Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Round 4

"Fer clangin' out loud! More fetid drool?!," Garik blurts out again with extreme disgust now that the ichor of the second zombie adds to the already flowing ooze which started from his upper extremities and now going down to his boots.

For the barbarian, indeed Ustalav adventure tales may have mentioned the gore but to be steeped in it and to actually smell the damn gore was vastly, nay, immeasurably different from the actual!

Looking for a way to vent his increasing frustration from his now rancid situation, the young dwarf continues on to the last zombie he finds at the other end of the narrow-passaged catacombs.

"Ye want to burst forth, too?! Huh?! Huh?!"

Garik moves to the last zombie and attacks. Last time I was able to see the map I think his 30-ft move should be quite enough to do it.

Rolls: :
Mwk Waraxe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 Damage: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

But with the slimy zombie goo & stench-filled entrails splattered all over his body, Garik somehow loses his concentration on his onslaught and misses the last zombie standing.

Round 3

"Urgathoa's crap! Beetle goo and now this!", Garik blurts out as the rancid remains of the undead he just hacked inexplicably burst and covered him with magnificent grossness!

The young dwarf trying to wipe off the slimy entrails, squirmed and hopped like one who seems to have some crawling rats inside his armor, while at the same time worrying if like the beetle spit they encountered before, this one could also melt flesh.

Realizing that no visible burn is evident on his exposed skin, Garik manages back to be aware of his surrounding and deftly sidesteps and escape the blow of the next charging zombie.

"Oh no ye don't! Ye slimy dead!"

Rolls: :
Mwk waraxe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

As the young barbarian feels his well-placed blow connect fatally again, Garik gingerly (as quickly as he can) extracts his shiny waraxe from the zombie and moves back away from the undead, fearing like the one before, this one would also bathe him with equal splendid ickiness.

Garik would make a 5-ft step away from the zombie he just attacked,i.e., if it's possible since as of the moment I'm just posting this via cellphone and I can't see the map via my cellphone.

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Garik was stupefied by the massive blow the rotting zombie dealt to him.

With stoic grimness and realization how dangerous these particular undeads can be, the dwarf swings again his axe with a two-handed grip and determined seriousness.

Rolls: :
Mwk waraxe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

"Ah! Ye taste me shiny axe ye filthy fiend!," Garik roars with mixed terror and anger as he instinctively put his full weight on his two-handed-grip swing at the zombie. The young dwarf though anticipating an attack was not as prepared as he thought he was on the uncanny visage of the undead in front of him!

Rolls: :
Masterwork Axe: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 (+2 BA,+3 STR, +1 masterwork, -1 STR from Shadow Damage) Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 (+3 STR,+1 Two-handed bonus) Well so much for all those bonuses from being Level 2 :(

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

The eerie effect of Raven's lights, the stench of the dead, and Bolkin's ominous words bring forth to Garik's minds again the Ustalav tales he frequently heard before from his father's client adventurers.

"Never thought I'd be in one o' those creepy crypt tales! Guess we jus' be needin' ta survive this crypt tho' ta make sure our tales can be heard . . . be hopin' more though on rescuin' also Roldare's sister, 'tis not fair fer her experiencin' all this alone!"

And so saying, Garik makes sure again his tight grip on his new waraxe and cautiously follows Telp's lead.

Perception check on the nooks and crannies of the corridor1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 Level 2 +1 on skill already added; Garik'll just increase all his skills for his levelling up

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Garik agrees silently with the group and proceeds silently to take his place in the marching order.

As the smell of rotting flesh become more apparent in the corridor, the young barbarian dwarf remembers what Drosk said about undeads on their way to the crypt.

Seems so long ago but I reckon it's just been a few days when we were just bantering about these walking deads, what strange evil's come a lurkin' here indeed?

Garik stows away his morningstar and takes out his shiny new waraxe; addressing it with his crooked smile.

"Well, that smell's tellin' me it may be yer time to do some hackin' me pretty blade!"

OOC: :
Still working on Garik's level 2 stats but as a heads up, he'll be taking the Invulnerable rager archetype from APG giving him DR / 1 at his present level though he loses the uncanny dodge path. His rage power will also be Swift Foot which gives him 5-ft enhancement bonus speedwhile raging.

Apologies again for a very inconsistent posting. Am still posting via my cellphone but I've been keeping track, it's just that it's easier to just view our thread but when it comes to posting, my cellphone line provider is a major letdown so that I've been losing some of my posts; i think it has something to do with when it comes to secure postings.

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Garik's rage subsided as his last blow obliterated the bloody skeleton.

Keeping a wary look on the now inert red-splattered bones, the young dwarf welcomes Drosk holy ministrations.

"Aye Drosk! Thanks Torag indeed! But tell me would ye know if these bones being bloody 'n' all's normal? If not, what in Pharasma's name does it mean?"

Perception check on the bloody skeletons: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19Garik's just trying to check if the skeletons being bloody is of any significance

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Still raging, Garik's wanton pounding seem to have deflected the red-splattered swiping bones of the skeleton in front of him and with the welcome relief of the unearthly creature's miss, the young dwarf barbarian took a mighty rage-filled swing again.

"Har! Ye'll regret that miss ye bloody scrap!"

Rolls: :
Mstar atk: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 Dmg: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

With his chest pounding with dread for what may have happened to Bolkin and the barbarian rage spewing out of him at the same time, Garik moves on to the remaining skeleton still standing in front of him and Drosk.

"'ey! Bolkin! If ye can still hear me there! Just hang on fer Torag's sake! Be poundin' first this bloody thing here!"

Rolls:
Mstar: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 Sorry forgot to deduct the -1 from the shadow earlier. Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Cripes! A one?!!! Oh well seems the bloody thing will still have its chance to do some more nastiness!

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Garik felt dread on the bloody appearance of the walking bones and gave him a bit of pause but as he saw the bloody things put down Bolkin, his anger surfaced and the dwarf barbarian swung his morningstar mightily at the nearest creature him.

Garik'll be raging and sorry can't see the map right now as I'm just using my cellphone so I'll just have Garik attack the nearest one

Mstar: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 str -1 is still in effect from the shadow atkDamage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

After the group found that the arrow trap posed no threat anymore, Garik relieved himself of the cumbersome shield and continued on to the triangular room with four pillars the group found themselves in now.

As they hear some scraping bones and an ominous moaning coming from what seems to be at the further bottom of the crypt, Garik looks longingly at his new waraxe and then with a sigh stows it away and puts out his morningstar instead.

"Well it seems it's not yer time yet to be of use at this point me exquisite axe, that sounds of bones call for a dif'rent kind of poundin' fer sure"

"Am ready when ye are, Telp!"

"And Drosk, we might be needin' Torag on this next scrape!"

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

"Yer right on, Raven, usin' the shield! And Bolkin, I'll be glad to take point!'

Garik stows away his present weapon and uses the magnificent waraxe his mentor unexpectedly gave him. The young dwarf barbarian is quite overwhelmed with the smith's gesture as being vouched for the quest was honor enough for the dwarf and realizing that the gift is not just a plain weapon but a masterwork overcomes the dwarf with unexpected warm emotions that seem to make him feel something is in his throat!

"Aherm! Me heart yearns to use this axe to whoever's messin' with our crypt but if Kassen's shield is what's needed in the arrow room then so be it!'

Garik will follow Drosk's action but if it's possible he'll try to hold both the waraxe and the over-sized shield in the arrow room but if not then he'll stow away first the axe and use the shield on both hands.

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

"Well, seems like it's still a wood after all even being animated an' all, me axe dented it quite well. Dunno thought how long me arms can keep this hackin'!"

Garik will take a 5-ft step (if necessary) before he attacks to give him & Telp a flanking bonus.

"Ok Telp! Be hackin' again to give yer sneakin' a help!"

Waraxe Atk: :
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Damage (two-handed hold): :
1d10 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

"Ok then ye give the same help to Bolkin after yer sneakin'! Let's be doin' the same dance as long as we can!"

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Sorry guys! It was literally sleep and work only for me these past days.I'm definitely still here! :)

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Garik quietly listens to the group's discussion on how to deal with the wooden Kassen and knowing he still feels the weakening blow from the shadow's yesterday, agrees with the plan for Bolkin to try and fit in the key on the animated statue.

"Ok Telp, be joining ye on distractin' our wooden Kassen here. Let's be drawin' its attention and Bolkin, as soon as ye see the chance then do try yer thing!"

Garik tucks his morningstar away and holds out his waraxe instead with both of his hands and gets ready to draw out the statue's attention away from Bolkin.

"And Telp, i'll be on the other side o' the oversized Kassen 'nd hope yer sneakin' just like with the beetle works as well!"

Since the point of Garik's attack would be to draw out the wooden Kassen's AOO, he won't be using his acrobatics to avoid AOO as he moves near the large creature.

He'll move at the opposite side where Telp will do his attack and then attacks. If the flanking works, the resulting attack below would be +2.

Waraxe atk :
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

waraxe damage (two-handed hold): :
1d10 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

As the woodn statue of Kassen becomes animated, Garik could not help but gives out a sigh as he swings his morningstar towards the threat.

"Well I guess we shouldn't be surprised of things coming alive here in this crypt! Torag guide us then!"

If Garik's near enough already, he'll attack the animated statue right away

Morningstar: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Damage roll: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

If not, he'll move towards the statue and attack the next round

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

The huge wooden statue took Garik's breath away. Though, the young dwarf barbarian's expertise focuses on things made of metal, he couldn't help but be impressed. He had always thought that even if his interest had gone into carving wood, he wouldn't be able to excel in it as he surmised that if he makes mistakes while carving the wood, he could not melt it and re-do everything again as what he does with metals in the forge.

Garik's reverie turns to cautious mien again when he realizes that they are still in the crypt, a haunted crypt it would seem since they arrived. And so he looks warily again at the huge wooden Kassen, gripping tightly his morningstar poised to strike just in case the statue inexplicably becomes hostile.

Perception check on statue: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

As Drosk retells the events yesterday to Grukk and Roldare especially concerning the ghost they encountered, Garik only realizes that they fought the spirit of the the charred villager. The dawrf barbarian thought all along that the shadow/ghost was the one who dealt the villager its charred fate.

Well Drosk does know his letters indeed in clerical things methinks.

"Well yeah, Bolkin. Ye better take me place first in our line, am still bit under the weather despite Drosk's healin'"

"Ok, Telp! Lead on! To the crypt's dungeon we go then!"

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Enjoying an uninterrupted sleep seems to leave Garik still a bit weakened from the shadow's attack yesterday.

"Thanks Drosk fer yer mendin' last night. Though I might be needin' some more time to shake off that blasted ghost's touch yesterday. Me body's still feel a bit like a knife needin' some more poundin' in a forge!"

The dwarf barbarion dons his hide armor and takes out only his morningstar.

"Well let's check on the two then."

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

After Raven finished checking up the room and finding nothing magical in it, Garik gently placed Drosk near the stone bench and then placed himself beside the sleeping cleric after removing his hide armor. Then the young barbarian promptly fell asleep.

Garik woke up a bit from Drosk's sudden dream-induced groan about him making a noise.

"Ye had your bit sleepin' already, my friend!", Garik sleepily retorted."We're all ok, let's go back ta slumberin'". The barbarian vaguely remembers the cleric administer some healing and fussing over everyone's wounds and sores as he let his exhausted body enjoy a good night's sleep.

"Surely yer father's mighty proud of ye, Drosk . . . surely, indeed..." Garik mumbles as he drifted off to sleep again.

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

"Well Bolkin, it's pretty clear we had tested our limits fer today."

Garik looks around the room and surmises that the mural room is big enough for the group to spend the night in.

"And am definitely calling it shuteye time! This room will do quite nicely fer sleepin'. We can lock the door yonder and that one-way door should definitely make sure we won't expect anyone comin' from there. Methinks then not to bother keepin' any watch fer tonight."

Suddenly Garik feels uneasy as he sees the mural with the disturbing scene of carnage.

"Er. . . Raven if ye still got some more to give fer the day . . . And if ye don't mind maybe ye can do that magic razzmatazz around this room just like ye did findin' that key in the pool . . . ye know just to make sure der won't be any surprises fer us tonight in this room?"

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Garik sighs a thankful relief after he hears the door closes and mutes the dreadful sound of the still ticking flying-arrows-filled circular room.

The dwarf barbarian glances at some of the scattered arrows that went through the mural room and as Telperion correctly deducts, they are indeed blunted.

"Bah! Gotta love this town to go all the trouble keeping us safe as it were! But I hope Drosk wakes up alright, a noggin' hit that knocks ye out is always nastier than the hit itself from what I hear."

Then the young barbarian realizes that his panic-driven dragging of Drosk's seemingly blissful slumbering body took him and the cleric quite a long ways from the one-way door and deep inside into the mural room. He sheepishly smiles.

Then he also hears Telperion's surprisingly indignant retort despite the obvious danger the elf had just narrowly escaped.

An image of the elf running around the circular room with all those flying arrows however blunted comes into Garik's mind unbidden. And hearing Drosk now snoring beside him, Garik bursts out in a relief-filled laughter!

"Ah! Torag bless us, indeed!"

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Yeah Zeb, you're the man when it comes to making unepic scenes into one :) I don't know guys it seems our party's version of crypt of the everflame so far is in my opinion is so entertaining enough that it can be the basis should the module is made into a novel or even a movie or mini tv series :D lol!

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Garik felt his heart sink as his paranoid warning came somewhat true. Though the dwarf could not help amidst the tragedy but admire how incredibly graceful or how inexplicably lucky Telperion was to evade the ensuing rain of arrows!

The dwarf saw Drosk took an arrow to the head which was luckily blunted by his friend's helmet though it was strong enough to drop the dwarf cleric cold.

Bolkin remained standing after taking an arrow in the gut which like Drosk's arrow also luckily got blunted by the town guard's armor.

"Listen ta Bolkin, Telp! Yer a rat in a cage there! Let's be goin' away from here fast! Now!"

Turning his gaze to Bolkin who's still valiantly holding on the door for the elf still in the room, Garik started to drag Drosk's unconscious body back towards the mural room.

"Bless ye, Bolkin! But just hang in der fer a wee bit longer fer Telp and Drosk! Be draggin' me friend here to safety."

Str check to drag Drosk away to safety: :
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

OOC :
Darn! The room's description was similar to a trap room I played back in my college days except in that room it was a pillar full of blades that kept us running around in circles in the room until we timed it correctly to get out a door that closes & opens after so many rounds. So Garik's yell was somewhat a metagame quip but I tried to justify it though as it was consistent anyway with his overwariness in the mural room, with that fussin' over the mural & of all things --- a bench :) Man! If Bolkin & Drosk did not prop the door open just in time I don't know how Telp or whoever else got in are supposed to get their behinds from this cunning trap! Though I'm curious with that nonlethal damage arrows? Are they just illusions again? Well I guess we'll find out soon enough in this encounter.

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Afte looking closely at the mural & the bench and finding nothing extraordinary, Garik looks up to find the rest of the group already looking beyond at yet another door (curiously propped open by Bolkin & Telperion) at the end of the mural room.

"Talk about testing our limit, indeed! ,"the young barbarian quips with an enthusiastic smile as he follows the group.

But as Garik takes a peek, too and contemplates how the circular room looks, the dwarf's smile turns into a look of concern as he gets an uneasy feeling especially after realizing why Bolkin & Telperion are holding on the door.

"Aw cripes, Drosk! Telp! Methinks the arrows pointin' out around the room 'n this door bein' one way is enough to tell me that if ye get in ye'll get peppered by those arrows while being trapped like a rat in a cage!"

"Dontcha be takin' another step, Telp 'til yer sure ye can disable it or somethin'!"

Garik's developing care for the group and the tragic experience he suffered with his father clearly manifested in his present growing overwariness in the crypt.

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Bolkin's sobering comment on Garik's sudden zeal to continue on beyond the fountain room made the dwarf barbarian hesitate but the group seems to agree anyway with his rash decision and they all entered the now unlocked door . . .

. . . and found fortunately nothing apparently dangerous inside the room except that there was a large mural of Kassen amidst a scene of carnage at the crypt's entrance.

Garik couldn't help but be reminded of how the mural looks similar to how their group's earlier entrance into the crypt as if they found the remnant of this mural's actual picture but now with the addition of the dead villagers and horses.

Garik looks closely at the mural, dreading that like the skeletons, the dead bodies in the mural might somehow suddenly come alive as well.

Perception check on mural: :
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Garik's paranoia also extended on the lone stone bench in the room.

Perception check on bench: :

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

"I say we go on with this door first before we get some shuteye. Let Grukk enjoy his cards with Roldare first and hopefully the bard's talent can finally calm the cobbler's panicky behavior."

And so saying, Garik takes a deep breath and holds on tightly onto his morningstar and started for the door that their "ghost room" key was able to open.

The dwarf barbarian briefly glances at the rest of the group, hopeful that indeed the rest concurs with him just trying out this one room before they call it a night.

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

With Raven suddenly taking command and shooing them all away outside the fountain room as she decided to retrieve the glowing key revealed by her magic, Garik tried to protest in the wisdom of leaving her alone but the dwarf ultimately kept her mouth shut. "Be needin' ta give her the respect am givin' ta the elf's ability as well."

"Well if the water's not that cold, ye can take yer time takin' a bath as well. Bein' clean suits ye well, Raven . . ."

The young barbarian redenned immediately with his own remark.

"Not that bein' dirty is not ok or anythin' but . . . " Rusted iron! Am really beginnin' to sound like the elf! Blurtin' out me thoughts like crazy!

"Bah! Ye know what I mean . . . sorry, am just sayin' things actually for meself, with this beetle goo still clingin' on & stingin' me still. Well, be leavin' a torch for ye here or if ye still got yer magic lights, ye may want ta use it to be sure no sudden sputterin' o' the torch leaves y'in the dark."

Garik shuffled out the door without waiting for a reply from the human girl; afraid of what Raven might say about his embarassing remark.

Waiting for the girl outside the room proved to be trying for the dwarf as he really truly cared now for each member of the team.

And so as soon as he heard Raven said it's ok to come in, Garik went in. He was still pondering what she meant with "just don't look" when she sees the human girl just wrapped in a bedroll while still drying her body not unlike someone who just came out from a bathroom!

The dwarf perfectly understood now what she meant and promptly looked away and joined the elf who could not help but stare at the human girl.

"Yep, Telp. Lemme help ye with yer trap sniffin' Be holdin' the torch fer ye as usual. "

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Looking at the clear pool and how far the bunch of keys is at the bottom, Garik couldn't help but feel a tad cautious of being too near the edge of the pool.

"That's pretty deep even for a human! Well whatever that voice said, methinks we could start usin' what we've already got. Telp's managed to sneak out the key from the ghost room. Might be it fits one o' the doors locked yonder."

The dwarf barbarian points to the couple of locked doors at the south wall.

"If y'all want to try Telp's key first, I can do it. But if ye want to do yer trap sniffin' first on the locked doors, Telp, by all means do. Ye got quite a knack for it."

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

"Bless ye Drosk remindin' us it's certainly shuteye time! Though got me a sapped strength now, I can still have some more ta give enough explorin' that fountain room before givin' ourselves a well-desreved rest."

Garik feels his body screaming for rest but with just one weapon on one hand instead of two to compensate for his diminished strength and the still bottled anger in him that is yet released, the dwarf barbarian knew it was enough to plow in some more into the crypt's dangers for tonight.

OOC :
Garik hasn't used his rage for the day so he can still offset his sapped strength for an encounter and is ok with checking out the fountain room before the group takes a break.

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

"Am not so sure that'd be the everflame . . . Drosk's dousing did seem a fine job snuffin' it out . . . unless all the queer going-ons here so far also did somethin' wrong with the town's flame . . ."

Garik felt a tide of regret and a tinge of fear if indeed what's happening in the crypt also did make the eveflame lose its eternal glow. It would hint of powerful magic at work and the dwarf barbarian thinks even with his newfound respect for the group, that they are indeed merely Spice Guardians and would be ill-equipped and ill-experienced against more powerful foes such as the shadow they just escaped from.

"But I guess Bolkin's right. Might be needin' fer us to explore this crypt to make sense of this mess. And our fellow Kassenites demand justice at least!"

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

"Blessed Forgefather! Has this crypt been always haunted?! Skeletons! And now strength-sucking dark ghosts?!"

Garik is clearly flustered with the surprising weariness the shadow dealt him. Even now the young dwarf barbarian could feel keenly the weight of carrying two weapons. He promptly put aside his light mace and went on just carrying his morningstar on his right hand.

"Methinks the only immediate way is to go down deeper from that 'beetle' room or we go back to that fountain room Gruuk mentioned. Either way is fine with me."

Suddenly Garik felt the same nagging feeling he felt when they were just leaving Kassen.

"Er . . . actually the right way methinks is the way to the everflame. And frankly now that we're here in the crypt, be havin' no idea at all where the flame might be. Does anyone know? Did we miss anythin' from the map they gave us? A clue maybe where the flame might be found?"

Garik will let the ones with the appropriate knowledge skill roll for this if it's a good idea or if it matters at all.

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

"Aye, indeed, Drosk! Torag bless ye! Yer the only one hurtin' it, methinks!"

OOC :
As posted earlier, Garik will now withdraw and go out the door.

"Great sneakin' on the key, Telp!"

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

heh :) I feel silly now that I see that I did not double post after all in our main thread....my cellphone's slowness might have tricked my eyes :-P

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Garik felt a profound weariness engulf his body after the menacing shadow swiped at him. "Well this aint no wolf fer sure" The dreadful and palpable feeling the shadow gave him and realizing that the group might indeed be overmatched, prompted the dwarf barbarian to start retreating however he decides to warn the others first.

"Aye,Telp! Ye got the right idea! This be shadow here got some uncanny art of sapping me strength! All of ye better head out for the door! Be keepin' it busy fer a bit!"

OOC :
Garik's action for this round is Total Defense to give time for the others to make their moves towards the door. He'll retreat the round after, doing a withdrawal action that would not provoke an AOO from the foe.

Garik amidst the withering feeling the shadow gave him, inexplicably remembers Raven's pointing to a key earlier.

"And guys! Dontcha be fergettin' the key Raven pointed out before ye get out! Got me hands full here!"

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

OOC:
So sorry guys on the double post. I'm still doing my posting thru my cellphone and it's really slooooow in refreshing the screen. I thought I didn't hit yet the submit post button.

Work's still a bit of hell hence it's taking me a while to give time making my home online or be online in an internet cafe. So guys just move Garik enough to reach and attack the foe.

As Drosk doused the fire and the ensuing smoke billowed more to suffocate the group, Garik thought too late about what he and Drosk practically observe everyday in the forge whenever they dunk hot objects in the water and forgot to warn the others what might happen for a while.

"Ooops! Sorry Telp, forgot to tell you that might happen" as the dwarf barbarian sees the elf coughing anew. And as he looked closely at the elf and the smoke, Garik sees a shadowy figure with menacing red eyes which reminded him of the wolves they encountered in their first night out of Kassen but this time these eyes are obviously unnatural!

"Guys! Look out! Seems like the smoke's conjuring something like a shadowy figure with night wolf eyes!"

The young dwarf barbarian points out with his light mace to the figure for the rest to watch out for just in case they are unaware of the creature and he moves toward the figure with his upraised morningstar to unhesistantly attack it.

"May Torag guide me hand!"

"Well Drosk. Methinks this is just a burning debris left unattended. Maybe ye could do yer summoning and rid us of this smoke"

Garik felt pity and anger at the sight of yet another apparently corpse of a villager. He hopes it's not Dimira's. The thought of bringing such a bad news to Roldare made the young dwarf so angry that he couldn't tell anymore if the tears from his eyes were from the smoke or the injustice of the situation.

The young barbarian tightens his grip on his weapons as he looks around the room, ready to pound on something dangerous to vent his anger on.

Hi Zeb, Thanks for the room description. But as I've said I got my head spinning around when the others made their moves :) Hey but don't worry I'm nearing to having an online access at home soon....yeah...yeah... I know I'm one of those who's not wired at home...well it's just that when I'm home I spend my time mostly with my family and don't bother going online...but this time I suppose I'll have to really do make the time for our PbP coz frankly I'm liking our group's character interaction ...though it's quite regretful that Grukk's gone.Ok back to the office I go!

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Round 1: 15hp

Garik unprepared to finding a large beetle instead of some adventure-tale-inspired nemesis, stood gaping; a precious moment of hesitance that cost the young dwarf barbarian receiving head-on some form of burning goo from the creature along with the others who at least had some sense to hurt the creature first.

Reflex Roll:
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Fully aware now of the creature, Garik moves towards the creature and swings his morningstar hard at the creature's head.

"Sorry ye blasted beast! Be considerin' ye as messin' with our town!"

Rolls:
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 Damage Roll: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Garik's Position:
Garik is now at P20. Thanks for the description, Zeb. Though when Telp, Drosk, and Raven made their moves I really couldn't make it out anymore in my head :D lol .... and so out I went to my office just to post here in an internet cafe. I'll be going back to work in a while. At least I've jotted down on a piece of paper right now the present map with the notations and numbers so I can keep up in this room for a while thru my cell phone :)

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Listening to the others handle the cobbler's wild-eyed talk, Garik felt a bit of anger to whoever obviously started a kind of uncalled for mess in the town's yearly pilgrimage. The dwarf felt a kind of injustice akin to what he and his father suffered under Kurmog.

Garik's admiration of Drosk's integrity on the other hand is reinforced by how the young cleric assuaged Roldare's panicky behavior.

"Aye! Dontcha be doubtin' us, sir! We'll deal with whoever started this uncalled for mess!", the young barbarian can't help but add to Drosk's assurance, self-consciously wondering if his appearance might further unhinge the cobbler.

Garik pulls out his light mace again to join his already out mornningstar. "We'll start with that scratchin' whatever you heard, Telp! They be doubtin' now messin' with our town!"

Ok guys just move Garik in front as I still am using my cellphone & am runnin' blind without the google maps :) sorry :) Also, Zeb,I just realized Garik was holding his morningstar when he made the comment about hacking the door well let's just say he was doing a Bolkin impression in that post hehehe . . . That impression Bolkin made in the ceremony with his flail :) lol

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

FYI also. Just had my web access up at my new work but dang! Paizo is blocked, even the google maps :( So I dont even know where Garik's in the map hehehe.... Though been posting via my cel which is quite difficult,my cell couldnt show the map as well. But hey dont worry I'm stil working on havin' to post regularly,it's just that it's so crazy at work these days that I cant even make time to access in an internet cafe (which we have plenty of here thankfully!)
:) just saying Garik's here, guys!

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

Sensing that the one inside the room is obviously agitated, Garik chose to keep silent and be as inconspicuous as possible. "If the undead rattled him that much, what more if he sees scarred gargoyle like me in this dark crypt! Better this fairy girl here do the talkin'"

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

After going north as Telperion directed and thankfully going back again without triggering any of the traps he found, Garik went back to his place and stood just in front of the closed door.

He listened attentively to Raven's intuitive idea. "Ok by me, Raven! Be openin' the door here then while you and Telp pull all those levers we've seen", offered Garik as he kept holding just his waraxe after Telperion took back his torch.

"Be holdin' the door open for y'all. Drosk & Grukk ye be goin' in first when the door opens and look out fer any danger comin' that a way while I wait fer Raven, Telp and Bolkin."

The dwarf tried again to open the door just in case Bolkin's holding down just one lever was enought to make it open.

The door remains closed.

"And if we cannae be makin' head nor tails of those levers . . . ", Garik pauses and looks appreciatively at his sharpened axe with a wicked grin. "then I can always hack this door to pieces if need be! Har!"

Garik is pleasantly surprised by Telperion's enthusiastic acceptance to take point and is quite amused with how the elf just stepped through him and Bolkin as if the elf's going to charge into battle.

But the dwarf's amusement was replaced by a sobering realization when Telperion indeed found some traps and . . . a lever? "Desna's will! We're indeed mired deep in an adventurer's tale!"

The young barbarian couldn't place what he's feeling at that moment: a mixture of excitement, consternation, fear, and disbelief that they truly are adventurers! A mischievious smile not unlike Bolkin's seems to form on his scarred face with the realization. And so with all these going through his mind, he quickly put his light mace aside on his belt at an easy reach and accepted Telperion's torch while still holding on to his morningstar.

"Ha! Gladly Telp! Seems we truly are at this very moment livin' an adventurer's life! So ye just get rollin' on what ye do best!"

The dwarf solicitously holds the torch to give light to whatever lighting's needed by the elf's work.

"Just be tellin' me where to place the torch as needed."

Hahaha! Fun stuffs there on Raven's household! Love it!

Male Dwarf Barbarian / Level 1

oops! Din't notice that Grukk meant the "other" door but I guess Raven's right that the group has decided to do some heroic saving first and seems like by what the new map reveals we're going to the source of the wailing which presumably is the one on the right of the map.

Ok guys, weekend time so Garik'll be quiet for some time. See you then!
