Joseph,
Beckett, in those situations I find that the best thing to do is just talk with your GM about it. Most GMs are fairly reasonable about those sort of things. If we make something official then we will get tons of questions about what it means and if it works in these 20 situations, etc. The rules lawyers will have a party and find loopholes we never intended. In this instance, I thing that GMs already bend the rules on it a little and silence is the best policy for the society.
I would like to respond to a couple of points Beckett has made. I totally agree that this thread is lost in the shuffle. I only happened upon it looking through the recruiting threads. I would really like a fourth PBP forum where we can keep discussions of this nature, PBP help threads, and anything else that is not related to a single game. The current 3 threads are mostly used for running games and so anything else gets lost very quickly. Also, posting in the PFS forums with a link to this thread or others would be a great way to make sure people find it. Who knows, we may get some more people involved as well! As for Completion rating, I don't think it's that big a deal. I have GMed 10 PFS PBP to date and not one of them has needed to end because my player base disappeared. In two of my games there was one player that dropped off the face of the digital world. They received not credit as they would have if they walked away from a table game. In general it seems that the commitment of the PFS players is higher than the average and because the scenarios have a set end point there are less issues with players going awol. As for the character in only one session rule, I would oppose a motion to relax this for PBP games. How lame would it be if you were playing the same character in two different games and he died in one of them. Then you would be expected to play for a whole month more with a character who you know is already dead? No. For the integrity of PFS and online play, this rule is needed. For determining boons and die rolls I don't see this as a big problem. If you want confirmation that the player has a re-roll item, then have them take a picture and send it to you. If you want to check a boon, then tell the player to scan the chronicle it's from and send it to you. As a GM you are well within your rights to insist to see the player's documentation at the table, this should be no different for a PBP game. If players want to use this medium then they must be willing to make any allowances the GM deems necessary in order to run a society approved game. Having a game space that would work well with the PBP format and is integrated with these boards would be awesome. I too have noticed that some of the maps in the scenario PDFs can't be copied out without the overlay text. That makes providing a great game much more difficult. It seems like a newer development in the publishing formats. Please, please, for the love of all things Pathfinder, don't do that!!! Also, it would be really nice to have buttons that would automatically specify the text format by highlighting the text and hitting the button. As a GM, its really annoying to make all the text formats right when you are running a large combat. A slick way to do that would be really helpful.
Hello! I love the PBP format for my character and to GM. With 2 little kids it is a great way for me to get my gaming fix. I have been involved in PFS PBP games for over a year now I have GMed at least as many PBP games as table-top games. I would love to be involved in the conversation, I can play in a PBP if you need another player, and I look forward to the Google Hangout!

Hello all. It’s high time I let you know what’s going on. I’m dealing with some heavy real life stuff right now. It is very possible that I will lose my job in a few weeks and will need to look for a new one. Given this stress and others, my capacity to give you the memorable gaming experience I take pride in providing for my players is not possible for me at this time. I need to put this game on indefinite hiatus. At such a time where I am again able to GM I will contact all of you again. In the meantime, feel free to use these characters in other scenarios. I don’t want to tie them up for you any longer than I already have. Best of luck to you all! I look forward to the day when I can return.

Ref: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Dawnbringer heads back out until the floor in the hall drops away and he lands hard next to a creature that looks very much like the one he just slew in the vault. Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6 From the top of the stairs comes the voice of the widow. Oh my, I almost forgot. Be careful, there is a trap to catch anyone who is walking out of the vault. There is a lever on the bookshelf to the right of the door inside the vault that disables it for when you come out again.

Ref: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 As the Taldans enter the room to look around, Natashenka who is following a little back lets out a yelp when the floor in the hall opens up and she drops out of sight.
Almost at the same moment a figure seeming to come out of no where emerges from the corner and a knife flashes towards Wadsworth, embedding itself in his shoulder.
Round 1

Tim, 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 Wadsworth, 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 Rhydderch, 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 Natashenka, 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12 Zahkar, 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 Zahkar

Oh, well we didn't really get very far. And after Fisk died we hid in here until you came along. The first door on the left has some strangely well preserved bodies. The statue in that room is trapped, well sort of. He points to the room you came from. If you touch it it sometimes helps and sometimes hurts you. Don't know why. If it's all the same to you all, we would like to get out of here.

The brothers look at each other. No, that pretty much sums it up. Undead, wants to eat your face, and attractive if you are in to those kind of things. It was behind one of the doors down the hall. Second door on the left. Or maybe it was the third... no, no it was the second. The other brother chimes in. We came in through a fissure in the rocks, just around the corner there. We are treasure hunters! No telling what you can find in these ancient caves. Of course, we should probably be more prepared next time.

Two Tengu step out of the shadows. No! Please. We are explorers. We found our way down here but then we were attacked by this sexy-undead-monster-thing. We retreated here for safety. We had no way of knowing you were not the monster come back to feast on our flesh!

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18, Damage: 1d4 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + (2) + 1 = 7.
As Dasiji enters the room, daggers flash from the darkness, one of them drawing blood. Then a startled voice speaks. Hey, wait a sec. This is a live man, not a dead one. Hold off Skezza, don't kill him!

Side Note: Dasiji, do you own Ultimate Equipment? If you do, the Traveler's Any-Tool is really handy. With a great heave the door cracks open. From the door you see biers of solid gold encrusted with glittering gems lie against the walls of this chamber. Golden candelabras stand nearby, empty of candles, and the walls depict a glorious afterlife filled with riches and luxury, painted in bright pigments and gold leaf.

Tim walks to the door and opens it. Beyond the heavy steel door, this darkened chamber is lined with shelves, including freestanding shelving in the center. There is ample room in the vault, but labeled boxes, bags, weapons, and armor are spread throughout. You will need to take a look around to see if anything was stolen.

Through the stars in the back is a short set of stairs leading down to a bare corridor the a set of double doors to the vault. A hook for a hanging lantern is mounted on the western wall at the base of the stairs, and underneath it is a single chair. Tim, are you heading in then?

Wads and Tim:
In the side room to the left you see that the furniture has been moved around a bit and where there used to be a rug on the floor, it is now missing. Upon looking closer at the room, you see some blood spatter on the walls and floor. Oh, that's our vault, where we keep our most valuable items. Come to think of it, we have not taken a look to see if anything was stolen. Would you mind checking it out for us?

After delivering the Lady Morilla's letter to the Gillman embassy, you find out that they were not aware of the false deal. Apparently the bartender was the brains behind the operation and is wanted in association with several other heists. The journey back to Absalom is uneventful. Drandle apologizes for sending you on a fool's errand and is glad you did not loose the real artifact to the con men. He will recommend you for future assignments.

Vankle seemed like a nice guy, honest as far as hired guards go. I remember he had this tattoo on the back of his wrist, a raven I think. Could be nothing though. Some people like to leave their past behind. You all can look around the place, if you like. Maybe you will see something we missed.
