Graxlo quickly learned that knowledge and the arcane were the only true ways to power, and he would have left when he came of age if not for one thing: his brother Angus. Angus was everything the temple wanted him to be, and Graxlo was disgusted by him. However they came to terms, and even though Graxlo still never cared much about the temple, he still went through the motions to make Angus happy. He spent what time he could outside, exploring the wilderness and studying his books. Then one day he was locked up in his room experimenting with some sort of arcane power, the bishops son came knocking on his door. Despite Graxlo's protests of the delicate situation, he barged into the room. This broke Graxlo's concentration and the magic went awry, blinding the bishop's son. Graxlo did everything he could, but his brother had always been a better healer than him. They beat him within an inch of his life and sent him to be a Korvosa guard to work off his debt. Despite the harsh lashing, Graxlo is secretely a little pleased to be out of the temple, but still feels bad for his brother. Now when he's not on guard, he spends his time doing odd jobs like helping out merchants transporting magical items.
