I think there is a totally different way to look at the Bladebound Magus' Arcane Pool use per RAW... The enhancement of the Black Blade (+1 to +5) comes from the Magus' Arcane Pool by using 1 AP point to enhance the weapon; as it says in the book for the Magus. The plus amount the blade actually gets is based on the level of the Magus; as it says in the book. The Black Blade HAS to have the pluses added to it (and this is an all or nothing enhancement; use the AP point and you automatically get a +1, +2, +3, etc. based on your Magus level)...you can't decide to do a +1 blade at 13th level...it will be a +4; period as soon as you use that 1 AP. Just like the rules say for Black Blade Strike. The blade HAS to have the bonus before you can add any other powers...flame, shock, etc.
Now about the added enhancements for flame, shock, Vorpal, etc. These are actually based on your Arcane Pool total too, and NOT the plus of the weapon. This is still subject to the max limit of +10 enhancement on any single weapon though. So, a 13th level Magus with 10 AP could use his AP points to make his Black Blade (or old longsword for that matter) a +4 Vorpal blade for 1 min (+4 enhancement and Vorpal [+5 cost] for a total of [+9 cost] < his 10 and < +10 max), but could NOT make a +4 Dancing Vorpal blade (+4 enhancement, Dancing [+4 cost] and Vorpal [+5 cost] total of [+13 cost] > his 10 AP and > +10 max for an item). This is how we have played a Magus from the beginning. Enhancements the Magus can add to his weapon, Black Blade or not are then the same as far as overall power, but a Bladebound Magus will always have fewer AP to use for enhancements or other abilities because of his 1/3 AP progression. Balance and sense.
