Hi everyone,
I am about to run the fourth chapter of Second Darkness, Endless Night, as a stand-alone module. I am in a group in which we DM alternatively, and we were in a mood for an infiltration into drow territory, and it seems that this module is really good for that. Unfortunately, we don't have the time to start the whole campaign - besides, the characters are already 14th level. I precise that we play 4e, but the conversion shouldn't be too difficult. We play in the Forgotten Realms, but once again, converting Endless Night for this setting shouldn't be that hard.
So, I'm wondering what exactly I, as a GM who did not read the 3 first modules, need to know about the story to make an interesting adventure, and what the players are supposed to be told at the beginning.
And, finally, if those who have played/are currently playing the campaign have advice as to how to convert this in a stand-alone module, I will be very grateful. My idea was very simple: make the elves ask for rescue for already quite well-known heroes. I could assume that the battle occuring at the end of the 3rd module just took place, and the elves would tell the PCs what happened, and ask them to do the job.
Thanks everyone!
