Jessa's heart pounds in her chest as she starts to think about what she just did. Her eyes widen again as she realizes there are still goblins coming, and two of them are making a beeline for her. Screaming a war chant in goblin that amounts to "KILL, KILL, KILL! STAB, STAB, STAB! BITE, BITE, BITE! CHEW, CHEW, CHEW!" they charge and attack. Their attacks interfere with each other, causing one to miss, but the other connects. Goblin attacks on Jessa: (1d20+2=6, 1d20+2=13) Damage: (1d4=4) A goblin charges Shantare and gets a strike with his dogslicer through her defences. Attack: (1d20+2=15) Damage: (1d4=4) Another charges Mitnal, but its attack turns off of Mitnal's Klar. A goblin charges the sheriff and gets a lucky blow in, just nicking him. Attack (1d20+2=16) Damage: (1d4=1) Two more fling themselves at Spot in an orgy of battle fury and dog hatred, but neither of them manage to land a blow.
Mitnal and Jessa: Mitnal, the two goblins facing you attack fearlessly, but I believe fail to land a blow: Attacks on Mitnal: (1d20+3=12, 1d20+3=10) Jessa, the goblin that felled Gengar seemed about to finish him off, but apparently the temptation of attack a defenseless woman from behind was too much. He rushed up to stick you in the back, but wasn't terribly quiet about it. You were able to dodge his off balance thrust easily:
Attacks on the sheriff: Goblin attack rolls (1d20+3=11, 1d20+5[flanking]=25, 1d20+5[flanking]=16) Dogslicer damage (1d4+1=4) Crit damage: (1d4+1+1d4+1=6) The goblins flanking the sheriff take brutal advantage of it.
Over by the Bonfire: Five goblins remain, one (precariously) on Jessa's back, one that closes with Gengar and attacks, one that Shantare encounters moving to join you, and two attacking innocent bystanders. Jessa: The one on your back has initiated a grapple. (I maybe should have done this during the surprise round, when he jumped on you, but moving on....) Jessa's goblin's touch attack to initiate a grapple (1d20 2=20) You get an attack of opportunity on him, and if you do any damage at all you'll stop him (and get him off your back), but if not, he's got a fistful of hair and a securer position. Gengar: Yeah, Invisible Castle seems to have it out for you guys. The goblin from under the wagon, who rushes out to attack you, surprises you by pulling a fake out, leaving you wide open. An opportunity the goblin takes with relish. Shantare: If your goblin survives your attack, which comes first, his dogslicer will hit home. You all stand helpless as the other two goblins in your immediate vicinity attack a man and his wife too terrified to run, and cut them both down. Their blood spilling onto the dirt of the cathedral square and mingling with that of the dead dog.
Above the sound of rising chaos, the giggling, cackling voices coalesce into a song: Goblins chew and goblins bite.
Goblins race and goblins jump.
Chase the baby and catch the pup.
