Gornak tries to bolster himself with Empty Mind. Will save: "You...you can't force me to leave, buster!" Gornak grunts as he resists the compulsion to leave.
Gornak keeps leading the way, hammer at the ready.
"Okay, let's keep going," Gornak suggests as he leads the way towards the next set of stairs.
Gornak heads up the stairs, hammer in hand.
Gornak gets ready to lead the way up the stairs once the others are done looking around in the basement. He manifests Force Screen. (AC 27)
Gornak's eyes widen as he sees the guy fall into the flume and he winces as he feels the sting of the man's magic touch. He steps back and swings again, this time not bothering to be gentle (since it didn't work the last time):

Init: Gornak steps back and bashes with his hammer, trying to do nonlethal damage for now.

"Uh...yeah. Let's go talk to the boss," Gornak agrees uncertainly.
"You bet!" Gornak hefts his giant hammer and shoulders his way through the small door.
Gornak prepares by manifesting a 5 pp Metaphysical Weapon and a 4 pp Thicken Skin.
"If there are murderers at the sawmill, we should try to stop them," Gornak agrees.

Gornak grimaces, but says nothing and lets Brother Vaclav do his thing.
"Sounds good to me. Ask away, Brother!"
"Yeah, maybe they know where this sawmill is, and why people are getting killed."
"Sounds good to me. Just try to hurry!" Gornak laughs nervously.
Gornak stands up and attacks "Aldern" with his hook. (AC 23)
Gornak moves to where Aylmora was, drops his hammer and draws his hook. "Sorry, Aldern, but I guess we're going to have to kill you for the third time."
"I don't believe what I'm seeing!" Gornak blurts out. He rubs his eyes, hoping the odd image will go away.
Gornak listens at the door and then opens it.
Gornak keeps climbing stairs until he thinks he has reached the top floor.
"Yup, let's start at the top and work our way down!" Gornak says as he continues up the stairs, checking for surprises along the way.
I'll be on vacation until Oct 30, so I may not post very often until then.

Gornak gulps and fingers his Sihedron necklace as he looks at the dead man. "Oh my...what a way to go."
"I trust you, Brother Vaclav. Talking to a priest about cultists just sounds like common sense to me, too!"

Gornak will try to aid Aylmora.
However, his monstrous appearance and awkward demeanor aren't doing anyone any favours!
"I guess..." Gornak responds reluctantly, "You guys know more about stuff than me. I don't know what I'd do if someone died because we didn't warn the guards soon enough, though."
"First things first," Gornak suggests, "Shouldn't we tell the town guard that there's a gang of murderers on the loose?"
"Uh yeah, that's me. Gornak." Gornak adds helpfully.
"Well, let's try to get some shut-eye and move on in the morning, without horses."
After a minute, Gornak comes charging back, puffing like a teakettle. "Is everyone all right? Where did that horrible cry come from?" He sees the horses ripped apart and he blanches. "Oh no...that could have been one of you! And to think I turned my tail and fled..."
Gornak takes off running in the opposite direction.
Gornak uses Empty Mind: Will save Gornak goes mad with fear, drops his weapon and manifests Defy Gravity, hoping to escape through the air.
Gornak charges his big hammer with deadly psionic energy in case a fight is a-brewin'. He also toughens up his skin.
"What the heck is that thing?" Gornak blurts out when he hears the eerie sound.
"Haw!" Gornak chortles, "maybe it'd fool you if you had one eye, on a moonless night, and you were drunk! But I'm gonna have to work on it before I can make it really look like something convincing."
"Thanks, pa! I don't want you to ever be ashamed of me. I'll be back as quick as I can, you hear?" ---- When Gornak finishes his shopping and crafting and meets up with his friends later, he says: "Guess what? I learned a new trick using ecto...things and metaphysical, uh, energy. Don't laugh, though!" In the blink of an eye, Gornak is covered from helmet to boots in a kind of film that's coloured in a sort of wood grain pattern. "I know it looks funny, but it helps me move faster, hit harder and see in the dark! I guess I could change the colour, but I kind of like trees."

After buying some equipment, Gornak heads back to the Junker's Edge to find his father. "Pa, I hate to tell you this, but I'm going away for a while. There's something bad going down in Magnimar, and I gotta go with my friends to tell the folks there what's going on. Don't worry -- I'll have some people from Sandpoint come down and help out around the place and maybe fix it up a bit. I'll send you a message from there when I have time; I hope we won't be gone more'n a week or two. You be good while I'm gone!" He spends a whole day fixing up his armor and experimenting with new psychic abilities before he's ready to go.
