Liberty's Edge

I need email addresses to invite you to Roll20. I'll be waiting on those. Thanks guys.

Liberty's Edge

I'm sorry about the delay guys. Life has been busy lately.

Liberty's Edge

To Aramis: I'll allow you to be out the door, but the musket isn't loaded.

The half-orcs look at each other and then both immediately remove their daggers. They nod to each other and each slashes at Grunt. They laugh as they do this. They appear to be taunting Grunt at this point.

Orc 1
Move Action: Moves behind Grunt.
Standard Action: Swings dagger at Grunt.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Orc 2
Move Action: Moves in front of Grunt.
Standard Action: Swings dagger at Grunt.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

I apologize for the delay. Order is:
Mallory
Aramis
Grunt
Ezekial

Look for a post in the discussion for a map before posting.

Liberty's Edge

The guards continue laughing at Grunt. "Oh! He says Mra, Mra.. Dumb brute!" The guards position themselves on either side of Grunt, essentially trapping him. They are still highly amused with this creature. One even begins making crazy faces at Grunt, seemingly trying to provoke something.

Liberty's Edge

Hmm. We'll probably scrap the live idea, until a later date. You each need to set up an account on Roll20, please. Then post usernames here.

Liberty's Edge

At this point, the two large Half-Orcs standing near the bar begin to move into the crowd. They are tough-looking characters, with bandanas on their heads and no shoes on their feet. "That'll be enough of that!" one of the half-orcs yells out in common. The other starts speaking in Orc to Grunt, trying to get him to comprehend. When it is clear that Grunt wouldn't be communicating back, the half-orc guards grow increasingly angry. They make the ruffians in the bar sit back down, and threaten to kill anyone who starts a fight.

"DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME? YOU.... ARE.... AN.... IDIOT!" says the larger of the two, and they both begin laughing at Grunt. The two half-orcs seem to be enjoying using Grunt as a tool for their amusement.

Liberty's Edge

Gotcha. Are you comfortable using Roll20?

Liberty's Edge

At this point, the bar is growing crowded. Night is beginning to fall. There are pirates and ruffians scattered at the various tables along the back. There's also a group of 4-5 females who seem to be attempting to solicit their "goods" to the sailors. You notice a few of the women will trickle out among the crowd, talk to a few of the men, then head into the back with them. The bartender is a tired-looking old man who doesn't appear to be enjoying himself. There are two large, beefy half-orcs standing on either side of the bar that seem to be the "security". As if they do too much...

Liberty's Edge

Right now, this is a prequel I have made. The AP seems to start in media res, which I dislike. However, as far a combat goes, is anyone opposed to using Roll20 for maps, pawns, and such. It doesn't have to be done in real time, and you'll still post in here, it just makes it easier to see a map and you'll be able to move your pawn.

Also, I want to gauge your interests in doing a "live" game on Google Hangouts or Roll20, where everyone gets on at the same time and plays live. It would be at a time that works for everyone, and if we can't find one, we don't have to do it. I just know that combat can get lengthy in a PbP.

Liberty's Edge

I can dig it.

Liberty's Edge

Perhaps the intoxication penalties will be lessened, since she's so used to it. I'll look into that later and get back to you.

Liberty's Edge

You don't necessarily have to do terrible acts, but you are trying to become a pirate, after all. How many pirates are good? That's the part that worries me about good characters here. I expect you to find a way to maintain your alignment, yet still become a strong pirate.

Liberty's Edge

@Aramis, yes. I'll alert you when it happens.

@Mallory, I'll look into it soon. I know your fame score goes -100 to 100 and when you're in the negatives, you're "infamous"

Liberty's Edge

The Formidably Maid is a bar frequented by some of the worst characters, in one of the worst towns in the whole Inner Sea. Her reputation precedes her; everyone knows about the rough crowd that goes into there. Some don't ever walk out. It's often used as a pirate hangout while they are in port. Many of the pirates get paid just before getting off their ship, and all they want is the nearest rum they can find. Just outside the Formidably Maid, there are numberous large ships at port. They dwarf you as you walk down the road, with the sea on your left, and the shops and town to your right. Your characters are here, in Port Peril, the capital of the Shackles, for whatever reason. Roleplay how you got here, what you plan to do, etc. Remember, you're in a pirate capital."

Liberty's Edge

They allow you to do more things. Everyone starts with 2 fame, 0 PP, and 0 Hero Points. From there, I'll tell you when you gain PP and Hero Points, but not fame. Fame changes more, and I'll tell you when you hit benchmarks. The links are:

Liberty's Edge

By the way, PP, fame, and hero points will all be used.

Liberty's Edge

The only thing I see anywhere is that Grunt does not have his gold on his sheet. Other than that, be looking out for a post on the actual play thread.

Liberty's Edge

Okay, I'm about to start checking character sheets. Update on their status coming soon.

Liberty's Edge

Hmm. Keep the threeextra bullets on the other note it will be easier to obtain materials to make bullets rather than to obtain bullets themselves. Make sense? I have to be cryptic :D

Liberty's Edge

I will be reviewing everyone's sheets tomorrow. Anything can be changed except class/race/campaign trait. But I'm setting a deadline of 10:00 AM Central Time tomorrow to have character sheets finalized.

Liberty's Edge

It does.

Liberty's Edge

By contradicts, I would assume that nothing contradicts the neutral, and evil actions would contradict the good, correct?

Liberty's Edge

I think that Headstrong would work better from a flavor standpoint. Your choice though.

Liberty's Edge

@Ezekial, you also need to get the crunch up on your alias' profile, please.

Liberty's Edge

@Saronian/Ezekial, please use the correct alias. It gets confusing.

@Mallory, You have a little while to change it before I go in and verify everything.

@EVERYONE, please roll for gold here, much like Saronian/Ezekial just did.

Liberty's Edge

Drawbacks are fair game, yes. But just 1 per character, I'm not sure if UCamp addresses that. I haven't fully read into it yet. I'm also going to start using this alias now, think of it as Batman putting on the suit :D

Either way, this should be fun, and I look forward to getting started soon.
