Hey! I'm here too, but I started a lovely new job, which is sadly 60 km (roughly 35 thousand fathoms for the Americans) outside of town, so it's cutting into my time. I'll still be posting as soon as this picks up! Good luck, GM!

Sorry about rushing in, but I thought we're maybe focusing too much on Gibs, and Gosk is still somewhat thinking he's on vacation. Gosk takes a seat if he's offered, and puts his hat in his lap. "I do apologise if interrupting dinner's rude in here.", he says, smiling at the entourage. "I'll take just a few moments of your time, I promise. Unless you want me to stay, of course!", he chuckles. "Ah, and there's refreshments too! Let me help, let me help.", he stands up, passing the new flagons to the Sheriff and his retinue. "You see, Sheriff, it has so happened that all friends of Kendra that arrived, meaning us,", he gestures towards the trio at and around the bar, "are quite the avid readers. And we had a visit to the Muricar household, where we heard something for the second time in a very, very short while." He stops to take a sip, enough to get the Sheriff's interest in. "It was something about the Whispering Way.", he whispers. "We believe that it might be important to us to know more about them in the times that come, and the patron of the house asked us to bring him permission, from you personally." He stops to take another sip. "I believe that we've shown enough of a moral fibre to justify granting us access, but it's entirely up to yourself, of course.", he says, waiting for a response. Gosk smiles at the explanation of the bloodred mix. "Ah! To culinary wonders, then!", he says, raising his mug and taking a sip. He turns towards the others, tipping his hat. "Well, I think now would be an excellent time to try and get the permission from the sheriff. Spirits are high and we're both here, plus, they seem to be in a good mood.", he says, standing up and walking towards the Sheriff and his group. "Good evening, Sheriff! You should've warned us about the place here, we might never have wanted to leave.", he says, gesturing towards the seats. "May we?", he asks, sending a smile at the entourage.

Gosk enters, and not before long he scratches his head at the bartender's remark about the things offered. "Ha! Liquid ghosts, means spirits!", he starts saying, but not before long his eyes notice the glowing beer. "So it seems I'm wrong. I'll take one of the glowing beers. And I'd double the colonel's sentiment about asking for the chowder.", he bows down. "Gosk Tereus, at your service." As Gibs is revealed, Gosk shrugs. "So, the gloomy fellow seems like a regular customer, doesn't he?", he asks the bartender, nodding towards Gibbs. Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

Gosk jumps up, looking around, before a somewhat confused grin on his face. "Uh... Sorry... Never had the mind for analyses for Osiriani architecture, especially terribly thorough ones.", he mumbles, putting a wide grin at his face. "You library is quite the impressive one, much more so than the reader." Once on the street, he looks around. "I do apologise... But I'll be sure to monetarise that in a drink. What do you think, should we ask the kindly father, or the sheriff? I'd prefer Father Grimburrow, if you'd ask me. I do think the sheriff would start digging into us asking about the Whispering Way. The father, on the other hand, I'd believe much more... direct.", he explains, affixing his gauntlets.

Gosk raises a suspicious eyebrow. I'm not sure I believe those tales. But everything is possible. Not entirely sure if he's believing Taldor being behind this, or simply brushing up the Colonel's ego. Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 Ah. Worried about the monetary costs. If I only I had access to the Nexian treasury..., Gosk thinks, moving to the walls and starting to look at the books. As soon as Gharen leaves, Gosk smiles. "So, it would seem we'd need to talk to Grimburrow or Hearthmount. I believe it's not such a bad idea to let them know about what we're doing. I believe that the good Father has probably finished his nap, and we could visit early in the evening?", he says, grabbing a book. "Ha, and they told me that you can't find the first edition of that...", he says, sitting in a comfortable chair. Knowledge(History): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Gosk picks up a history book, but not too long before he finds it terribly dry and falls asleep, snoring lightly on the chair.

Gosk walks in, lowering his hat. "Gosk Tereus, at your service." , he says, giving the man a deep Nexian bow, hands behind his back. A wide grin appears on his face, as he blurts out, "I apologise for overhearing, but I have to admit I'm terribly curious about Straelock's mother right now." Diplomacy aid: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 He raises his hand, "I'm sorry, sir. A mentor of mine once said that you should never miss an opportunity for a laugh." He unclasps his black cloak. Gosk's enthusiasm fades for a moment as the sheriff tells them to mind their business, but then smiles once again. "Let's go, Colonel. I'm sure he's just someone working better alone. Not our job to tell him what to do, after all." He adopts a brisk pace, continuing the conversation. "I do wonder what we might find in the Muricars' library. If they're like most nobles, though, I'd be hard pressed to find something that isn't genealogical research. Nobles are quite... touchy on the subject, as you might think...", he carries on.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 Heh. He seems surprisingly swift for a small town sheriff. Perhaps he wasn't always one, and the lack of thrills is affecting him?, Gosk ponders as he smiles. "I do believe that our current course of affairs was to see the sights and let the people see us. We'll be around, so do let us know.", he says, bowing. "I wish you the best of luck."

"I'm sure she'll be fine...", says Gosk, half-convinced himself. Gosk nods at the man with the hat. "It's... fascinating, frankly. Always had a bit of a soft spot for small towns. As soon as you're finished with the tale of Ravengro, I'd be interested to hear about any other outsiders coming here. Up to about a couple of months ago.", he mentions.

Gosk nods thoughtfully. "It is in those cases where principle should be left to be, and one should defer to their judgement.", he grins. "Too much unnecessary philosophical debate afterwards. The quick decision isn't always the greatest one, but it's often the best one.", he nods. Hearing about Gibs, he chuckles. "Ha! Not a morning person myself. Good to know, though.", he continues.

Gosk nods. "And, after all, you would be of great help, Kendra. More so, considering how close this is to heart." He continues walking. "I suppose we can talk about how the truth is better than lies, and all the circumstances surrounding those, but I'm hardly in the mood for philosophy. Let's find out more about that Whispering Way. Only way we can truly be prepared for whatever they have planned." Gosk smiles at Vara. "So, Gibs wasn't at his most helpful, huh. Hard to imagine the opposite, but you never know. It would help keeping an eye on him, but he seems way too incompetent to be a real threat. We need to go and talk to his leash-handlers.", he says, facing the rest.

Gosk raises an inquisitive eyebrow. "Huh. I guess the tales of Sheriffs sticking their fingers in all the pies is a bit of a stretch, it seems. Though it's a fine line between keeping an eye on everything and constantly getting involved in others' business, and I know a few that have crossed it." He takes a look at Davi at the door. "I'm sure she'll be fine. Better than if I went there, for sure!", he gestures towards his dark armoured robes. "Feels quite... different that people associate black with death in here. In Nex, it's either blue or white, and black is more... formal, or everyday, I suppose." Gosk, probably people don't want to hear all that about death. He sighs. "Pardon me. So, I suggest we go and find that Sheriff. At the very least, I'm sure we'd need to raise the topic of the... unpleasant reception we got from the villagers, even if he may dismiss the poor beast's death." He looks at Kendra. "As soon as you're ready, Kendra.", he prompts with a smile.

Gosk nods with a perhaps too enthusiastic smile. "Yes, indeed! They believe in ownership of items in the afterlife. I was... making the joke that the owner would object to being mummified and placed with the cat... and it didn't really work out. Anyway, there are even rumours of one of their princesses taking all of her slaves with her in the afterlife! Fascinating, really." The scholarly enthusiasm of the man is at stark contrast with the subject. "I do apologise, I get a bit... excited when I can discuss burial rites. It's a bit of a taboo topic with most people." Gosk sighs solemnly. "Cruelty is a part of our nature. Until we find whoever did it, I suggest we should be glad that it was a cat, rather than a person." He nods at the assessment of the tracks. "Let us do away with the late cat. I am curious as to what the Muricars might say."

I am all for just retribution, but the murder of a cat is hardly worth a person spending a life behind bars., Gosk thinks as he sees Vara ranting out. And also pretty sure she's overexaggerating. He stares at the cat. I'm sure the forces of good would not mind the perpetrator getting a kick or two, however... Gosk shakes his head. "If you're stumped, Colonel, then we need to start asking some questions." Knowledge(Religion) on ritual sacrifices. Could substitute for Lore(Famous Necromancers): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 Heh. He then sighs. "I'm sure we could find one. A shovel, I mean."
Assuming that it is, actually, Pryapeth.Gosk unclasps his thick, black cloak. "I could take the body in it, if you want me to, Kendra.", he mutters in a sombre tone, ready to take the cat. "Let me know what you wish to do with it." "Burial is, after all, a mostly Ustalavian and, to be honest, Central Avistani tradition.", he begins talking, trying to get people's mind off of things the only way he can. "If the cat was from the Lands of the Linnorm Kings, we'd have to bury it with the bones of all other cats and mice it ever fought, and set fire to a massive pyre.", he says, the flickers of a smile as he lets his words pay the picture. "Or, that has happened before, as the colonel can attest, Osiriani actually bury themselves with their cats. I'm sure the owner might object to being placed in the tomb with the cat, however.", he says, smiling. "The real problem is, we have no idea why this would happen. I'd blame the traditional rural animal cruelty, but I somehow doubt that's the case.", he says, sighing. Does make you think about death, doesn't it. Northern customs and tradition around it are quite fascinating, if a little odd. I suppose my customs would look just as strange, however.

Gosk moves behind the party, drawing his scythe instinctively as Kendra screams. "What in Nex's name?", he says with confusion, staring at the cat. Is that Kendra's cat? Gosk sheathes the scythe, moving closer to the sobbing woman. "I'm sorry.", he simply says with compassion in his voice. "Colonel, what do you think about the letter?", he asks, waiting for Kendra to let go of the hug.

Grinning, Gosk walks out of the chapel. "Huh. For the same reason all rich people give others money, I suppose, to control their lives and sate their thirst for power?", he says, shrugging. "We should investigate the family, no doubt. Old money usually leads to a shady history, or the opposite. Would prefer if we had the chance to look at their library first, though, colonel, if you don't mind." He nods respectfully of the man. Not going to wake up an old man, just because I want to ask him some questions. If it wasn't for the urgency, I'd be taking a nap as well! "We understand, brother. Thank you very much.", he says, politely giving the man a Nexian bow. As they leave the sanctum, he looks towards Vara. "Well, it would appear we need to prove ourselves before we can get to the library.", he says, smiling. "I'm sure the requirements would be reasonable." Gosk walks into the temple, his face emitting piqued interest. It never fails to amaze the temples people build for their gods everywhere! Quite fascinating. It sure is architecturally interesting, but wouldn't the money be spent better helping others? Or simply to further the agents of the god? Hm. Probably I shouldn't share that with the priests, however... He continues gawking around, studying the building. "Ah, the Muricars! Hah! Magic is definitely something to have lots of discussions about, and they work great in-character, especially with our party. It also feels nice to see that even though we're all about the same alignment (3 NG, and Gosk being a reasonable LG), we still got some issues to work out. Gosk incredulously raises an eyebrow at Vara. "You've got a magical lizard doing dishes for you? Damnit, I should've been a wizard....", he grins. Hearing the conversation about the use of magic, he puts his hand at his chin. "If you ask me, you both got a valid point. There's nothing wrong with being able to do magic, and it's commendable to use said powers for good. But, we're only mortals, and it's a mortal trait to be envious of what others can do, be it in magic, music, or simple feats of strength." Vara wrote:
He nods, smiling."Exactly! It definitely shouldn't be hidden, don't take this the wrong way. But people are by definition, wary of outliers. If someone lifted up a cart to show off his strength, people would be wary of that. If he lifted a cart to remove it from the muck or to free someone trapped under it, it's much different. People usually even write some incredibly bad tavern songs about that." He sighs. "I'm not as good at explaining all this as most of the Public Relations people back home. Then again, everyone grows up with the story of the great achievements of possible one of the most powerful wizards who ever lived... I cooould be a bit biased!" I hope I'm not showing off as a lecturing dick. I hate lecturing people...

Gosk chuckles as the cat appears, swiftly putting its hand on the cat and taking it gently off of Kendra's shoulder. "Ha!", he pets the cat, not worried about his fingers, before realising something. In a worried voice, he asks, "Is it just a kitty, or, uh, a familiar?", before gently putting the cat down. ----------------------------------- Gosk takes the trip through town with a fair amount of enthusiasm. A bit of a character to this place, I think. He nods, until she mentions the last place, the Grinning Demon. "So, uh, what's that place, exactly? He continues, "I'm all for telling Kendra what's going on, after a couple of days, of course.", he nods at the colonel. "I'd imagine that in her situation, any of us would have preferred knowing to being coddled by, well, us. After a certain grieving period, of course." He takes a look over the room. I'll go ahead and assume that the flex-time happened before the books arrived, as it was discussed. The Nexian leans on the wall, raising his hands in the air, indicating peace. "I thought about that, and I was being a bit... undiplomatic. Though, I wouldn't insult Kendra's intelligence by suggesting she hasn't had any suspicions in what areas the professor was studying. Not that there is anything wrong with said knowledge." He sighs again, offering a smile. "Though, I admit, I may need to work on my timing." He then notions to the heavy gauntlets sitting on the table. "Ah! You refer to the 'hit them with a stick' undead fighting method. Truthfully, two long-hilted weapons is a bit much, and you'd be surprised how effective an armoured fist is for breaking bones, on the living and the dead alike." In a more-lighthearted tone, he continues. "There may be a villager or two that learned that today. Doesn't violence just bring people together..."
Gosk listens attentively to the journal, rubbing his chin. A necromancer cabal... Just as I thought things were getting interesting. As Kendra wakes up, he smiles. "Endless nights of reading old books, while tempting, is not too great for one's health. I agree on leaving it for tomorrow.", before nodding at the colonel and Vara. Once in the corridor, he looks around before beginning to voice his suspicions. "I suppose that that answers some things. The real question is, whether someone aided the Professor into passing into the afterlife." He stops and gestures for the others to enter his room. "I feel that we should make Kendra aware of the stuff her father was into. Were I in her spot, I'd prefer to know." He raises a prepared hand. "However, I don't think that today or tomorrow is the day. I suggest we do that after we return from Ravengro tomorrow. I'd recommend we go and see what is there to see in town, then re-visit the Pharasmin cleric... Can't recall the man's name, but the man surely was... respectable. Maybe he would know more about the cult Petros was investigating." He sighs. "And, I don't know what they may be doing, but it seems like he was in a hurry more than two weeks ago. We may need to look into this before we leave to deliver the books."

Gosk bows politely at the Councillor as he introduces the will. Is that so... I can see no better things to do in my future than to take care of all the knowledge the professor has stored. He leans back on the chair, twirling the drink in his hand. "I could probably help with that." He stands up. "I suppose now is as good time as any to bring it up." The tall man's gaze turns towards Kendra. "One of the fields of study that I... excelled at with the immense aid of your father was that of necromancy." He waits, then raises a hand before anyone else speaks up. "I'm no wizard, or a practitioner of the arts by any means, simply a scholar. Necromancy in itself is a type, a school of magic no different than that of evocation, illusion, or abjuration. Indeed, the act of raising the dead itself is something that could only be described as 'evil', but to call all necromancers lords of the undead is... misleading." He smiles. "A comparison a friend of mine used to make is, 'It's the same as calling every weapon an axe.' I have no doubt that some of the books would have information that would be, at best, harmful to Petros' reputation, and at worst, tools to raise and command those who are long at rest." He sits down, taking a long sip. He grins. "Well that sounded needlessly dry. I do start sounding philosophical when I talk about important and scholarly matters in Taldane. Much of it the Professor's fault, I'm afraid." Another warm smile is sent in Kendra's direction. "So, the jist of it is, it'd be a duty to aid in the safe return of the books, even if I wasn't being told to. And since we've all agreed," He gestures theatrically at Davi, "that we're going to be throat punched if we ignore our duties, you can count me in." Really sorry about the lateness of the post, I had some personal stuff going on.

Gosk nods as Vara and the colonel share their memories with the grieving, and steps forward. He raises an eyebrow at the woman's revelation, sending a good hearted, if a bit sad, smile at her. "I first met the professor a few years back. I hail from a small country called Nex, all the way across the continent, to learn more about the mysteries of magic.", he says, looking at the casket. It's always the case with us Nexians... keeping secrets into our graves. "The professor was one of the few people willing to accept someone as much of an outsider as myself. He shared his house, his food and his wisdom. Our world grows dimmer as we lay him in the ground this day, but as long as we remember his words and carry forth his deeds, the light will shine upon our deeds. A man's legacy lives as long as his deeds are remembered, and Professor Petros Lorrimir will be a mark on the history of Ustalav for long after any of us are still standing.

The scythe is once again placed on Gosk's back. "Forgive us, Father. In our defense, we did try our best to negotiate before we were forced to defend ourselves.", he says as he walks back to his place by the coffin. "I am Gosk Tereus, at your service.", he says, giving a bow to the Pharasmin. It'd be bad to bring up necromancy right now, wouldn't it... Although, wonder if there is another reason for burying the professor so fast..., he thinks, keeping his thoughts to himself. He regards the tiny dinosaur, giving him a wide grin as his robe is fixed under the armor. "Aw, thanks, pal." He turns to Kendra. "I'm sorry for this, Kendra. You've done nothing to deserve any of this.", he says, sadness on his face.

Gosk brings the hilt of his scythe down on another peasant. Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
The weapon impacts the man's shoulder with a crunching sound, drawing a couple of bared teeth from the onlookers. He turns around to look at his friends, baring his shiny white teeth. "Is it not time to stop? You're yet to even hit me, gentlemen, and now we outnumber you." Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

That's a pretty smart use of Spellcraft! Like using Craft to determine the quality of the item. Craft is in the name, after all. And necromancy gets such a bad rap. Don't know if that's official Paizo lore or just the common stereotypical superstitiousness.

Gosk grunts heavily as he leads the end of the handle towards the torso of another villager. Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
The hilt misses the figure barely as Gosk retracts the scythe. I do suppose that necromancy has a... polarizing effect on people., he thinks. I wonder if he actually practiced necromancy as well as he studied it...

The tall man takes a step back from his assailants, his armoured gauntlet closing around the vicious instrument on his back. Two attacks of opportunity, please, thank you. The darkened scythe flies in his hands, a vastly more terrifying weapon than the ones in the hands of the commoners in front of him. "Don't start something you cannot finish, friend.", he speaks to Kendra's assailant, a fierce blaze in his eyes. Attack, Blade of Mercy, No PA: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
The blade of the scythe approaches the man's neck viciously, before turning in a swift motion in order to attach itself in his coat. Gosk pulls heavily on the hilt, drawing the man's face with high velocity towards his left gauntlet.

Wow. I'm really sorry to hear that, GM, and I fully understand. I'm not even going to advise not mixing vodka and bull, which I usually do. I hope there's a way to resolve the situation better, though. Good luck about that!

In which case, Gosk will lay the casket down, and do nothing else. He doesn't think that others need to share his (or in the case, Davi's too) beliefs on mortal coils, and respects the customs.

Can we lower the casket respectully? I'll assume that if both me and Vara take a move action to do so, we can do that. If not, this will happen without letting go of the casket. If it's a free action by any chance, he'll put a hand on his scythe's hilt, readying to draw if they continue moving forward. Gosk grumbles. If only I could have explained better., he says, nodding at the white haired woman to his left and lowering the remains of the man. The sad truth is that they are somewhat right, however..., as Gosk raises his hands and stands in front of Kendra. Let's ignore the fact that I probably even look like a necromancer to these f$!+wits, uh, foolish people., he thinks to himself, a glance on his black Nexian armour and the scythe on his back. "We'd gladly avoid any conflict, good people! Surely no more death is necessary!"

Uh. Yeah. I got the character page on the Discussion page, but I'll copy it to the actual page. Lost in translation, as it is. Considering Gosk learned about (and actual necromancy) from the Professor, the situation is somewhat... interesting. Also, my bad. The Diplomacy mod is actually +7, and not +9, so it was an even longer shot.

Gosk lets out a sigh. "I can understand disliking the Professor in life, but what harm does a mere mortal coil pose to you, friends?", he asks with a quizzical look in his eyes, taking a glance at Kendra. "The Pharasmin already prepared our friend to depart on his final journey, so unless you purport to be a higher authority than them...", he continues, pointing towards the clerics. "And, at last, why do you not want the Professor buried there? Did he harm you in any way?" Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

Gosk walks in the room, and takes his place in the back right of the casket. I guess it's time you finally got some rest, Professor. You were always saying that now would be the time. Hearing the song, he lets out a sad smile. Well, on you go into the biggest mystery of all. May your soul rest, wherever it may be.

Gosk remains seated, staring at a framed picture on the wall. Nodding quietly as the others tend to the hostess, he takes a brief look around the somewhat familiar room. I'll miss the old man. Surprising how so few people showed up in here. Wonder if there is indeed something else. "I would be honoured to be a pallbearer as well, Kendra. It's the least I can do for all that he's taught me." He'd have chuckled at the irony. He stands up in the room, taking off his gauntlets and reaches for the water, passing a glass to Kendra. "I think I speak for all of us when I say we're here for you." If there's noone else showing up, I should think of some words for the old man as we lay him in the ground.

Gosk spends most of the journey staring out of the carriage's window. The child-like smile on the man's face is in stark contrast with his dark heavy armour, thick leather and chain reaching all the way to his ankles. A fierce looking scythe leans on the door of the carriage, the blade sharpened to perfection. "You know, Colonel,", he begins saying to his companion, "I think I'm starting to see some connections between Ustalav and the good old country. Dark all around, fear of the undead, and encouragement not to stray too far away from the roads. Magical fallout or vicious beasts being the only difference.", he sighs. The letter was surprisingly non-descriptive. Wonder what the professor stumbled upon. And this poem is... appropriate. Five gold pieces say the locals are heavy drinkers... "Though the trees are pretty in a...", he searches for a word, "imposing way, I guess. Preferred the ones in Varisia along the way, though." -------------------------------------- Leaving the wagon, he flips a coin to the driver. "Thanks a lot, friend. That's for the, uh, entertainment.", he says, reaching for a small chest and pulling it down. "Colonel, if you'd like, I'll give you a hand with that.", he nods at the case. "Though if it's the alchemical lab you mentioned, I'd stay away. I'm sure we're all enjoying our eyebrows.", he chuckles. "Miss Lorrimer, it's good to see you again, if only the circumstances were... different. My condolences, first and foremost.", and nods to himself as she runs inside. Poor girl. Seeing the other arrivals, he bows his head. "Pleased to meet you. I'm Gosk Tereus, at your service." Are there signs of other people arriving for the funeral?

Gosk could've probably travelled with the same caravan/boat that got Col. Tipper to Ustalav, and that's a very long journey. A lot of time for military exploits to be discussed. Vari is another Aasimar dealing with matters of life and death. As such, it is also possible that Gosk fills the gap for a bodyguard, despite his lack of affiliation to any churches. There could be many discussions on necromancy in general, and having (probably) different points of view would also be interesting later on. I'd wait for Davi to be finished before I come up with ideas.

Well, I honestly can't give a THEORETICAL example of how a paladin should behave. I do have a bit of a PRACTICAL idea of how he would behave, without going too 'BURN EVERYONE! FOR *INSERT GOD HERE*!' or 'I'm just casually leaving the building with my fingers in my ears while someone's being tortured'. I was thinking for a bit more of a studied approach to gods. Sarenrae shows forgiveness, Abadar protects the pillars of society that we have today, Irori guides the strive for mortals to achieve greater things and protect history and Torag is conveniently ignored. Simply understanding the values and goals of all the good gods, while not devoting himself to any of the ways to act, and using personal judgement is what I see as a reasonable thing.

Bah! That's what I get for re-using the old sheet. I didn't actually know that about the Blade of Mercy (That's what I get for using the SRD!), and I'll change it. Regarding the Scythe, it's a pretty cool and underused weapon. I was toying with the idea of actually studying necromancy, and the main reason I went with 13 Int is for Unsanctioned Knowledge, and I was planning on getting some of the helpful and reasonable necromancy spells, as a result of having studied the art for such a long time. Again, that's not going to come up for a long time, but warning the GM is reasonable. I see the point about Holy Tactician. May change back to normal, for a tad bit more immunities. Concern was the immense lack of feats Paladins get, and that alleviates that problem a bit, but, oh well.

Truespeaker There are some aasimars whose language transcends all boundaries. They gain a +2 bonus on Linguistics and Sense Motive checks, and they learn two languages each time they gain a rank in Linguistics. This racial trait replaces skilled. Scion of Humanity Some aasimars' heavenly ancestry is extremely distant. An aasimar with this racial trait counts as an outsider (native) and a humanoid (human) for any effect related to race, including feat prerequisites and spells that affect humanoids. She can pass for human without using the Disguise skill. This racial trait replaces the Celestial language and alters the native subtype. Incorruptible Occasionally, aasimars arise with the ability to further ward away evil. Aasimars with this racial trait can cast corruption resistance against evil once per day as a spell-like ability. If an aasimar uses this ability on herself, the duration increases to 1 hour per level. This racial trait replaces the spell-like ability racial trait. PALADIN Weal’s Champion (Su)

I did decide to continue with Gosk, since I quite like the character. However, his backstory would be a bit different. I'm seeing how he could be sent to Ustalav in an operation to gather more information about necromancy in general. Nex is quite interested in necromancy, trying to understand how their millennia old enemy works, and are always looking for new research. I am playing with the idea of re-making him into an Aasimar, since they really have great anti-undead goodies, and are generally an interesting race. I'm still sticking to the loyalty to Nex thing, but I'm not sure if that's going to be of any relevance. Probably not. It would also alleviate some of the effects of paladin versus *insert random beastie here*, since understanding of the enemy is something he'd strive for, and not go for extermination of everything that looks somewhat shifty. Quick question, what's the GM's thoughts on the Armored Kilt? I'm thinking of starting off with one, combined with scale mail, somewhat for looks as well, since I really like the way Dragon Age templars look and that's a look that'd sit quite well for a Nexian Paladin. If not, I can just have a normal sk... kilt. I'll wait for a reply on the Aasimar subject, and start building the character afterwards. Not going to be changed much from the previous Gosk, just maybe a bit less cynical and suspicious. And, surprisingly, probably better at Sense Motive.
