I’ll make this for assuming you’re all leaving The group gather all the treasure, Zellara’s head (putting it in a bag), and dragging Yagrin, and catch up with Kyki and the kids. The dog is awake, but is not wanting and problems, and slinks away with its tail in between its legs. Before anyone can speak, the air is broken by a bell. The following silence is broken by another bell. Then a third bell. And all three bells slowly start ringing in uncoordinated unison, and the air starts to become tense. Perception 15:
You can hear the faint cries of townsfolk-some in panic, some in uproarous cheer, some in pure anger. Where do you wish to go first-you got orphans to find a safe space, a criminal to
EDIT: Almost forgot about Amadine's detect magic Amadine: The head of Zellara is not magical; the deck, however, holds incredible magical powers that can barely be comprehended. It seems as if the harrow deck is holding Zellara's spirit in some way.
Map (Old Fishery)
Romli is correct, Divo you can read the Nobility spoiler. Also he might wanna double check the loot spoiler-he might find something familiar
Map (Old Fishery)
Considering two have stated to be busy, and with the holidays coming, I won’t mind putting this on hold until everyone’s done with their holiday plans.
Map (Old Fishery)
Divo and Praxedis-you've tied up Yagrin so well there's no chance of him getting out. You're both free to explore the room with Amadine and Romli

Amadine Steleanu wrote: FYI, this is a VERY busy time of year for me. Both my mom and I have a lot more time on our hands than money, so we bake massive quantities of Christmas cookies as gifts for family and friends. I'm baking all day every day for the next week and a half or so. Please bot me as necessary, I'll be back to my regular schedule after Christmas! The good news is combat won’t be happening for a bit, but I hope you don’t wear yourself thin with all the baking!

Amadine or Romli @ Hatbox:
Opening the hatbox will reveal the severed, rotting head of Zellara, poorly preserved and decorated with unsightly makeup in a crude attempt to give her a semblance of life. You find her harrow deck in a smaller wooden box under the stump of her neck. Amadine or Romli @ Above, Heal DC 10:
Zellara has been dead for weeks. Amadine or Romli @ Footlocker:
This footlocker, after unlocking with the iron key, reveals a treasure trove of items, each one wrapped in cloth tied with twine. They include:
-A narrow teak cigar with tiny bits of jade (worth 25 gp)
Glass Tube, Wand, and Vial Spellcraft DC 16:
You identify the glass tube as containing a dose of oil of keen edge, the wand as a wand of magic missile with 23 charges, and the vial containing a dose of silversheen Brooch Knowledge Nobility DC 15: To your absolute astonishment, you recognize this as a brooch of nobility-not just any nobility, but a prized piece of jewelry belonging to Queen Ileosa herself.
Map (Old Fishery)
Romli:
The hatbox reeks of something rotten. The ledger on top of the strongbox contains a sort of journal, written in Varisian. The footlocker is locked, and seems to be containing something of value. GM Only:
Yagrin Bluff: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 13 Yagrin gulps, stuttering, "O-Of course the children like me! I didn't abuse them-Hookshanks and Giggles, they loved to torment the children. Gaedren was the worse-as your dwarven friend saw, Gaedren got rid of any kid who had no more worth to the gator. He used to just throw them to the sharks, but when the Guard found a foot and it turned up nowhere, he made me buy the gator from the black market. Said it's easier to hide the evidence. But I never turned my anger on the kids!" Sense Motive DC 13: Yagrin is lying-although he is honest about why Gaedren fed kids to his alligator, and he is honest about how Hookshanks and Giggles-the gnome and half orc you both fought earlier-treated the kids far worse. But he is not innocent when it comes to the children's wellbeing.
Map (Old Fishery)
Sense Motive DC 20: Yagrin tenses up after Romli’s words. But he is definitely not surprised.
Map (Old Fishery)
Romli: Yes. It’s clear this is the fate of the Lamm’s Lambs, as they’re called, who either cross Gaedren, or run out of usefulness.
Map (Old Fishery)
Romli: As you grab the wand at the bottom of the pool, you see several small bones. Including a few small skulls. The remains of the alligator’s meals.
Map (Old Fishery)
Romli Perception DC 15:
You can see the water is only about 15 to 20 feet deep. Making a Swim result of 12, you can retrieve the wand. Prax:
You find that while Yargin does not have the wand on him, he does have a lot more-his dagger and light crossbow with 10 bolts, his leather armor, a garnet amulet worth 100 gp...10 flasks of acid, 10 viles of alchemist fires, and a thunderstone. He was definitely armed to the teeth. Amadine unlocks the door and enters the room. This foul-smelling room seems to be a combination bedroom and study. A wooden bed with a lumpy mattress stands against the east wall, while a round table heaped with dirty plates, bread crusts, stained goblets, fruit rinds, and scuttling cockroaches sits nearby. At the foot of the bed sits a large strongbox; a slightly rusted lock secures it atop its lid. A sagging dresser filled with moth-eaten clothes well past their glory days is in one corner. What appears to be a wooden hatbox surrounded by a small cloud of flies sits atop the dresser. It is this box that is the source of the rancid smell.

Last couple days have been rough. Will update tomorrow. Will also update the loot list-I swear I made it where you all can add the loot in there. If not I’ll just update it myself.
Map (Old Fishery)
Yagrin does exactly as he does, stuttering, “I d-I do-I do-I don’t know! I think it sunk in the water?” The children look puzzled when Kyki returns. “Really? Did you all take care of Mr. Lamm?”
Map (Old Fishery)
Prax:
You don't see Yagrin in possession of the wand Yagrin's face goes white when he's told of Gaedren's fate, and he's been pulled up out of the water. He immediately points out to the room at the west, shaking badly-either from the cold or crippling fear.
Map (Old Fishery)
I’m gonna send another PM later, if Prax doesn’t respond by next week then we most likely have.
Map (Old Fishery)
Romli: You do not find her deck of cards. You do notice that there is a door to the west, and remember that Divo found and gave to Amadine some keys.

Reminder that you’re all here for Zellara’s deck of cards. Just putting that there in case it’s forgotten.

That’s supposed to be Looting Gaedren, not Divo

Gaedren's eyes grow wide with fear at the mention of the death of a noble. The terror became tenfold when Divo said that the noble was Divo's fiancé. "Wait! If a woman is the problem, I-I know the brothels in the city! I know the owners personally! I can pull some strings, get you another-" His words were cut off as Divo uses his own dagger to stab him in the heart. The old bastard's cries of pain gargled into incomprehensible mumbling, before he slumped over dead in Divo's grip. Looting Divo:
Beyond the +1 dagger, you find +1 padded armor, a masterwork hand crossbow with 9 bolts, and a keyring with several brass rings, and a single iron key. Yagrin Climb, must succeed a DC 20: 1d20 ⇒ 15 The silence in the room is cut off by a yelp, a splash in the water, and Yagrin shouting out, "Gods dammit all! Gaedren, come on, get me out of here before this lizard eats me!"
Map (Old Fishery)
Oh! Well that was still hefty damage, so rather than dying Gaedren just thinks he’s dying Divo immediately discovers a dagger-a well made dagger, with a bronze handle shaped in the image of an alligator. “D-Don’t kill me!” the old man sobs, “Please! I-I’ll leave the city! I’ll leave Varisia! You won’t see me again! I’ll do anything! Just don’t kill me!” The dagger is a +1 dagger
Map (Old Fishery)
I decided that everyone gets Hero Points! We’ll do the start of 3, I wasn’t initially going to do it but despite some hiccups on my end you all did an amazing job-say the 3 hero points was for making sure no orphan gets hurt, killing off Gobbleglut, and stopping Gaedren from escaping.
Map (Old Fishery)
Divo's hammer strikes Gaedren in the chest; a small glob of blood flies out of his mouth and almost lands on Romli as he falls over, coughing and sputtering blood everywhere. It seems as if he can't breathe. Suddenly you hear a shriek from the water, "Help! Help! Please, get me out of here!" Seems like Yagrin is no longer dazed. And the battle is done! Gaedren is currently at -2 HP, and normally I would kill a NPC below that. But Gaedren is no ordinary NPC. So now he is dying, and the team gets to decide what to do with him.
Map (Old Fishery)
botting Praxedis Praxedis, realizing she can't get over to Gaedren, loads up and fires a sling. Praxedis Sling: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Meets it beats it The stone smacks the old man in the face, who realizes how bad of a situation he is in. He suddenly yanks a small orb out, and tosses it towards Divo, Kyki and Trebelle; the area becomes engulfed in smoke. Those outside the smoke can see Gaedren making a run for it, kicking the wall that reveals a ladder. Gaedren Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 Divo, you must make a Perception check and get a roll of 11 or higher in order to make a clean attack of opportunity; otherwise you make your attack of opportunity but Gaedren has concealment (20% chance to miss your attack) Initiative (bold goes first)
technically everyone's up but Divo gets his attack of opportunity
Map (Old Fishery)
If Praxedis doesn’t respond by Tuesday I’m gonna bot for them. They’re probably still busy so I’m giving them a few days.
Map (Old Fishery)
Romli, not only do both of those hit, but... As Divo shoves the dazed Yagrin into the water and Trebelle zaps Gaedren, Romli swings his sansetsukon down onto the stunned alligator, and the room goes eerily quiet as a loud crunch echoes the room, and Gobblegut floats stiffly. "You..." Gaedren mumbles, stupefied by what he just witnessed. Initiative (bold goes first)
Praxedis is next!
Map (Old Fishery)
So I previewed the rolls and both failed, but I'll reroll to see how long the effects of color spray lasts. Gobblegut Effect Duration: 1d4 ⇒ 4 Blinded for 4 rounds, stunned for 5[/dice] Amadine's spell does the trick, and the alligator is now sightless and immobile. Gaedren clearly doesn't like that. "Yagrin, shoot that bi-" He stops midway his bout of anger to realize that Yagrin is also stunned. He starts to cuss an entire string of profanities. Initiative (bold goes first)
[ooc]Divo, Romli, Praxedis and Trebelle are up! Praxedis DM'd me and will post either tonight or tomorrow
Map (Old Fishery)
Looks like we’re back! I thought I made a post before the update happened, but looks like I either previewed it and it didn’t post or the update ate it. We’ll get back on track tomorrow.

I am completely sorry, I forgot that part. Plus, being at a high place would have given you an additional 2 to AC, so next time the gator attacks someone I’ll just take -2 to the attack roll. Botting Praxedis Praxedis Escape Artist: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 Praxedis tries to squeeze through the door, but her armor gets caught on a nail, causing her to use more energy to get herself inside. Double move to enter Gobblegut Swim: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22 The gator hisses as Romli gets its attention, and it surges out to snap at the dwarf. Gobblegut Bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Gobblegut bites down hard on Romli, dragging him into the water 3 feet down the pit. looks like it's a DC 15 Climb to get out of there on your own. Gaedren yelps as he gets electrocuted, glaring at the kobold. "You! I swear it would've been so easy to frame a kobold! How the hell did you escape the gallows?!" He notices Praxedis and comments, "Hey! What are you doing with these low lives? I can pay you a pretty gold to toss them down to Gobblegut!" Regardless, the old man aims his crossbow at Trebelle. Yagrin grits his teeth and aims his wand at Kyki. Yagrin Use Magic Device: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 There was a slight sputter, but a glob of acid shoots out towards the goblin! Acid Splash, Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
It hits Kyki hard and the goblin can feel the painful sting of acid. As Amadine pushes herself in, Gaedren smirks, “Ah were you the one talking with a nephew? Kyki that attack misses, I'm not sure if they still take the splash damage despite the miss. Yagrin yelps and ducks as the alchemist fire almost hits him. Gaedren snarls, "You! The air in this room is chilly and stinks of the river, thanks to a huge opening in the floor that drops away to the river shore three feet below. Several pilings emerge from the waters to support the roof eight feet above the floor, with mossy ropes slung between them. In two places, rusty manacles hang from the ropes over the water. Two five-foot-wide walkways cross the hole to the other side of the chamber, where a collection of old cabinets, lockboxes, and piles of clutter are strewn about. Chipped porcelain plates, a cracked goblet, badly rusted silverware, an old wooden shield with a crossbow bolt embedded in it, the odd dinged helm, and other "treasures" litter the floor of this side of the chamber. Three tables heaped with clutter stand amid this mess. In the southwest corner, a wooden door provides acces to a walled-off section. Yagrin whirls around and shrieks, "They're here! Gaedren, they're here!" "Shut your yap!" Gaedren snaps, looking as Romli enters. He is a bent corpse of a man, his eyes yellow and his skin spotted from age. His left leg is standing oddly, as if it never healed properly from a wound. He raises his eyebrow at the dwarf before chuckling, "Eh? I've seen your face before. You got a sister, don't ya, dwarfy? Yeah, yeah now I remember...oh I wish I could've seen your face when they dragged her to the stockade. Wonder if she's wishing for you to save her? Wonder how wonderful her scream will be when someone sends her your severed head in a little gift box..." With that, he loads his arrow and shoots it inside the opening. Hand Crossbow Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Surging from the opening, a bellowing alligator thrashes in fury. And Gaedren smiles wickedly. "Yagrin, that wand better work or Gobblegut's gonna have some stew tonight!" Kyki and Amadine are up!
Map (Old Fishery)
As Divo tries to open the door, he finds it's locked. Praxedis Disable Device: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 Praxedis immediately gets to work, and manages to unlock the door easily. The opening is made at an awkward angle, where only Kyki and Trebelle can enter without difficulty. For everyone else, make an Escape Artist check-if you fail, it takes a move action to enter the room. So who will try to go first?
Map (Old Fishery)
I'll bot for Praxedis to come across Praxedis follows Divo, some distance away. She keeps steady even with the creaking of the board, stopping every time the wood was bumped slightly by a shark. She looks back at the others, nodding quietly, silently telling the others it's safe, as long as they go slowly.
