About Gigantopithecus Yetii
Born and raised in the island nation of Hermea, Gig, the shortened moniker he usually goes by, was given his full name as a friendly joke on account of his large size and profuse body hair. Upon reaching majority he was tested as all residents are - and failed. Exiled, he quickly joined the crew of the first ship sailing out of port - a merchant vessel flying the flag of Andoran. Picking up some skill as a sailor, he stayed with the vessel for a short while, visiting port after port.
Gig was at ease with the mindset of self-reliance and can-do attitude of the Andorans, but their heavy proselytizing against the other types of government rubbed him the wrong way, and he got off in Thuvia. After a brief stint in the orchid gardens, he met some Osirians and joined them on a pilgrimage to an old Osirian Temple, curious about their religious beliefs. Awed by what he saw on the journey, he at once found his place and his new calling - exploring ancient ruins and studying fallen civilizations to help restore Osirion to it's former glory!
