Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Contrary to popular belief, Frakdar is not going to wear a hula skirt in this entrance.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Trying to, just got started two weeks ago. Temple of Elemental Evil

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Gives me more time to figure out the whole DMing thing.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

I'm good, not a lot of prep for a monk.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Frakdar looks from Torgus to Gorak and then back: That is too bad. I can imagine you increasing your repertoire, to include the Falling Ogre, the Flying Elf, and of course the ever popular Goblin Bowling. Seems they would go well with the Orken Shield.

You are unsure whether the typically stoic dwarf is being honest or showing a lighter side.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Problem with the Amulet is that it is pretty much double the price of an equivalent weapon.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

As they are watching, Frakdar turns to Gorak:

Do you have the ability to make one of us grow to huge size like that duegar Frakdar practically spits the name, you can hear the disgust in his tone did in the last fight? It would be fun to enable super Torgus to strike out with his long arms and not allow anyone to close while the rest of us protect his flanks.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

While I would love to see how the Masters fight the elements, I do believe that scouting our future opponents would be the most prudent choice.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Yes, lets see what styles our future competitors are expected to use. We shall keep winning, thus, we shall have to defeat all the other winners.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Appraise: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Frakdar looks at the statue.

I have not seen anything like this. Anyone know what it is worth?

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Durham nods his head: Agreed.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Bah, his chosen students failed, now he is seeking to poach the champions from Master Gond.

I look at Gorak: Nothing personal, but I could never train with one such as he. From his garb and movements and his disciples methods, it is clear that his techniques are birthed in the raw savagery of his forefathers.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

I look up at the half-orc. I chose Master Gond because he is one of the most skilled trainers in the art of perfecting the self.

Why did you NOT choose Gond?

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Bah - you are only in 5 - I have 12, before the ToEE gets going. Ok, so I am probably insane, but that is a minor technicality.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

I am sure I am going to regret this, but here is the Temple of Elemental Evil Recruitment thread - have fun.

Temple of Elemental Evil Recruitment.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Frakdar carefully watches the orc for any outward signs that might betray his intentions.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Frakdar watches the half-orc for a moment.

You all see that orc in black and red? I think he has been trailing us for a while, I am hurting, but do we want to follow him?

The Brawling Bear stands over them spitting the rest of the blood into the air then looks down at them as the crimson shower falls onto them. "SO YOU QUIT AFTER WE BREAK BOTH OF YOUR SHIELDS! BWAHHAHAHA!" He then looks to the crowds and asks them, "WHAT SAY YOU AUDIENCE, SHOULD WE ACCEPT OR FINISH THEM?!!! EITHER WAY THE BEAR WHEN WINS!!!" After that he gives a huge roar!

Intimidate:1d20+11

Either way the Bear when wins???

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Frakdar walks over and looks down at the no longer huge duegar, you can see a combination of emotions, hatred among the main ones, cross his face.

If we met in other circumstance, I might not accept your surrender. But this is a competition and I shall accept.

Frakdar then steps back and awaits the other's responses.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Despite the beating he just took, Frakdar steps toward the giant dark dwarf and unloads a series of kicks and elbows at one of the giant's knees.

5-foot step to E8.

Attack-FOB: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Attack-FOB: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Snake Style-Sense Motive(crit confirm): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20 <-- vs Crit (I assume 20 is an auto hit, so this is against the crit confirm)

Snake Style-Sense Motice(unarmed): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26

Frakdar senses the super-duergar turning toward him. Unfortunately he just barely is unable to dodge to first vicious kick, but manages to duck, more out of pain from the first kick, and avoids the second pummeling fist.

HP: 9/37 - 28 damage total.

Round 4
Waiting on what the rest of the group do, I am up, but hurting.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Rofl - yeh, I noticed that. A lot of the pics are not the sex you would think. One of the most popular halfling pictures is also female. I happen to be an outsider of some sort.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Want to wait on Torgus, but will post.

Round 3
Frakdar 5-foot moves to D9 and then unloads on the Orc at D10.

Attack-FoB: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 1 = 25
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Attack-FoB: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 1 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

If the D10 orc is dead from Torgus' attacks then I will not make any 5-foot move and will attack the C-9 orc instead.

Come on ya orcs and drow dwarf, just try to hit me.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Remember all, together we win, divided we fall. Gorak and Cassadar, surround your foe. Torgus, get behind this orc. If we keep fighting divided, we will lose. And Javi, get back here, against two you are in trouble.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

I cannot see the Updated Map, all I get is the top left corner - in other words I can see the green orc and 1/2 of the duergar. But nothing to the right of the duegar or below them.

Round 2
I move and hit the Half-orc in Chain assuming I can get to him with a 5-foot step. If not, I move to hit anyone that I can with a 5-foot step trying to set up a flanking if possible. As I mentioned, I cannot get the maps to load, so I am not sure where I am and who is near me. I prefer attacking someone already hurt.

Attack-FOB: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 1 = 17 <-- extra +1 from racial hatred (orcs)
Damage:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Attack-FOB: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 1 = 25 <-- extra +1 from racial hatred (orcs)
Damage:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Hit 'em when they're up, hit em when they're down.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Shouldn't that be Lightning 'em up?

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Bear - shift up and to your right, we can flank and tank your orc.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Frakdar is LN - he does things in an organized structured manner. At the same time, if you can take out the caster, all the better. I just do not want them to get one of us surrounded and take him out.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Round 1

Close ranks all, don't let em flank us, concentrate attacks to take em down one at a time.

I 5-foot move to C10 and ready and action to make an attack.

Attack-Readied Action: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Also, I am using Snake Style, so if someone attacks me, here is the Sense Motive to replace AC.

Current AC: 18+3(Mage Armor Potion)=21 <-- only +3 due to Bracers/Mage Armor duplicating
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
--> AC=21 for this round. If there are 2 attacks on me, I will make a second Sense Motive roll.

DM VoV:

In the future, do you want me to preemptively make the Sense Motive checks, or just make rolls when the enemy gets attacks that beat my AC. If the latter, I will make the checks whenever I see an attack hitting and will resolve the Sense Motive check at that time. --> this is from the Snake Style feat.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Should be 150 each, no reason for you to be paying for this. Once everyone agrees, add 600 back to your money and we should each deduct 150 apiece.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19 <-- Missed it by that much.

I will take one of the orcs. Never liked them much.

I step into the circle across from the black cloth handed half-orc.

I enter the Snake Style and then carefully analyze the enemy trying to discern what his first move will be.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28

As a note, with snake style, I can make an Immediate Action to use a Sense Motive roll in place of my AC or touch AC.

I also quaff a potion of Mage Armor raising my AC to 21 for the next hour.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Frakdar grimaces as he sees Cassadar sit far from the Kellid and realizes that he had accidentally sat within Torgus' food consumption splash zone.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Sounds good by me. I bought a few CLW potions as well as potions of Mage Armor, Shield and Magic Fang. With the Mage Armor, I will be AC 21, 25 for a short time with the Shield. Figure I will make a tough target.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

I am not skilled in the use of any wands. I did purchase some potions to help in combat - and with healing when necessary.

As far as the poison goes, I am not a proponent of using such . . . methods. I do not know whether it is legal in this land, or in this combat, but I personally would not favor the use of such dark tools.

And congrats on the baby.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Frakdar sits and calmly eats the provided breakfast. He the finds a quiet place where he meditates and prepares for the day's events.

I was up for some Orc chasing, but nobody else posted anything, so it fell off my radar.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Torgus could give him a Bear Hug.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

DM VoV:

Since I seem to have never bought anything with the initial 6k WBL for level 4, this is what I would like, please let me know if it works.

Initial 6k:
Headband of Inspired Wisdom +2 --> 4,000
Cloak of Resistance +1 --> 1,000
Bracers of Armor +1 --> 1,000

1,500 Note:
Potion of CLW(CL1) x5 --> 250
Potion of Mage Armor(CL1) x3 --> 150
Potion of Magic Fang(CL1) x2--> 100
Potion of Shield(CL1) x2--> 100

Money remaining: 900

Well all, that was a fine meal. But, I wonder why that half-orc in black keeps following us. Seems to me that he is likely up to no good, should we go and ask him why he is trailing us?

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

All I know is that if you start to tweet play by play updates, Frakdar will decide that the breach of etiquette is so severe that only elimination of you from reality is a sufficient punishment.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

I will recheck my wealth, I am sure that I should have something, really confused as to why I do not. Should have some purchases before the weekend is over. Headed back home today, so I should be back on a regular posting schedule this week.

Javi the Wasp wrote:

Hey, just a heads up. My wife is about to burst with pregnancy. So if my posting becomes suddenly erratic or sporadic, that's probably what's up.

If it holds up the game, feel free to play me however is needed. I'll try to give a more specific heads up when it happens, though.

Just make sure that she know she has to schedule the whole labor thing around your regular posting times. I am sure that will win you brownie points.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Were we supposed to have started with anything? I seem to have 170gp to my name which seems a little low and no magic at all. I could have sworn that I had something magic at some point.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

I want a ring that will make me big an strong and covered in unruly hair just like my hero Torgus.

I have not had the time to think about new magic items this week. Hopefully over the weekend I will have more time.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Frakdar simply eats the food and watches others and the room, once again attempting to ignore the Champion of Ball-in-wood.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

As a note, I will be away from home for the next week. Should be able to post in the morning and evening, but there are no guarantees. If I miss a day and am holding something up, please have someone post for me. I doubt I will miss a day, but one never knows being in the road.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Frakdar quietly accepts the food but eats little as it is spicier than he prefers.

When Torgus begins requesting his first course of women, Frakdar simply shakes his head and continues to scan the room attempting to avoid looking at the oddly dressed patrons or the lord of lilac.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Frakdar quietly follows the others into the establishment, carefully scanning the area for any threats.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

Unfortunately the absurdity of the colors and outfits keeps catching his eye.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

I turn to Javi: Reminds me of a peacock . . . just before it is slaughtered for the feast.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Frakdar looks from the Bear to Morthar and back again while shaking his head.

I imagine any enemies not already laughing at our buffoon companion will be killed by this travesty of fashion.

Male Dwarf(Ouat Caste) Monk of the Four Winds/5

Bluff: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Frakdar almost chokes and then bursts out laughing at the absurdity of the whole scene.

Rofl - I read this and missed the "in", so it read as: "Javi takes the bottles, the captain, and the woman." -- Was wondering what he was going to do with them.
