Oh I'd love to play the Skull & Shackles AP! I'm only in one PbP game at the moment, and I'm looking for more to join. Will post back shortly after I come up with a character concept and set up an alias for it.

I do have Skype, but to be honest I'm not sure how well my rather tenuous internet connection will stand up to using it from home. I'm also not very competent in using the program; I think I've used it twice, total. :p

Likewise with Roll20; I made an account there a while ago, but the game I was going to join never got started, so again I'm not that familiar with it. That said, I have to learn sometime.

If it wasn't for my technological incompetence, I'd offer to GM, but I'm certain that I'd muck things up if I tried to do it using online programs or sites with which I am largely unfamiliar.

Ian, are you looking to get together a group via Skype, PBEM, PBP or face-to-face? I'm in Tassie, by the way.

I meant it more as a joke. It would have been a cool visual...a jamacan druid, head wrapped up in a weird creature, with a python on top of it all squeezing tight!

True dat! :)

AFAIK the cloaker would become the grappled and thus loses hold of the druid. I'd see it as the snake pulling the cloaker off of the druid. Grappling was a mess in 3.5 and it can still be a tricky maze of rules in PF.

There are a few fan-made flowcharts floating around to help with grappling in Pathfinder, like this one for example.

Sorry, I was going to use the Channeling rules out of the Wheel of Time RPG and use them instead of Vancian Casting. The rules are flexible enough to allow for fun in throwing spells, but aren't as math intensive as Dynamic Spellcasting.

While the former allows for extreme customization of schools, it's pretty math intensive. So the Channeling system from the WoT RPG is a perfect compromise. Vancian casting is rigid, and I don't see the Shek-Pvar being rigid.

Sorry for the Confusion. :) And yes, we are using Pathfinder.

Hmm... I confess I know literally nothing about 'Vancian casting' either. However I'd love to play a Harnworld game using Pathfinder rules. So, easy answer is, I come up with a non-magic using character. :)

Color me interested, please, GM Elton.

EDIT: Oh, 'Vancian' as in 'Jack Vance', now I get it. :p

This got me excited until I read the bit about changing the Shek-Pvar for Aes Sedai. While I'm a big fan of Harn, I am not familiar with the Wheel of Time books.

Are you proposing to use Pathfinder (with your WoT mods), Harnmaster, or some other game system? That's not 100% clear to me from your posting, sorry.

Okay, since this will be the first PFS character for me, I'd appreciate any feedback from folks here before I go ahead and log it. Stat block for an arcane sorcerer follows. Please rip it to shreds and tell me where I'm going wrong; For a start I should probably swap the Intelligence and Wisdom scores?

I've decided to go for an arcane sorcerer for a first PFS character, provided no-one here has a pre-existing arcane caster they want to bring into play.

Hiya all. Thanks for invite.

Looks like Crypt of the Everflame is the chosen module. Which is great because I know nothing about it. :)

Just FYI though; I've not yet played any PFS modules, so whatever I come up with will be my first PFS character. So if I screw up on anything related to PFS play please be nice, and simply let me know what I did wrong.

As for characters I have a preference for playing sorcerers or barbarians, but I do have an idea for an oracle with the life mystery and channeling ability. But I'll happily fill out any role needed in the party.

Dotting for interest. I haven't yet had an opportunity to do any PFS games, either in RL or via PbP. Would love to join an AP on these forums as part of starting up a PFS character.
