M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Folks, after evaluating my new work schedule in regards to my home life, I'm going to bow out of the game. Sorry if you were waiting for me a bunch, and feel free to have Gnosh slip and fall down a crevasse somewhere. Thanks for the good times!

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Friends: Sorry for the serious delay. I got back from vacation on Sunday and started a new job on Monday. I'll have something for you later on tomorrow or early Thursday. Thanks for your patience.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh sets down the sack of goods, digs in, and produces a rope, some pitons, and a hammer. "I'm in favor of going in in darkness, myself, but I understand if you all think that trying to blind them makes more sense."

Sorry for the delay in posting. The last couple days were taken up with replacing the brakes on my car and discovering that there was a leak in the brake lines. Busy times.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Perception Check 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Gnosh is looking at the path of the Tengu.

Going on vacation as of tomorrow morning. I will be able to update on the road.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh puts his falchion away and picks up the sack of goods. "Now we're feedin' the wilderness, huh? Suppose it's better luck that way." He turns back to the Tengu trail, waiting for the others.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh will drop his sack of gear and draw his falchion on his turn.

To the East!

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh steps into the middle of the line as the party trots down to follow the Tengu. The bag of gear slung over his shoulder clanks and clatters as he moves along, and he grimaces at all the noise he is making.

Perception 11d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Perception 21d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Perception 31d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Initiative 21d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Initiative 31d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

"Glaargh!" cries out Gnosh who had just turned to look at what Fubar was pointing out.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh grunts. "Well, if you all feel like a bit of climbing, we could make it to where they were by the end of the day, but it'd be a long haul and we might not find anything useful."

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Now on Obsidian Portal under login Gnoshferhul. Gnosh learned that going after artifacts to thumb his nose at the Scions only gets him a cold thumb and nose.

Gnosh crouches and tries to follow the tengu's trail back to the heights and get a sense of where the group had originated. "Maybe a good place to check before following 'em forward."

Take 20 + 4 = 24 Perception to look back towards the mountain and find a point of origin.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh looks out into the darkness, his eyes deep within his warm hood.

1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
3: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh gobbles up the remainder of his breakfast. "You want to talk to the feathered ones, fine by me. Hope you got some pretty words." He waves to Caydee, "Lead on, lady, or if you want, my eyes are fairly keen in the dark."

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh flings out his bedroll and says, "I'll take third watch. See you in the morning," and slumps over, huddled in blankets, dreaming of nothing but ice and snow.

Perception rolls for 3rd watch:
1st half-hour1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
2nd half-hour1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
3rd half-hour1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
4th half-hour1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Sorry for the background delay. I've been applying and interviewing for several jobs lately after several months of being out of work, and it's eating up some time. I should be able to have that up in a couple days.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh grunts at the thought of another hour of trudging in the cold, but steps forward. "Come on, let's just get there, then. Gonna have to leave here, anyway."

I'd rather hold off on duties myself for a bit. In the middle of a job search, and a possible 2 week vacation at the beginning of August.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh walks back over and picks up his sack of gear, grunting as he slings it over his shoulder. "We oughta get out of this area, or toss these fellas off the cliff, and go make camp somewhere."

{ooc}Gnosh, actually to get a fumble here you need to roll two natural 1s in a row, so it wasn't a fumble at all. Yes, in my tabletop game you would have lopped off Fubar's head or your own foot and bled to death with the following roll of 6, so double damage. Nice roll on damage there :). But in this case, it isn't a fumble - and one of the reason I am adding the extra roll to 'verify' the fumble.

Ah, understood! On the same page now.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Critical Hit/Fumble rules look fine to me. Always good to know there's a chance of cutting off my own head. If you want it to apply for that one:
1d20 ⇒ 6
1d20 ⇒ 14
By the rule, Gnosh would have hit himself for 22 points of damage and died instantly, or maybe would have hit Fubar for the same. Thoughts?

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Wanting to be helpful, is this what you are picturing for a map? Battle Map.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh's slashes at the Tengu's belly,

Falchion Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Falchion Damage: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 4) + 3 = 11
Sneak Attack Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

and nearly topples over the cliff.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh moves like he is aiming high before getting ready to come back around with his real attack against the Tengu's middle.

Apologies for the delay. Feint Attempt using Bluff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh draws his falchion and prepares to charge forward.

Perception Roll 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Perception Roll 3: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh winds the rope back up into a coil and packs it away. "Fair 'nuff. They're why we're out here anyway. Lead on, tracker."

Will get background up soon.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh looks around for a secure outcropping where he could tie off a rope.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Perception Check:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh grunts and helps carry the other carcass towards the trees. "Could probably just bury 'em in the snow, come back for 'em frozen stiff. Course, their brothers'll probably get a good meal before we get anything good from 'em. Nah, let's leave 'em here."

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh puts away his falchion, steps up and takes hold of the sack after Sioned removes the bedroll and blanket, grunting as he slings it over his shoulder. "Gonna drop this at the first sign of trouble. Hope no one minds a wet tent."

He looks over at Caydee. "You want to take care of these wolves? Those pelts could be mighty warm in the colder parts of the mountain."

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Trotting forward cautiously, Gnosh levies a careful attack against the wolf that is still standing.

Combat Expertise standard attack:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Falchion Damage:2d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 2) + 3 = 9
AC is now 18 until Gnosh's next turn.

This'll be my last post. Sorry, guys, but I need to channel my time towards a project I've been putting off for a while, and as I'm not that experienced a DM anyway and this is a fairly fast-moving game, I've decided to leave. Good luck, and good bye!

** spoiler omitted **

Bummer. Thanks for playing while you did!

Initiative:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Gnosh draws his Falchion and steps up to be in flanking position with the nearest wolf.

Perception roll for Gnosh = 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh steps over and picks up the other tent, putting the loose bits in his sack and using the poles to hold it over his shoulder. "Fair weight, that... But it'll go in the snow at first sign of trouble. Hope no one minds their tent being a touch damp." He looks around at the group, nods, and steps in place a bit behind Caydee.

In terms of marching order: While outside, Gnosh will take a place somewhere in the middle of the group and have a hand on a dagger. When indoors, he will move further up to help scan for traps.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh gives Tully a wink and a smile, "I'll see to it. Be back soon, with coin!"

He catches up to the others outside the Scion's tower as quickly as possible. When he sees the gear that Sioned brings from the Rectors house, he grunts in surprise. "Good haul, there. Looks like it was still packed from the last expedition." He divides the rations he got from Tully into the sacks from the Rector's house, then picks up one of the smaller sacks. Looking at the fur-lined cloak, he shrugs it over his shoulders on top of the one he is already wearing. Grunting under the weight of the sack, he shakes his head at the weight, then sets it down and looks at the others. "How long until dawn? We could set out then or now, if it will be close enough."

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh arrives with the supplies he's managed to scrounge together (a few days rations for each) and asks, "So, being new in town, what're the mountains like? I only know a bit of the southern pass, and what's between here and Crescent Harbor. Anyone traveled further north?"

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh heads back to the Bearded Elf to see if Tully is still awake. If so, he procures 4 days of trail rations for each party member, claiming that the Rector will see to the bill in return for the group returning what was stolen from him. He heads up to his room to secure his pack and bedroll.

Bluff check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

As Gnosh catches up, he calls out, "No doubt it'll be a far haul to get there. Look, I understand: your townsfolk fell, and you want to avenge 'em. It's a harsh world, to be sure, but it'll be for naught if we die in the mountains as well. Now, I'm willing to help because I think the Rector will show his appreciation monetarily, and far be it from me to doubt your tracking skills, miss," he states to Caydee, "but I hope you know these mountains better than your own hands."

I assume you catch up to Ahz and KD soon?

As quickly as possible.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Depositing the Tengu at the feet of a pair of Scions, who quickly take over custody, Gnosh turns around and follows, swinging past the Bearded Elf to grab his gear. Taking a minute to buckle on his armor and throw a warm cloak over his shoulders, he heads out into the dark in the direction Sioned indicated, hoping his speed will help him catch up.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Producing a dagger from the sheath at the back of his belt, Gnosh hauls the tengu up onto its feet and tries to drag it back towards the guardhouse, following Sioned.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Apologies, was flipping back and forth a bit and hit upon the wrong name. Gnosh assists with interrogation.

M Half-Orc Rogue 1

Gnosh Ferhul came in as part of a caravan shortly before the snowstorm hit, hired on as extra muscle for the trip to Camlin. With little desire to fight the snows on his return south, Gnosh remained in Camlin, trading in his southern clothes for good winter gear and slowly drinking away his caravan wagesGnosh has been living off of the parties for the last couple days, trying to find work for the winter.

A heavily bundled shape steps away from the bucket brigade towards Caydee and the restrained Tengu. Crouching down next to her, Gnosh gives Caydee a curt nod before leaning in close to the Tengu's ear to whisper a quiet combination of insults, curses and - mostly - threats, trying to get the creature to reveal where his friends would be heading.

Profile completed, though whether the elf and half-elves want to adventure with two more half-orcs will be an interesting discussion : ).

Also happy to GM later on, once I get a firmer grasp of how the group interacts. Posting ability is fluid, at the moment.
