, trying to take their measure and if they would be good companions or burdens. None looked as big and fierce as Graz, but although he was not the smartest person, he did know that sometimes others abilities were not so obvious as his own. He tried to smile at the other group, but his toothy grin, which extra large incisors, seemed more a grimace than a greeting.
