Count Coltello wrote: I like undead apocalypse but question is with that many undead (whole world)
Who stops it?
Where did they come from?
How did they live?
What happens when they kill all undead?
How does earth(or named of your world) "repopulate"?
Guess that was questions
Last one why do they attempt to stop it if it looks hopeless?
yeah, i'm sorry i could not give more information, my mistake, but at the same times, those questions help me too, but i have a bunch of answers :P
1: the main idea, is the party probably will gather an army in order to stop it
2: mostly every corpse in the place turn into an undead,
3: ... this one i'm not sure if your talking about the undead or the people who what to deal with them :P in any case, undead will be serving the blackest knight in his conquest and their lords
4: that's a very good one... i never thought in that
5: old fashioned way i guess? :P
6: the main idea, is that they still don't know what or who is this blackest knight they only know that it seems to be a very powerfull being and they have to stop his ... awakening, but they don't have idea of what's blackest knight plan is they have to find out, also, they don't know it's helpless

It was pretty interesting cuz it was basically a party of min/maxers so i didnt even really need to think too hard on making them difficult lol. I just gave them better gear. It was cool for the party to fight their former characters very nice indeed, i will take that into a count, in fact, i'm already thinking in killing one of the party members,
i was thinking on artifacts too,
thanks a lot dude ^^

I know, i have one, a kobold titan mauler, afortunally my master allow me to make a fix as long as it has sense and it's not mechanically overpowered so i did :P
here i shared my fix, you can check it

So your next leg of the campaign could be stopping a demon incursion before all the pieces of the armor are joined. For added fun involve the Silent Dawn but make the agent that joins up with the party corrupt and have them secretly working to resurrect the Blackest Knight.
i like the idea of the armor being part for a greater artifact, really cool idea
and the idea of another small faction created in order to stop him and erase any evidence of his existence is very good indeed ^^
something i forgot to add, something that is a big part of the plot, but still i have time to change it, it's that this knight it's looking for an artifact called, "the cradle of the death" wich will make every creatrue who died rise as an udead (skeletons, vampire, lich, ravager, every undead creature of the bestiaries) making him some sorte of king of the undead and he will lead his legions against every living thing, if the party don't stop it, (wich is also very tempting) the mythic campaign will start in this undead apocalypse setting
once again, thanks for taking your time in reading the post, and more important to help me with this, really, it helpe me a lot ^^

THank you ^^
i don't know anything about the whispering tirant, i will take a look ^^
And yeah, i already have thought that he might be a minion of the horsemen, and that his only mission to prepare the world for his master and all tipes of undead

Other factions- a good church comes to mind, but benevolent noble, a righteous knightly order, or other "nice guy"...
WOW, just THANK YOU MAN; this is very complex, the idea of other faction, and working with false information is really really tempting! i love it! seriously dude thanks a lot, this will be of great help! the war of faction is also very tempting,
Something i forgot to ad (my bad) it's that in the final encounter with the Blackest knight, there is the possibility that the party loose the combat, and unable to stop the knight, he will bring some sort of undead apocalypse, , if that happen, we can say the mythic campaign start
again, thanks a lot for taking your time to answer and give me such amazing material to work ^^
Sanjiv wrote: I like the little bit of rage and flavor that Titan Mauler might bring, given the racism this character might've experienced from characters larger than himself. Can I use Jotun Grip to dual wield heavy crossbows as part of my switch-hitting rotation? yeah, sorry, but you can't, in the errata specify that jotun grip only works with melee weapons
in the case of multiclassing with monk, well, yuo might have a few troubles with the alignment restriction that will not allows you to take the levels of monk, but, there is the martial artist archetype of the monk that has not restrictions at all, you lost the ki pool, but you win another bunch of abilities, you should check it
threemilechild wrote: -A Titan Mauler/Shadowdancer might be fun. You'd spring attack out, then scurry-dance back into the shadows. (Since you'll be hiding in plain sight, it won't matter so much that your movement speed is 20, although I'd probably pick up boots of striding & springing when possible.) Seems pretty ratty to me. i just come acroos this post, and just read your post... i never thought in that... thanks! that's an amazing idea, i totally second it
yes you can, since jotungrip specify that the character consider the 2h weapons as one handed, the biggest problems is you have to add another -2 to the twf penalties making them -6/-6 penalties to your primary atacks (considering you have to weapon fighting feat)
i hope it helps
also, if you are interested, there are lots of homebrews in the messageboards fixing some of the biggest problems that this archetype has
totally truth,
in fact, it might work the athame created by the spellblade, is some sort of dagger, but for the purpose of spell combat the hand that hold the athame is considered free, and if you mix that with the hand in the scarf... it might really work, it will hurt at the beginning since the lack of spells but in later levels might not be a problem, the only problem i see is that both archetypes must sacrifice spells (at least with the arcana lord) to recover arcanas, or to create the athame
K177Y C47 wrote:
One other 3rd Party Archetype looks cool and that is the Arcana Lord. They essentually can trade their spells for more Arcana.
O yeah, the arcanalord, i forgot about it, hum... i might be reconsidering building that npc and make it my pc, could be interesting to play something purely focus on arcanas, i kinda like that
K177Y C47 wrote:
All in all, they seem to be a pretty solid archetype with some interesting flavor. Any Opinions?
Oh! and what other archetypes may or maynot be good to stack with this?
totally agree with you! imagine, you beat a dragon with a scarf... A SCARF, how cool is that! (well, i might be exagerating, but in general, you beat people and monster with a scarf ^^), right now i'm building one, npc,, but i really wanna try it sometime
the teleportation is cool, sadly only scoring a critical
i know the hexcrafter magus can be mixed with the kapenia dancer, so you can have access to some witch hex
For the inquisitor part, why not look to the heresy inquisition, it will allow you to use your wisdom instead for charisma for intimidate and bluff checks

HELLO EVERYONE!
What was supposed to be something short end up growing to some sort of small campaign, , my party just finish what the first arc, now they will start the second, and my problem is... i don't know what to make them do exactly, i have some ideas but i can think in some ways to make it a bit more interesting that's why i ask for you help, i'm open for all the ideas,
a little bit of the background of it, (afortunally, my party never check the message board so no risk that my players found out about the plot:P)
-----------------------
Adventure summary
-----------------------
- The party is now level 9 and they member are: a fighter/ranger, a sorcerer, a barbarian, a cleric and a ranger
- While the party manage to win the civil war against the dictator and also manage to save kendra who was held as hostage, also stopping the dictator himself, some of the characters still were questioning about some events that where still without answer, even an evil npc manage to escape, promising to have fun with them later.
- After all the troubles, the party start to gather information about 2 artifacts that Andrezy (The dictator) had in his power (and used during the battle) one is a mask that cover only the left side of the face, and the second part is an armor piece of an arm, both cursed.
- The sorcerer try to analyze both objects but his knowledge arcana check wasn't high enough to completely identify them ,so investigating he found some old scroll that talks about something or someone called "the Blackest Knight" (you're more than welcome to make fun of me :P) and seems to be linked to this mask and armor, and they presume there are more pieces of this armor (and they are right)
- One night, while the sorcerer was alone trying to figure out what to do, another party spontaneously appeared in front on him, and take away the arm, kidnaping another npc who help them a lot during the civil war (what they don't know, is that this npc is part of this second party) and the sorcerer manage to escape with the mask. When he reunite with his party he told what happened, and now they next course of action is going to magnimar, (some other clues found by other party members also point to magnimar)
-------------------
Clues and Hooks
-------------------
- An old diary from a former magnimar soldier who has a reward over his head, and seems also to be linked to this Blackest knight (this event is also related to the background story of the fighter who was after the reward)
- The little info that the sorcerer manage to get of both mask and arm and old scroll pointing in someway to magnimar, that seems to be part of a full set
- A divination performed by the fortune teller of the caravan, who give them an individual and group lecture of their future (a very negative for each individual and one ambiguous for the party)
- The cleric also receive an omen from the oracle of her church, a very disturbing one, which seems to be connected to the fortune lecture of the caravan fortune teller
- There is also second party who seems to be gathering the pieces of the armor of this blackest knight. this second party being composed by a caster who stole a very important dagger from the fighter, an orc , the wanted former soldier, a bard who seems to know too much about the players, and hidden in the shadows a rogue that has a second agenda (this rogue specifically is the evil npc who escaped)
--------------
--------------
- The main idea for starting the second arc (but it still can change) is that a old general from magnimar is hiding vital information about this Blackest knight, but he is not willing to reveal it to the public, so first they need that info.... and i can think a good way to make them work for that info. wich danger they will have to overcome, combats, dungeons, traps etc, i'm not saying i have no idea, it's just i can't think in a good way to start the second part rather than "we're going to inflitrate the army kidnap the general and tell us what he know or where to find the documents!" , may be someone can point me in some direction or recomend wich module or campaign could i use as reference or idea.
- Also, this Blackest Knight we can say is going to be the main villain of the rest of the arc, a very powerful antipaladin grave knight (a custom graveknight who need all his parts in order to completely regenerate, cr 14 to 18 depending on the case). His existence was hidden from the public because of his atrocious acts which involve a direct participation of this general, also this knight has in mind to unleash a powerful mayor artifact that he could not use previously, in order to bring devastation, apocalypse and all that stuff and the party has to stop him. Something i would like to do, but seems quite dificult, or at least i can't think in a way to make it work, is to make the party fear him, even when he is no around, and since this villain can't do much since he need all the parts of his armor, he can take possession of the body of someone who dare to wear any piece of his armor, or wield any of his weapons (the armor is also some sort of artifact in itself). But if i can't, well, it works anyway
- First THANK YOU for taking time in reading this, i really really appreciate it ^^, and for any feedback, help, hint, suggestion, even criticism you can give me will be very helpful, and to be honest, i would love to read your ideas!
- Secondly. sorry for such long post, i tried to make it as short as possible and keep the main idea and hooks for you to understand, also sorry for any grammar mistake my English it's quite rusty

HELLO THERE! ^^, i know this subject was extremely revised by the community but it's hard to let it go you know ^^U.
With a friend, we where working on a few homebrews for the titan mauler ... mostly coz i'm playing one (a kobold to be precize ^^U)
Our main complain with the archetype is the jotungrip, an as i read in several other post (even in diferent sites), i wasn't the only one who thought that this ability seems to have no synergy with the rest of the class, and the massive weapon, in one hand a very cool concept, but ... after you start to check the rules is quite ineffective
- So my friend and i had an idea and i would love to share it so i can make a proper and balance for this archetype
before saying anything, i know, kobolds are probably the WORST race for a barbarian, but belive me i'm having lot of fun with it, more, since my dm give me an extra boost for the strengh
enough of introductions here is my two cents:
-----
Jotungrip:
At 2nd level, While raging a titan mauler may choose to wield a two-handed melee weapon in one hand. The weapon must be appropriately sized for her, and it is treated as one-handed when determining the effect of Power Attack, Strength bonus to damage, and the like.
This ability replaces uncanny dodge.
Massive Weapons (Ex)
At 3rd level, a titan mauler becomes skilled in the use of massive weapons looted or crafted from her titanic foes. The attack roll penalty for using weapons too large for her size is reduced by 1, and this reduction increases by 1 for every three levels beyond 3rd (to a minimum of -2 when wielding weapons four size categories larger).
At level 6 , while is raging, the titan mauler consider the weapon of one size category larger than him as appropriate for his size
-----
- The main idea is that not only that the titan mauler can use the weapons of one size category larger than him without major problems and in that way, it can synergize well with jotungrip (both while raging in order to keep some control), but also, to keep the mechanic for the archetype simple and close to the original as possible. I read alot of other post with possible fixes for the archetype, but they were... at least for me, this is a very personal opinion... quite complicated and in some cases, hard to follow
- Another idea that we had was, in case that this might seems over powered, that the use of both ability together consume an extra round of rage but seems to much may be at later levels with the titanic rage that already do that
any suggestion are more than welcomed, and thanks for reading! ^^

Is there such an ability? If so where? D&D 3.0/3.5 and Pathfinder material are all allowed.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
hum... they only thing i've seen, i don't know if you're into it, it's the prestige class, golden legionnaire http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/prestige-classes/other-paizo/e-h/golden-leg ionnaire
HaraldKlak wrote: I think you should reconsider the 'no intimidate'-stance. The barbarian is easily going to be a primary damage dealer.
That is normally great, but for a NPC you should consider him doing stuff that make the PCs more awesome, rather than risking to steal their thunder.
I thought the same when i was building it, and i told that to the party, This is the curious part, since most of the party make characters that don't deal good damage... at least in the firt levels and the others are just suport, they asked me to make something to cover them ups with the damage, also, we will rotate the gm, so now i'm an npc, but in the next adventure i'll be a player ^^ (this particular session is some sort of side story from the main campaign i'm mastering,). Also, there is some intresting synergy with the Kobold rogue, since she do de intimidating stuff
BTW thanks for the answering^^

blashimov wrote: I would definitely not go titan mauler and twf. It takes a long time to get the benefits. Why not regular barbarian, or invulnerable rager? Though, if you want your Kobolds to be looting human/medium stuff constantly, this actually makes sense and is kinda fun. I wouldn't even bother with weapon specialization, just fight with whatever the best stuff lying around is! Sword and board? two swords? weird things? punching? who cares!
If it's a kobold, why not go for dragon totem? Ground breaker is only better than knockdown with several people around you, and isn't ally friendly either.
Totally agreed with you with the twf titan mauler ^^U, it take to long and to many feats in order to make it worth, but, i kinda don't mind, as i said, this particular session is more oriented to comedy :P

We already looting items from medium humanoid creatures, and, i thought, hey, almos everything is bigger than a kobold so.... (i was going with twf with jotungrip, ... but i will not hit anything never) and the idea of a kobold beating the crap out of someone just with cestus... or unarmed strike, was kinda fun.
And you were right, the invulnerable ragers is very good, but personally, the only thing i'm still with the Titan Mauler, is coz of two skills, evade reach, and titan rage, jotungrip is a waste, and massive weapos to use human size cestus, and the levels of warrios just to pump up the damage, but anyway, i will check how works with the normal barbarian and ivestigate deeper the dragon totem.
Other recomendation from the other gm, is to use, superior unarmed strike
Onne more time, thanks for reading and for the tips buddy

HI THERE! I'm sort of new at pathfinder, with my friends we are playing and we are having so much fun!
i decide to make some post here since i always end in the message board googleing a question about the game, so here i go
For a campaing i'm mastering, a side campaign, it's more like short adventures, a bit more commedy themed, i make my players to build their clases and some generic backstory, without knowing the race, they will not know what would be until we were on the table, (of course, they agreed with this)
So now i have a party of 5 kobolds (they're faces where priceless when i give them the stats without the name of the race, until they find it)
So now, my kobold(i help them with this NPC) it's a , as the title say, Totem titan mauler fighter brawler, that use cestus and planing to go with the Twf.
I know that this build is a mechanical suicide for the game, but i don't mind really ^^, as i say, i'm having lof of fun with Bolovax (that's his name) or as the party friendly called him "Horny" (he has a lot of horns, five to be exact) we don't mind to play as long as the roll is good, personally, we are not quite fan of the min/max,
----------------------
first his stats
str 16 (i know, this one is impossible, just roll with it)
con 12
dex 15
wiz 7
cha 7
int 10
i'm have the idea to take 4 levels of fighter brawler, in order to get the close control, close combatant, weapon specialization, improve twf, and then keep going with the barbarian (i already have the first level of barbarian and two of the fighter)
not interested in intimidate stuff
For the rage power i have in mind to take beast totem, animal fury, ground breaker, ground breaker greater
Recommendations in order to improve him a bit more?
thanks in advance guys! ^^
