LFG for PF2e - veteran player that is willing to play almost any role needed. Looking for Friday or Saturday nights (prefer Fridays) 6-? GMT. GenericFutureMan#4766 on Discord. Thanks!

I was thinking of using the Deadtide as a catalyst for getting the PC's interested in going to Gauntlight. I was going to use the Founder's Festival as a reason that people are out in the streets and socializing and to showcase different NPC's and then, if things were to get slow, use the Deadtide event to draw attention to Gauntlight and spark chaos.

Can anyone think of a reason this would be a BAD idea? I can't think of any and I am wanting to make sure I am not missing something.

I am wondering if anyone knows of a place where the story is summarized (preferably as detailed a possible)? I found that someone listed all the side quests (which is very helpful) but I am trying to read through the AP and it would be a lot easier if there is a summary/breakdown. If I know Belcorra's intent and motivations and some of the other creatures intents and motivations it would be easier to freestyle and let the players do whatever and make it feel less linear. Obviously I can read the whole AP but I am looking for something less time consuming for my prep.

Thanks!

I added the first level of troubles in Otari to get everyone used to their characters and introduce the town before jumping them into AV. This was our first run in Pathfinder 2E having been pretty committed to first edition for a while.

This made the characters 2nd level when they started AV so they had a slightly 'easier' time with the top level.

I've kept them at 2nd level to start the 2nd floor of the vault. I'm not giving XP but am instead leveling at the speed of plot, aka the idea per the adventure path of what level they should be before starting the next part.

It's made them feel like they're L2 for a bit, so I likely won't use the rest of troubles in otari. If you do, my guess is that will be the only issue you run into is they may out-level AV if you do both at the same time.

I was going to do almost exactly this. Players are basically on a cart to Otari and I am going to riff off of their character concepts for why they are going there. Maybe a wizard found wizards in Absalom to be to stuck up and they heard there was a library in Otari with a librarian that likes to "talk shop." Something like that.

I am also going to put the fishing village on the way to Gauntlight to 1) add some low level encounters 2) get them an early magic weapon 3) have an early ghost encounter.

I am still trying to figure out a good motivation for them going to the Gauntlight. Probably it will just light up while they are there?

Looking to play PF2 after getting burned out on 5e after 4 years of play. Willing to play just about any role in a party. Would prefer an AP or Society play rather than a homemade campaign. Availability is limited to Friday nights from 6pm - 12am PST.

Legends isn't a NPC stat book. It's a book about player-side stuff related to those NPCs you can pick/acquire/learn, from what I understand.

I think this is a great point and idea.
