The Imperial shuttle pilot is badly wounded by Tinn's blaster, and he dives for cover behind the door to the cockpit. (Spending the two threat to give him cover.) Status:
Shuttle Pilot 6 wounds.
Droid 7 wounds. For any attacks made against the Shuttle Pilot, add a ⬛ for cover. For ALL checks, including attacks, made against him, if you don't spend a Destiny Point to upgrade your check, I will spend one to upgrade the difficulty. :) _____________________________________ Initiative Tarlor

With a single pull of the trigger, Tarlor Choh takes down all three stormtroopers. The droid, badly damaged, says, "Oh my! We're under attack." and tries to escape into the shuttle. target? ABC order: 1d3 ⇒ 1 Another voice can be heard from inside the shuttle, "You will feel the might of the Empire come down on you, scum!" Blaster fire from within targets Nato. Tinn sneaks up behind the Imperial protocol droid and shanks him. (Dealing 7 damage.) Meanwhile, Tarlor goes for the stormtroopers but fires his weapon prematurely. Fortunately, this provides an opening for Nato to take his shot at the bucketheads. [ooc](Nato gets a boost die to attack the stormies.)[ooc] Status:
Tinn is Engaged with the droid.

@Tinn: How much damage does that do? I believe the vibroknife is +1. For melee weapons, you add that to your Brawn, then add to the number of successes you have. I think it also has Pierce, right? Also, because this is a surprise round, you need to take 2 strain to move from Short range to Engaged. Does anyone else want to act in the surprise round?
"Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla and Bogan. The light and the dark. I'm the one in the middle. The Bendu."
The even more confused Imperial starts to raise a hand, then stops, shakes his head, and leaves the room, possibly to find his superiors. Nobody told him about any drills tonight. Any Computer checks you want to make will be Average difficulty. Add 1 black die because it is an encrypted system. Make one check for each task you want to accomplish. Ildun can assist, which adds a blue die to each check.
"Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla and Bogan. The light and the dark. I'm the one in the middle. The Bendu."
Wait. What? lol The Imperial officer stares at Ildun for a moment, confused. Somebody (Ni'kol) please roll a Deception check. Average difficulty, but add a setback die because you are INSIDE the outpost. I will let you also add a boost die because of Ildun's quick computer work. Alternatively, while the officer is distracted, you could spring your attack. (Or do something else altogether.) Your choice. @Ildun: also, you suffer 1 strain.

Ni'Kol grabs Ildun by the collar and pulls him under a desk. The two hide briefly as the Imperial officers walk by, oblivious. The gangsters continue on their way, and easily locate the Computer Operations Center. The door is open and they sneak into a room filled with a row of computer terminals. Another Imperial officer is seated at the computer terminal working on something, but he seems to not have noticed the intruders. He is currently at Short range of you.
"Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla and Bogan. The light and the dark. I'm the one in the middle. The Bendu."
Meanwhile... Ni'Kol picks up one of the other carbines dropped by the stormtroopers. Ildun De and Ni'Kol Jazmin make their way toward the computer core. As they are moving through one of the rooms in the operations center, they hear a couple of Imperial officers approaching. They must quickly decide what to do. If you guys want to try to sneak through, the difficulty is Average. Remember that you would make one roll using Ni'Kol's ranks in Stealth, but Ildun's Agility rating (so 3 dice, upgraded twice). Another alternative is to try to bluff your way past. And of course, shooting is always an option of last resort. Whatever you try to do, the difficulty will be Average. If it is combat, the officers have Adversary 1, which means you need to upgrade the difficulty dice once. Just make your roll when you are ready to proceed.

The gang gathers under the nose of the Sheathipede, well hidden from the stormtroopers and droid. You are now at Short range of the droid, and he somehow doesn't see you. The stormies are at Medium range, still with cover from the shuttle. I am going to roll initiative and go into structured time. You guys all get surprise actions. This first turn you get a single action, no maneuver (but you can add a maneuver by spending 2 strain). Initiative Rolls:
Nato: Cool 1.0.0 --> 11 Jorn: Cool 0.1.0 --> 10 Tarlor: Cool 1.2.0 --> 23 Tinn: Cool 0.2.0 --> 1 Stormtrooper Sergeant: Vigilance 2.1.0 --> 15

Ildun De repairs the burnt out power transfer unit, and in record time! In so doing, he has noticed that the Computer Interface Processor is offline. It can be rebooted with an Average Computers check or bypassed with a Hard Mechanics check. Operating the landspeeder without the Computer Interface Processor adds ⬛ to all Piloting (Planetary) checks. (If you go the Computers route, Ni'Kol can assist you, granting a boost die to your check. If the Computers check fails, you may still attempt the Mechanics check instead — if you have 2 or more threat on the Computers check, add a ⬛ to the Mechanics check.)

"Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla and Bogan. The light and the dark. I'm the one in the middle. The Bendu."
The Sheathipede is a very small shuttle. It won't fit a speeder bike. (That doesn't mean you can't still try to take it.) Also, I think you guys stashed your bikes, so you don't need to worry about them.
"Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla and Bogan. The light and the dark. I'm the one in the middle. The Bendu."
Ildun and Ni'kol work on the landspeeder while the others head deeper into the base in search of the armory. (Each group will have a comlink set to the Imperial channel — unless you want to change the channel.) Tinn, Jorn, Nato, and Tarlor follow several passages that lead to the courtyard of the outpost. Tarlor points to another small building across the compound, "That is the armory." There is a Neimoidian sheathipede-class shuttle on a pad near the armory. Two stormtroopers and a stormtrooper sergeant are moving crates from the shuttle into the armory, supervised by a black RA-7 protocol droid. The shuttle is Medium range from where you are now, and there is not really anything between here and there. The armory is Long range. You can consider the stormtroopers to be at Long range also. Plus, they are mostly behind the shuttle. The droid is at Medium range, next to the shuttle, but he has cover from where you are right now.

Tinn Ma’Ko wrote: Okay, well then it's onward to the armory for me then! What does the hallway beyond look like? TL;DR: It's a hallway. ;P I think what you are asking is what is the layout of the place. In case I'm wrong, and you want a description of the outpost, it is built in the Imperial Brutalist style of pre-fab architecture. Meaning lots of cold, blank, metallic surfaces, with odd protrusions, meant to invoke unease. Regarding layout... I'm GMing this a little experimentally. I don't have a map for the place, and I don't want to create a map. For the most part, hallways will be unimportant, here and elsewhere. I won't put traps in them, or anything like that, and I generally won't describe them too much unless the descriptions are for setting the mood. I will rarely put encounters in them unless I have a strong plot-driven reason to do so (such as a chase, or in the case of the fleeing droid, an encounter spills out into one). Why?
Let's try this instead:
I really want this to feel like we are creating a movie together. For example, I have no idea what the actual layout of the Death Star looks like. I bet we could create some cool scenes there, though, just from what we know: there are different levels, some big open spaces, hangars, prison blocks, trash compactors, bridges, etc. Ok, I'm off my soapbox. :) Some of the locations within the outpost are: the armory, the computer room, command, communications, barracks, mess, shuttle pads, TIE fighter pads (still under construction), cargo and freight, etc. If there are any other areas that you think should be in an Imperial outpost, feel free to suggest them and we can go there too. :)
"Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla and Bogan. The light and the dark. I'm the one in the middle. The Bendu."
I'll let you guys decide what comes next. But you don't need to wait for Ildun to make his checks that I called for. We can put everything back in the right order later. Let's just hear what you guys want to do. :)
"Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla and Bogan. The light and the dark. I'm the one in the middle. The Bendu."
The gang investigates the disassembled T-44 landspeeder. Ildun De may make a single Easy Mechanics check to note the problems with the landspeeder. For each uncanceled success, you may look at the appropriate spoiler below. For every 2 uncanceled advantage you get, you may add a blue die to one future Mechanics check to repair the broken system (only one blue die per check, and they are added in the order listed below). 1st >>BAM<<:
The Power Transfer Unit is burnt out — probably as a result of the Main Power Coupling being connected to a ground-state device, in this case a member of the Imperial Vehicle Corps. It requires a Hard Mechanics check to replace it, or the vehicle won't start.
2nd >>BAM<<:
The Computer Interface Processor is offline. If the Computers check fails, you may still attempt the Mechanics check instead.)
3rd >>BAM<<:
The Motor-Control Relay is disconnected. Without it, one cannot adjust the throttle on the landspeeder. It requires an Easy Mechanics check to reconnect. Piloting the landspeeder without the Motor-Control Relay adds ⬛ to all Piloting (Planetary) checks when operating the vehicle.
4th >>BAM<<:
The Steering Trim Actuator (sometimes referred to by laymen as horizontal baffling) is out of adjustment. An Average Mechanics check will allow you to center it, otherwise it will suffer ⬛ on all Piloting (Planetary) checks when operating the vehicle.
For any you succeeded on, you may make the appropriate checks to repair.

Jorn's whirlwind attack from his double-bladed vibrosword downs one stormtrooper with the forward stroke, then cleaves through the other two one the backswing! They all fall to the ground with a series of plastic THUDs. END OF ENCOUNTER Upkeep: Everyone earns 5 XP. (I had forgotten to assign XP from bypassing the stormtroopers in the first place, so I'm adding it here.)
Recover strain that you suffered this encounter, up to your Presence rating. If you suffered 3 strain, and you have Presence 2, you recover 2 strain. @Tinn can get an E-11 blaster carbine from one of the stormtroopers. In addition, everyone else gets 125 credits.

@Tinn: the vibroknife does 5 damage, pierce 2. (1 for the success, 3 for Brawn, +1 for the knife.) Pierce 2 means that it ignores 2 points of soak. With that, it is just barely enough to inflict 2 wound points. Tinn stabs and slashes at one of the stormtroopers, and her vibroknife cuts into his plastoid armor, drawing blood.
