Initiative if necessary (I got the impression that Aluvian's already rolled initiative, but just in case): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 Genevieve takes a small step back in revulsion at the sight of the mouldering forms shambling forth from the darkness, a brief flare of crimson light flashing at her throat. Quickly reigning in her emotions, she channels the energy into an icy blast directed towards the nearest walking corpse. Ray of frost 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5(only 1 if the zombie is in melee by the time I act.), 1d3 ⇒ 2
Genevieve smiles briefly to Janiven at the reassurance of a bath, then frowns thoughtfully when Kleggisnep mentions the possibility of a Hellknight trap. "I'm not so sure," She speaks, sounding more confident than her thoughts would betray, "Surely the safehouse is not so obvious that it could be found by a simple search of the city - after all, we were only found in the tavern because the knights followed Morosino's retreat... I only hope our current pursuit doesn't end in a similar outcome."
"I certainly hope to have a very long bath once we're out of this pit," Genevieve comments to Kleggisnep as she flicks a clinging strand of filth from her sleeve disdainfully. "This safe house of yours does have a bathtub I hope?" she asks Janiven meaningfully while they await the results of Corvus' inspection of the doorway.
"Thank you all the same," Genevieve smiles to the priest, then looks over to Sordello, "how are you feeling?" she asks him sympathetically. She looks down at the goblinoid corpse thoughtfully for a moment, considering Kleggisnep's words, "maybe we should try to hide the body? Or perhaps we could just move it a little down one of the passages we are avoiding?"
Genevieve spins around at Sordello's exclamation, her hand raising unconsciously to grasp at her necklace. Backing against the wall of the sewer, she sends a glance down each of the tunnels leading to the intersection. Aluvian: 5' step if necessary to be against a wall, then an active perception check for more goblins (1d20 + 0 ⇒ (14) + 0 = 14). Standard action will be to fire a Ray of Frost at the nearest additional goblin, or the original one if no others are spotted. (1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3, 1d3 ⇒ 1)
Genevieve smiles gratefully to Koveless and Kleggisnep as they strike down the approaching beasts. She then turns her attention to the remaining torbles assaulting Sordello, lashing out once more with arcane cold. Aluvian: 5' step to gain a favourable angle of attack, Ray of Frost
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12(only 8 if cover is unavoidable), 1d3 ⇒ 3
Genevieve suppresses a small gasp of pain as the creatures' excretions burn at her feet. Backing away from them she pulls out a small dagger to fend them off while thrusting forth her other hand and speaking an arcane syllable, causing her necklace to flare briefly and a wave of icy energy to spring towards one of the jelly-like vermin. 5' step, draw a dagger and cast ray of frost at one of the Torbles.
Genevieve moves towards a wall breathlessly, almost reaching out to it to support herself before noticing the slimy surface and deciding instead to lean forwards with her hands on her knees. "I would be..." she lets out between heavy breaths, allowing the glow of her necklace to fade in the light of Kleggisnep's mace, "happy to provide... the diversionary lighting..." She looks longingly towards the grating above, before looking back towards the tunnel behind them, "I've lost track of where we have traveled... where does that opening lead?"
Genevieve nods in thanks to Janiven as she hands out the vials, tucking them into a pocket in her cloak. "Wait," she whispers to Morosino as he moves to take the lead. She draws out a roll of parchment from the tube at her belt and begins to unroll it as she hurries forward. "Just in case," she says to him, before reading arcane phrases from the scroll and reaching out to place a hand on the boy's unarmoured shoulder. Falling back to be close to her brother, she repeats the spell on herself before returning the scroll to its case. Mage armour twice. Marching order wise, I'll go either in front of or behind Koveless.
Genevieve calms down when Janiven begins to lead them to the exit, and even breaks a smile at Kleggisnep's comment. "No, this was hardly the sort of tunnel I had in mind," she offers him, "but don't worry, when the bards are recording our exploits, we can always omit this detail." When Koveless plunges into the sewer ahead of her, she waits for a moment to allow him time to assess his surroundings before she continues, grasping the necklace around her throat as she descends, filling it with a ruby glow.
Sordello wrote: It looks like things are picking up now! I was going to order the CoT path, as I usually DM, but I am enjoying playing this with no knowledge of the actual path and very little of Glolarion. I was about to give up on the chance of playing this and prepare to run it for my local group too, but fortunately Aluvian popped up just in time!
The revelation of Hellknights surrounding the tavern causes Genevieve to fumble with the metal lid, but she quickly regains her composure in time to catch it before it can clatter to the ground. “A way out?” she asks Sordello, a hint of panic rising in her voice, “the boy said we are surrounded, how do you plan for us to get past the Hellknights outside? Unless you mean to fly us away, or maybe you know of some secret tunnel to lead us to safety?”
At the knocking at the door, Genevieve lets out a small gasp, a brief flicker of red light appearing at her throat. Rising more slowly than her brother, she moves to peer cautiously around his shoulder at the door and bites nervously at her lip while her hands work at the lid of a small metal tube at her belt.
Genevieve’s cautious expression remains as Janiven speaks, but as she hears more about the woman's plans her eyes begin to take on a glimmer of excitement. At Sordello’s comment on their hostess’ personal motivation, the actress remains silent, but despite her efforts she does reveal subtle signs of her agreement with the half-elf’s sentiment. “If only we had a reliable account of these beasts!” she pouts, “I’m sure if we had an accurate description we could at least begin to identify them.”
Genevieve seems to relax at Corvus' remarks, apparently seeing that if this were indeed a trap, they would all likely be dead already. "A very good question," see speaks quietly, looking over to Janiven, "how does one fight shadows? Is there anyone alive who has even seen these creatures, let alone actually fought them and survived?"
Listening in polite silence to Janiven’s words, the young actress at first nods her head slightly in agreement with the woman’s sentiments, but at the final statement Genevieve’s eyes widen noticeably in surprise that anyone would dare speak such thoughts aloud. Shifting uncomfortably, she finds herself looking nervously around the room for unseen listeners, reminded suddenly of rumours of erinyes disguising themselves as charismatic rebels in order to draw out potential traitors. Aluvian: Does Genevieve recognise Janiven’s name as someone from Westcrown? Does she seem completely sincere? (I guess so from your post)

Genevieve listens intently to Corvus’ reply, then glances over to Janiven, “Well, I can’t speak for any of the others, but my brother and I were invited here with the suggestion that we may be able to help prevent any further injustices being brought against the people of Westcrown.” She lays a sympathetic hand on the back of Koveless’ arm, continuing in a subdued tone, “I don’t think there is very much that can be done to help our own problem now.”
Genevieve looks to Corvus with an open expression, her eyebrows arched, "if we are here to work together in finding solutions to our respective problems, would it not be in all our best interests to get to know one another a little before continuing?" She looks from face to face before finishing, "I for one, prefer not to put faith in strangers."
"Quite," the actress agrees with the half-elf as she raises her glass, "such gifts should not be overlooked." After setting her drink back down and continuing the meal, she looks back over to Sordello questioningly, "if you don't mind me asking, what brings you back to Westcrown? Your memories of the city don't seem to be fond ones."
At Sordello’s mention of the authorities, Genevieve sends a concerned glance to her brother. “Things have been troubled here for as long as I can remember,” she says to the half-elf with a grave expression, “I haven’t noticed things worsening, but perhaps the changes have been gradual enough that only fresh eyes can see them clearly.”
Arriving not long after the designated time, two hooded figures enter the building, one noticeably larger than his more diminutive companion. Looking around the room and carefully ensuring the door is closed, the smaller figure pulls back her hood to reveal the friendly smile of a woman easily recognisable by anyone at all familiar with the Westcrown art scene, as the actress Genevieve Vossare. “It is nice to meet you all,” she speaks, turning her warm gaze to each of those present, “I am Genevieve, and this is my brother Koveluss.” She gestures to the man stood beside her, before looking expectantly towards his hands.
