I mostly just hurt people.

Jal Dorak, you're new rage rules are useless! I don't even get anything to spend my rage points on. And what I do get is either overpowered or not worth taking! Insert inappropriate off-colour insult here! I know I'm right without even playtesting because I'm smarter than all of you!

How could I not when i already had the alias and everything?

Explosion of Gamer Rage seems like a well reasoned and intelligent person. I agree with every point he made. I'm glad someone finally said it.

When he finally gets his laughter under control, he picks up his beer, peers into it as if expecting a fly, and then drains the whole pint, calling for another before the glass has hit the bar.

It takes several long minutes, but eventually the dumb looking orc across the bar starts guffawing. “Har, har, har! The fly drank his beer!” he slaps his knee. “I woulda ate the fly too. Stoopid fly.”

Ha! Killed me good, nice hit Vanin - just!

Yes, good game everyone, thoroughly enjoyable. Ah well team, we did well, if only evil could work together a little better ... maybe Garash should act in more of a support role next time. And curse all those Protection From Good spells, kept all my good tricks from being used! Double curse enlarge+spiked chain+spare spiked chain+combat reflexes!!

I'll get you next time halfling! Gnome! Whatever.... ;-)

“Har, har, din work!” taunts Garash, (being an annoying git).

“Now, you’re mine giant humie!” he yells, charging at Vanin, his shortspear out-thrust. (to square K7)

To hit: 1d20+8=24 - Hit (although I just realised I forgot to factor in the bonus from charging).

Damage: 1d6+6=11

Now, I seem to have it in my head that movement as part of a charge does not provoke an AOO from the subject of a charge, but I’m buggered if I can find that in the SRD. Can I have the arena master’s ruling?

“Git over ere Bitey!” yells Garash, but the wolf is still off cowering in a corner (for another round).

You may be tripped, roll your strength check first.

Hmmm, I rolled it, guess I didn't put it in the post. Nope. looks like I didn't. Ok, here is the first part of my post, which appears to have been chopped off when I pasted it into here:

1d20+6=14 : Strength check to avoid trip.

As the halfling’s whip wraps around Garash’s leg, the orc braces himself steadily with one leg, and yanks the entwined leg hard, trying to drop the halfling – who handily releases his grip on the whip to avoid this fate.

Ouch! Nice hit Vanin.

"Yer, yer, I'll git im," mutters Garash, keeping an eye out for the sneaky short 'un.

Rurin's turn,

False Arenamaster wrote:

Logan said "Clarification: Did the AoO that took out Jathali prevent the damage on Logan?"

Yes it did.
The AoO would've happened before Jathali's attack.

BTW- Spartacus' horse flees to X11-Y12 and will remain there for the rest of the fight unless molested.

Garash has been known to molest horses, but will probably leave this one alone.

I beleive Vanin is up.

Garash takes a 5 foot step to space M7, and casts Cure Light Wounds on himself.

1d8+3=11

[ooc}Ha! Doh! Bitey doesn’t have Devotion yet…[/ooc]

1d20+1=7

Bitey turns tail and runs!

“Bitey! Come back ere ya wuss!”

Vanin gets an AOO at Bitey. Bitey flees to square T1, and loses the benefits of several shared spells – note that these benefits will not be lost during Vanin’s AOO, as Bitey will still be within 5ft of Garash until after this point.
Will take Garash’ turn shortly. Status check on Jathali and Spartacus – are they dead, dying, unconscious?

Nilgaar wrote:

ie, it's Rurin's turn.

Stabbed by a shortspear, and being ripped to shreds by the sharp teeth, Heinrich lets out a final, gutteral scream, and then falls silent.

Thanks for the good times everyone, it was a great first-time play-by-post! Go Blue team! I'm with you in spirit!

Sorry bout that mate - good game though! I got some lucky rolls in those last couple of rounds. Nice trick with the disarm too.

Actually, can I get a ruling from the Arenamaster on whether those two AOO actually hit Heinrich? I'm not totally certain if I should have been targetting his "prone" AC (in which cast they hit) or his "standing" AC (in which case they miss). I think its the former, but best to check these things.

Heinrich the Bold wrote:

Standard action: Total defense (AC 20)
Move action: Stand up from prone (provokes AoO from Garash and Bitey)
Finally: Take a 5-ft step away if not dead.

“Stay down humie!” Garash snarls, striking at Heinrich with his shortspear.

1d20+8=22 -Hit!

1d6+6=7 damage.

Bitey also attacks:

1d20+7=20 –Hit!

1d6+5=11 damage.

“That’ll learn ya!”

Vanin Ironheart wrote:

Vanin takes a swing at Garash.

1d20+10 2d6+10

Also, Vanin should be at H9/I10 on the map.

to hit= 19, damage 13(if it hits, I haven't checked)

That misses Garash (AC 21 with current spells in effect)

“Gah, shut it, shorty,” mutters Garash.

He takes a 5 foot step towards Heinrich, into L8, drawing his shortspear as he moves. Bitey likewise 5 foot steps to K8.

Garash attacks (with shortspear)! 1d20+8=22 – Hit!

Damage: 1d6+6=9

Bitey attacks (with bite):
1d20+7=21 -Hit!

Damage: 1d6+5=11

Bitey makes a strength check, including adjusted strength modifiers for advancement, spells and racial mods, to trip Heinrich as a free action: 1d20+5=18

Heinrich must make a strength check OR dex check (his choice) beating this score to avoid being forced prone.

“Ha! Gaaaar!!!”

Heinrich the Bold wrote:
Damn, you're absolutely right! I'm really sorry about that, I'll 5-ft step 5 feet directly away from Garash to L9 if that's alright with everyone. Again, sorry!

*sigh* - I suppose that's all right.... ;-)

Heinrich the Bold wrote:

Reflex save vs. burning hands (1d20+5=18)

Suprised at the burst of flames from Nilgaar's fingertips, Heinrich still manages to barely avoid the worst of the fire.

"Alright! Looks like the cavalry's coming!"

Using his final trick to slow down his opponents, Heinrich attempts to trap Garash's scimitar in the protusions of his ranseur to disarm him. (+8 attack bonus, +4 improved disarm, +2 ranseur, +4 two-handed weapon for a total of +18 to the disarm attempt, it does not provoke AoO since Heinrich has Impr. Disarm)

Disarm attempt against Garash (1d20+18=33)

Aside: Damn these virtual dice love me. I wish I could roll half as good in real life.

Wow! I won't bother going into invisible castle to oppose that roll, 'cos I can't beat it on a 20!

"Raaargh!!" Garash screams in frustration as his scimitar is knocked from his grasp.

EDIT: Only problem is dude, you're next to me and didn't move ... so you can't disarm me with reach weapon from your current position.

“Argh, lucky hit big humie! I kill dis one, den I kill you okay?”

Not to be picky, but is Garash a valid target for Vanin given the positions of Bitey and Heinrich? Probably he is, I’ve never quite understood the intricacies of reach…

“Uh, yeah guys, watch out fer dem bugs, dey fast and poison …. Ar, neva min’ da big monk’l deal wid it… Awrite Bitey, les ged dat humie!”

Garash will move into melee with Heinrich, ending his movement at square L7. Bitey lopes along beside him, also moving into melee with Heinrich at square K7.

Garash attacks with his scimitar, drawing it as he moves.

Attack: 1d20+10=23 - Hit!

Damage: 1d6+6=7

Bitey attacks with, yes, his bite.

Attack: 1d20+7=8 - miss…

Garash’ Will save:
1d20+5=15

Bitey’s Will save:
1d20+1=17

I’ll post Garash’ turn in the next half hour or so.

“Huh. Centimapedes. Stole me trick,” mutters Garash, trying to rack his tiny brain for what he may know of such vermin.

Knowledge, nature check = 1d20+2 = 19

Spoiler:
Trying to recall particularly how fast they move and what sort of poison they use.

“I’ll take it or you lot can, up ta you. Can’t emapthasise wid it tho.”

Garash moves to space N2, whilst Bitey moves to M3. Both are careful to stay out of the reach of the enemy human’s polearm.

Once there, Garash casts a spell.

Spoiler:
: Magic Fang on Bitey.

For Nilgaar and Jathali:

Spoiler:
:I’ve tried to keep a path free should either of you wish to engage Heinrich next turn. If something comes through the door I can potentially still go back and deal with it if you two are on Heinrich, but this position also may allow me to deal with any of the Goodies coming down this side next turn.

“What’d ya hear at da door?” Garash asks Nilgaar. “Ar, neva mind, we’ll deal wid it later, let’s take dis guy wid da big stick down. Shuldn't be too ard.”

Sorry Spartacus, I don’t see any way I can get to you and heal you this round (or possibly even next) – you’re just too far away, and with a guy with mean reach standing over you. The way I see it, I’d need a full round movement (run) to reach you, retrieve a scroll, and cast a spell, suffering at least three AOO on the way…

False Arenamaster wrote:

Garash is up.

I’d like to give Jathali a bit of a chance to adjust his movement – his position may effect my action. I’ll post within 2 hours either way.

"Ar, dem horse boys like ta play 'ero. Never be da firs' ta charge I reckon"

Once Rurin has taken his turn (so as not to hold things up):

Spoiler:
Garash will cast Bull’s Strength on himself, sharing the spell with Bitey. Garash will then move forward to space R6. Bitey is moving with him, ending up in space Q7.

To team mates:

Spoiler:

"Yer, I'm for it. Des slings an arrows don work, out-rage-us fortune!"

Nilgaar wrote:

"Aww, pig balls! That priest is a wee bit tough to hit, ain't he?"

"An he got a long arm wid dat chain now..."

"Des do-gooders are so slow, we shud beat em easy hey?"

"Waaagh! Go horse guy! Trample dat hairy chain dude!"

“Awright, lets git goin Bitey. Argh, dese guys can’t hit nuttin. Oh, har, har, har, dey hit dat guy up in da stands, dats funny!”

Garash casts another spell on himself from a scroll, then moves out the doors to space Y6. Bitey moves with him, ending up in space X6.

Spoiler:
Casts Barkskin on self, shares spell with Bitey. Duration: 30 rounds. +2 natural armour bonus.

"That's who we're gonna kill? Meh, they don look like much. One of em's jus little!"

“C’mon Bitey, time to kill fings,” says Garash. “Youse guys ready?”

He pulls out a scroll, tracing it’s contents with a finger, mouthing the words silently to himself as he goes.

Spoiler:
Cast’s Cat’s Grace on self from scroll, sharing spell with animal companion. +4 to Dex, duration 30 rounds. +2 to AC, +2 to hit ranged.

Init: 1d20+2 = 5

Starting position: Z6
Bitey’s starting position: Z7

Awrite, I tol Bitey not to bite so 'ard, and chucked somma my stuff, shud be good to do evil now.

Awrite evil folks and discoverers, I'm ready. Lets kill some fings.

Oh yer, can do that.

Evil discovery har har har!

Need to level up and change a few things, but he's halfway there!

Fake, is having our character stats listed in profile enough, or do we need to submit to some arena page I keep hearing about...?

How about an orc team? Grom needs some companions.

Garash Gnarlwood, orc druid.

I have a bit of work yet to do on the character (mainly buying equipment), I should get it finished after the woodend.

I guess we'll be on the Red (CE) team?
