Patrol Leader

Maybe this is silly of me, what do I add?

Patrol Leader

I wholeheartedly agree

George now trusts Thom.

Patrol Leader

I guess George earned a Persona point for accomplishing his goal?

Patrol Leader

Risky, but what the hell. Wanna try fixing up George's Eye Thom? Or would you use your check for something else?

Patrol Leader

George sits down on the bed. Looking at the rotting corpse of a mouse. He bet that she was killed simply because she was a member of the guard. He's seen this before. Hatred was terrible especially when taken too far. His fists involuntarily clench so much that it hurts. He closes the good eye and realizes that a quiet growl escapes his mouth. He begins to hum a nursery rhyme his mother used to sing to him when he was a pinkie. After some time, he begins to sing in a quiet voice. As he sings, he tries to let go of his anger. Slowly, he feels it leaving him, his breathing growing even, his fists unclenching.

Ob2 Will Test: 5d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 5, 1, 4) = 12

Phew, that was close

Patrol Leader

"We have to find Rosalee", whispered George. His face hurt, and he couldn't see on his eye.
"I don't know if it is a smart idea to ask after her"

Patrol Leader

George raises his paw to his ijured face, feeling the numbness spreading through his body already. Vision in his eye grows dark and blurry and he closes it with some effort.

Well he says, This bloody figures

And collapses to the ground.

Patrol Leader

Heh eyepatch

Patrol Leader

How about severely injuring the snake but George gets poisoned?

Patrol Leader

George, pressing the advantage takes out his two-handed sword ditching the shield and the one hander, deeming to do as much damage as possible, he gives a loud warcry and lunges at the snake, aiming a savage blow at the place that he hurt already in the previous attack.

Fighter(4d6)+Vivian(1d6)+Thom(1d6): 4d6 + 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 4) + (2) + (4) = 17

Darnit, only two successes.

Patrol Leader

George jumps at the snake with renewed vigor and yelling "That's right lass! Just you go!" swinging his sword at the snake's unprotected underbelly and scoring a deep hit.

Patrol Leader

George rushes to Vivian's aid, grabbing her around the waist and digging his heels in, trying to contain the madly waving tail of an angry reptile.

Patrol Leader

Not, really itching to use a trait right now :)

Patrol Leader

While bracing his shield against the snake's body, knowing full well the futility of such act, George drives his sword at the snake, hard, using the tightening of its coils to amplify his thrusting power.

Fighter+Vivian+Thom: 4d6 + 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 3, 1) + (1) + (4) = 16

Ouch, only 2 successes.

Patrol Leader

George takes out a dagger from his belt and flings it at the snake, trying for it to miss it narrowly and draw it's attention from the mice below.

Fighter+Vivian+Thom: 4d6 + 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 2, 6) + (2) + (1) = 23

If I'm using a weapon bonus then 1d6 ⇒ 4

Neat, so either 3 successes or 4 successes

Patrol Leader

George proceeds to flank the snake and starts rapping his sword on his shield yelling at the snake and then lunges forward at her, again veering off in the last possible instant.

Patrol Leader

George is seemingly attacking the snake, making it focus its attention on him and then veering off in the last moment so as to expose its weaknesses to Thom.

Patrol Leader

Good one lass! yells George and lunges forward waving his shield in the snake's face in order to make it rear and attempts to stab it in its weak underbelly.

Patrol Leader

Faint flavor/assist defend

What now? Round 2?

Patrol Leader

George charges the snake swinging his sword madly, so that the glint of the blade would definitely catch its eye, veering off at the last second and presenting his shield as an attractive target, hoping that the snake would turn towards him thus presenting its neck as a viable target for Thom.

Patrol Leader

Ah good Vivian and Thom: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4

Patrol Leader

Feint:

Going to lunge at the snake swinging my sword, and then veer off in the last moment, presenting my shield as an easy target.

Feint(Figher): 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 5, 4) = 14

Not bad three successes

Patrol Leader

Should I do something?

Patrol Leader

George whips out his sword and takes the shield off his back.

I say we hurt it enough that it no longer cares about eating anything and runs away

Patrol Leader

GM can I help with either my Hunter or my Loremouse?

Patrol Leader

Welp, anyone know anything about birds? Or things that kill birds? Asks George using his sword to push some briars away.

Patrol Leader

George frowns angrily and looks at the ceiling exasperated. He starts waving his head as in a 'no' gesture and then gives the other two mice a mournfull look.

So many good mice dead because DUTY, because the guard comes first. Because we don't have enough bloody resources to have normal patrols, bloody hell

All right. You're right, of course, the mission comes first. But before we go, tomorrow, I'm going to find the damn herbalist and get some salves and poultices for you. We're going to heal you on the way lass. Now, off to bed.

He gives Thom a meaningful look. So you're a mapmaker right? I have this old map that could use some corrections. Care to stay a wee bit and help me with it?

Patrol Leader

We can either stay for a day or three, till you're better. Or one of us can stay with you and one of us can proceed to Pebblebrook to meet with our contact there and then wait for the remaining two says George slowly.

Patrol Leader

Our orders are to meet our contact inside Pebblebrook, and get informed on her assessment of the situation and the town's disposition towards the rest of the land and the Guard in particular. We're to send that report immediately back to the guard via this little fella.
He points to the jar from whence a faint buzzing is issuing, and remembering something, he takes out the pouch the apiarist gave him, gently lifts the mesh and sprinkles its contents inside the jar. He then carefully replaces the mesh.
He stands up and grabs the apprentice by the arm Bring the girl a little mulled wine, please, and do you know of anyone who is good with healing herbs and works this late at night?

Patrol Leader

I didn't refresh so didn't see the post. Sorry

All right. Are you sure you can make it across lass? If so, tie one end of the rope to the bridge, and I'm going to toss it across with this here grappling hook. That's both going to help you climb up that slope and reel the bridge in. Cut off pieces of it if you need it to repair the bridge
He takes out the grappling hook and ties it to the rope handing her the other end.
Oh, and, don't drown on me, you hear?

Patrol Leader

George leaned over and looked at the dangling bridge splashing around in the rushing waters. He spat straight down in the water. Thank providence I remembered to bring rope he thought while turning towards the rest.
Well, I'm not a big fan of sleeping outside this close to the scent border. I'm not a great swimmer either, though I have an idea. He reached back and detached the coil of rope he always bore with him on forays and looks at both Thom and Vivian. Does anyone else have rope?

Patrol Leader

Yes, yes, lass. No need to get excited about it.

Patrol Leader

We're going to a town called Pebblebrook. To see if we can glean anything about their attitude towards the Guard. I suggest we talk more once we're out of earshot, say when we make first camp?

Patrol Leader

George gives a curt nod. Mornin'. Are you ready to go?

Patrol Leader

George slings the jar over his shoulder, nods to the apiarist and goes to his room. He carefully, but quickly packs his things, buckles his weapons and shield and goes to meet Vivian all armed and ready.

Here I am lass, now let's go meet this third mouse.

Patrol Leader

George accepts the vase, gingerly and looks inside as much as he can with the mesh.
I assume it requires feeding? He asks

Patrol Leader

George nods his head and. Evening, I am.

Patrol Leader

Oh darn, forgot to change
Before he leaves, George listens to the young tenderpaw's question. His whiskers twitch, and she can see an old fear in his eye for a moment.

As long as we don't go outside the scent border, no, we don't have to worry too much, lass. If something comes after us, we can always hide. Owls though, I pray we don't run into an owl. Now go, pack, and worry not, you're with me.
He puts his hand on her shoulder and smiles reassuringly, then turns and quicklu walks away.

Patrol Leader

George nods.
Very well, when do we leave, matriarch?

Patrol Leader

Well, the chances of meeting any also depend on the amount of time that has passed since the scent border was last repoured. How long was that exactly?

Patrol Leader

Whomever is looking can see that George is trying to keep a stern facade, but that he is unnerved by the mention of predators

Will there be owls? Oh please just not owls he thinks trying to get a hold of himself.

Patrol Leader

George leans over the map and studies it for several quiet moments.
Well, I reckon the best way to get there would be through Shaleburrow and Barkstone as pit stops to resupply if necessary and then straight on to Pebblebrook.
He gives Gwendolyn a sharp look.
Possible large predators huh?

Patrol Leader

George twitched his whiskers, and looked around the room.

Honestly, anyone who can fight and who can survive outside. You said it yourself, you don't have many mice to spare. So give me who you can, I'll make due.

He turns towards Vivian.

So, lass, you hear her, this will be dangerous. Are you feeling up for it?

Patrol Leader

Sorry, forgot to dot the thread so no new posts showed

George nods quickly and slips his head through the door.
Lass, come in here, this might be important
He returns then to the table and looks over the map. He gives Gwendolyn a once-over and crosses his arms.
So, Gwendolyn, what can we do for you on this very nice day?

Patrol Leader

Did I forget to write something down?

Patrol Leader

Rootin' tootin' and ready for shootin'

Patrol Leader

I'm here

Patrol Leader

So mine's good?

Patrol Leader

Ok,here goes.

X. George always saves for winter. Coming from a long line of Harvesters, he knows that resources can go scarce, and that it is always better to eat something than nothing.

XI. When confronted with a threat George knows can face on equal footing, he will always fight, as well as if the threat is more powerful but not overly so. If the threat is overpoweringly bigger, he will opt for the wise choice and run. Unless someone else depends on him stalling the threat and he'll gladly give his life to save another.

XII. George fears owls something terrible. He was once snatched by an owl, but was rescued and saved by his compatriots. He has hefty respect for wolves as they are a great threat, but does not hold any irrational fear for them. He hates and fears weasels, because they are small enough to cause real problems for the Guard.

XIII.
Blizzard-wise
Freezing-wise
Patrol leader-wise

George is quite knowledgeable about cold weather, blizzards and freezing cold in particular. Since he's been patrol leader for a while now, he is also quite knowledgeable about duties and requirements expected of him.

XIV.
While George receives his pay, he hasn't inherited any of his mother's renowned haggling skills. He can pawn off some interesting tidbits he finds on his voyages, but not for a premium price. He also sends some of his money to his family regularly.
As for circles, George knows a lot of the mice in the Guard, and a lot of mice in his home town, he's also well known by harvester mice as he will always try to lend a helping hand to them.

XV.

Compassionate - George always had a lot of compassion for the downtrodden, weak and unlucky, he always tried to help. He still does, to this day.

XVII.

Bitter - After years in patrols George has seen many a friend perish at the talons, teeth and accidents all the while seeing that the Guard was woefully under equipped and understaffed for the ventures that they were meant for. He's since grown bitter over those issues

Patrol Leader

Ah, I see. That confused me to be honest. Thanks, making changes.

Skill from hometown is harvester, trait is alert
