Back within the forest Fluff Fang does their best to support and share with the others leshies, both new and old. They do all they can to allow others to turn over a new leaf and find new fertile ground for their futures. Fluff Fang is immensely grateful for such a wonderful end to a story because of how many new stories are just beginning.
This isn't the first elegant party Fluff Fang has been ejected from, but is still surprised how quickly the affair had crumbled. Fluff Fang gives a deep bow while using one of their hands supporting Summer and avoid them falling. "It would be our pleasure. There are a vast number of places within the world and I'm certain there is a space for you. But, know that we will always welcome you within our home." "Now, I will admit though, even limited to this garden, I'm ecstatic to hear the stories you can tell." Fluff Fang offers a leaf and a smile as they continue, "and I am just as happy to share some of the tales of both Taldor and the world beyond."
"That is most definitely not a heroic gesture Summer. Still I can't chastise you hard given the tribulations you had been dealt." Fluff Fang checks on the safety of Summer before turning to other matters. Fluff Fang joins with Jackpot in casting a healing spell to tend the damage dealt to leshies they were battling a minute ago.
Being more careful of tossing their cape recklessly with Summer, "as my friend said, we don't come for you or you home, just to rescue our friends. You were always free to tell and share your stories, but not to take those of others." "If you want entertainers, then there are plenty to take on that role, but your manor is already among the most exemplary of the land, especially those I've seen. However, leshies are free to choose their own roles in life; we can take upon any role and more. It is a sad spectacle to see other cast to roles as mere servants or decorations."
"Then you can learn more! If there is one thing that even humans know about leshies is that their plants and they can grow." Fluff Fang takes the bottle with the captured leshy and withdraws to the end of the garden. Working at the seal they then open to button to free their friend.
Rushing to the table looking to rescue the leshy, Fluff Fang calls out to the freedom of all. With a surge of magic they launch one of the plates at Honeysuckle.
Once more free, Fluff Fang gives a quick blessing to heal the injured Chef Popcorn with a poem about perseverance.
The short interlude over, Fluff Fang steps into the conversation with Bamboo as they declare, "gratitude? Certainly have gratitude, but that doesn't mean you need to follow their commands. We are all free spirits and can see for ourselves how we can support out kin, the land around us, and country!" Fluff Fang goes forward toward the table and the other trapped leshy while trying to straighten the cloak. "We can achieve more learning from those before us, but not if we live with our heads bowed to the ground!"
Fluff Fang struggles to escape the hold of Mint. In the back of their mind they have been able to push away the crushing fear as they hold their breath and continue trying to punch a hole through the prevalent perennial. However, as they hear the calls and cries of battle and the back and forth between the fighting flora, at the forefront and drive at Fluff Fang's swings is that they are missing all the plot development on this story!
They stab forward with the rapier and attempt to push their way through in the wake of their attack.
As the leaves begin so surround Fluff Fang, they try to push further back to avoid missing a beat in this story.
They aren't able to break free of the narrative's grasp as they vanish into the mass of mint. Fluff Fang struggles to escape but finds the greenery to be seemingly endless. Drawing their rapier to hand they hold their breath as they try to pierce through the veil of vegetation.
Glancing at the crowd Fluff Fang thinks for a moment as they give a cast back their cape with a flutter. "Well I would not describe them so lightly my prestigious Lady." Gesturing to the tables Fluff Fang note, "their capabilities may yet surpass your expectations. Like anything else they just need the right resources, encouragement, and of course, opportunity to step forward and flourish." Fluff Fang gestures at the tables to covertly deliver their impressions of the guests and chance they may be willing to aid covertly. Heading to the table without a leshy, Fluff Fang says, "this looks to be a excellent place to start as this table feels so austere so lacking a centerpiece an so set apart from the flourishing gardens that surround. If they watch the expert performance before them, they must miss the beauty of the curated flora that are just behind their backs as well as being too far away to savor the fragrant scents that come from long and far away." Fluff Fang goes around the table making dramatic motions at they gesture from one side of the garden to another. They head to the garden's edge as they get close to the exotic flowers and closely point to several of the flowers as they try to draw attention to the far side from the garden away from the two leshy filled tables.
"I've known these leshies to travel the forest my honorable Lady. You well have performed the presentation, but these poor things are not your creation. There is artistry in what you do, and they well may have played their part in your work if you asked, but the prisons of glass make a very poor display my wonderful Lady." Fluff Fang says this as they toss their cape back and present to the crowd as much as Constance.
Joining with the others Fluff Fang adds, "absolutely. While your skills at party-craft are certainly unmatched in their field, it would be a travesty to turn down the skill of a skilled florist and we are by certain the best." Fluff Fang gives a bow as they affirm, "anyone who claims otherwise is a mere posy poser." With a flit of their cape they say, "those pieces are far too small for a glorious gala like the one you are portraying. To leave now having seen them would be a travesty upon my spirit and I could certainly not allow it. Replacing them with flourishing flora of fabulous fragrances would delight all and properly portray your parties."
"Florists seems like a wonderful idea. Although certainly more ghastly given my run-ins with a few looking to remove some weeds as they might say." Fluff Fang postures a bit as they look through their bag as they consider, "I might not have any disguise on hand, but a florist is more of a state of mind." They are a bit less certain as they finish that, but they pull out one of their thieves tools that could pass for a cutting tool at a glance to have at their side as they ready to saunter into the party.
"I would admit the story would have been far more grand with an explosive entrance." Fluff Fang puts aside their picks with a bit of regret. "An entrance like Chef Popcorn describes though may just be as good if not better as it will allow the tension to build as the heroes move into the gala." Fluff Fang thinks for a moment as they suggest, "If that plan doesn't appeal to your themes Scary Gourd I might suggest, possibly selfishly, suggest we present ourselves as entertainment." Giving a flip of their cape to try to emphasize their color Fluff Fang continues, "maybe even from a traveling circus? There is a great deal of variety of entertainment or confections we might fit under that tent as it were. As long as we don't let the story languish at least."
"This feels much unlike the cities I've shared with you myself. The streets I have traversed in my various missions were more akin to Petalbrook." Fluff Fang thinks on this a bit as they give a wavering of their hand as they consider. "Maybe with a few less flowers and twice as many bricks." "I felt a hand more comfortable when we were creating such attention.
Fluff Fang leans one way then the other as they try to get a good angle on the hedge wall and the others as they approach. "I have some experience in gaining access in places where I wasn't necessarily welcome, a number that I hope has decreased over the years but those lessons may prove themselves now." Giving a bit of a bow as they step forward Fluff Fang says, "if you allow me to take the spotlight for a moment. I might at least gauge the strength of their locks" Pulling a set of lockpicks, Fluff Fang searches the area carefully as they examine the gate before clamboring onto the hedges to get better access to the gate's mechanisms.
"I hope you have learned not to steal away from the forest. Usually the stories go the other way, but still turn out for the same ill consequences. Hopefully you learn and know that there is a lovely community around you to join with and not worry about invitations to posh parties packed with political posturing." Fluff Fang joins the others in heading out as they concur, "it is tempting to end this now, but a rest would be helpful. Especially given the journey we need to make to get to the manor. Walking in with our leaves, stems, and roots worn out from our race forward."
"The story has taken a sudden twist. I thought we were at the end of the tale, but we are bound for another act." Fluff Fang nods with agreement of the others in the group as they toss back their cape and declare, "it seems our friends are in another manor. Let's continue there and see if we can return them safely!"
"Well I'm sorry for Hammer and Dragonfly. Still we fight to save our friends and hope you can help us. You can tell Jackpot and the others are very much broken up about this. I would like this to be a happier sort of tale." Fluff Fang pulls their cowl close as the keep near Darius and Jackpot. "I'm sure things can be brought better again if you help us. Where does Lady Constance reside? Do you know why she couldn't just send an invitation into the woods for them to join?"
"You are very good with that flail Popcorn. It makes sense though given how quickly you got that bridge built. You are great at building things up, brining things down, and cooking things through!" Fluff Fang joins Jackpot in accusing Darius, "you were spraying a lot of wax before, now it is time for you to unleash some answers. Why did you take our friends?"
Fluff Fang is able to put their thoughts toward plotting to a rest for a moment as they dash into the room. "Weaponized wax? Both in making minions and in your spray? Is it only a tool to hurt, can't you find some good use for it? Maybe if you stopped putting teeth on candles, maybe you could have been a friend!" Fluff Fang is going to work magic to soothe the pain from the deluge of wax that was dealt to Entropy. The bits of song relieving a bit of the pain.
Fluff Fang admires Scary Gourd's new sparkling addition with a nod. They is follow behind the party as they mutter to themselves about if they should make the story of the singing gems into a wholly new tale or if it still fits with the current story they are building. In their pondering about passing and plot, Fluff Fang is slow to leap into combat.
I absolutely understand all of that and you can take whatever you need ot get the blahs away. Do what you need to, but I will let you know that I still love this game and I have been having a great time.
"Alright, that humming does seem a bit too ominous, but maybe..." Fluff Fang trails off as they wave their hand a moment before beginning a melodic cadence. "When we delved deep below the shop, we found crystals singing a song of doom and gloom." They wave their hands while drawing magical signatures in the air, trying to use the bardic magic to take control of the tones resonating within the crystals toward a less destructive end. Slowly changing their singing pitch, "with a careful step and a trembling voice, we told the crystals the reason we came, the friends we had lost, and the crystals singing changed..."
Fluff Fang gives a bow to Galan before heading into the basement room, navigating around the perimeter heading to the table with crystals. They take a look up and over the table and study the crystals, focusing on the largest. Fluff Fang's mouth moves silently as they write the plot of this delve into the mysterious basement. "Do you think these crystals could have led them to our forest and to capture our friends?"
"We even found jasmine candles in the forest too," Fluff Fang gestures with a spin toward the shops jasmine scented air. "It isn't common and there is so much here." Fluff Fang gives a flip of their cape and puffs out their chest as they declare, "I promise by my honor I'll do all I can to support you. I have seen many people have jobs and I'm certain I can find you another. However, we only have so many friends and we don't want to lose them."

Fluff Fang works with Chef Popcorn in attempt to to try to persuade Galan with a overly affable demeanor compared to Popcorn. Fluff Fang postures themselves to look small and keep a step behind Popcorn as they explain, "I would suggest you don't take offense. Today has been quite a grand journey, fixing broken bridges, searching discarded campsite, contending with insatiable herbivores, and putting on an impromptu show. All of this for a number of our friends who have gone missing." "We have had a good deal of fun with some of it," Fluff Fang says as they gestures apologetically. "Even with new stories through, the fate of our friends weigh heavy on all us. The tale so far leads to Darius and we would love to go to him without delay. I dare say we don't need to cause trouble to do that right that, right?"
If fail, Hero Point: It unfortunately has been a while since Fluff Fang has attempted to coerce someone while looking up so far.
Fluff Fang beings with a disarming bow as smile as they introduce themselves. Following that Fluff Fang declares, "I will admit we came here not for interest in purchases, but seeking Darius. The story that has lead us here in the hope of helping our dear friends and charges." "If I may be as bold to ask, who are you?"
"To tell a story is a grand enough reason to go on any journey," Fluff Fang gives a bow and flip of their cape as they smile proudly. "Thank you for your compliments and your help." Fluff Fang looks toward their friends and says, "not a very courteous neighbor, but I agree we should head to his shop and see to it this story has a happy ending."
Fluff Fang gives an exaggerated bow to the small child. Giving a wave to those around they try to settle concerns and build on the excitement lingering within the watchers. "Please, give me leave to present our stories that grow from the woods. Tales of terrific talents and courageous cooperation. Once you heard a few tales you will know the good deeds and spirits that dwell within our foliage."
Fluff Fang bounces about describing various tales from within the woods. One where the faeries flit over the river, but ultimately were aided by Popcorn's bridge when their wings grew too tired. Another involves leshies being stalked by hungry beasts only to be saved by a noble lion driving them off. They forget themselves for a bit as they get into the stories. Their gestures become more wild and flamboyant in order to be seen by the much longer townsfolk.
"Excellent work! The skill shown is a perfect focus for the tale once it comes time to tell it." Fluff Fang flips their cloak of leaves over their shoulders as they look around. Considering Scary Gourds comments for a moment. Fluff Fang picks up the broken twig and examines it as they say, "there are less branches along the trails within villages. Although there are no less obstacles and barriers that would make us quite apparent as we search. I do agree that we should enter the town and see about persuasion rather than creating stealthy diversions."
"Oh deer," sighs Fluff Fang as they break the branch. Their mood picks up though as they realize, "that would be a wonderful turn of phrase to lighten the story in this dangerous moment!" As one approaches and snaps at Scary Gourd Fluff Fang mood becomes more controlled as they calm themselves, "my apologies, you are the focus Scary Gourd, do your best to calm them."
"I would happily lead in a dramatic scene where we sneak forward, but I admit I like to see about making friends with these creatures of the woods."
Stealth:
Fluff Fang pauses to ponder for a moment before noting, "I wouldn't say unfriendly, but not the friendliest I think. Temperaments can vary so much. If pressed I'm sure they would love a story. Everyone loves a good story." "As for them,", Fluff Fang says nodding toward the deer. "I can join along sneaking past, but only because I'm much worse at swaying the woodland creatures than many of you. They would make great friends if they weren't going to nibble on my cape."
"I would not be me to deny anyone the grandest of stories," Fluff Fang says to glimmer with a grandiose bow. * * * * Seeing Scary Gourd's warning, Fluff Fang immediately halts on Scary Gourds command and takes a knees to avoid sight of the deer. Fluff Fang whispers back, "excellent spot. I was so focused on the tracks, I missed the rest of the setting." Gesturing toward the village, Fluff Fang indicates, "that is the town of Petalbrook. A nice name although I know of many places within the woods that have a brook surrounded by petals. I've listened in to this village a few times. Stories trickle down from person to person and I'm there to make sure to catch them." "I'm certain I could draw some bit of news from the townsfolk by listening in and watching them speak. It is how I've found a great many secrets in my time. Even then I would turn down a direct approach if we want to talk to the folk. Find one that might be willing to tell us every story we need."
"My apologies Glimmer for not being able to grant you a new tale today. I promise once I get back I will give your fill for the information you have granted us." Kneeling toward the ground and gesturing toward the broken toys Fluff Fang says, "I was becoming direly worried this would be far more tragic tale. Now though it is a mystery; why would a human bear such an awful style and what would he want with a bag full of leshies?" Standing alongside Chef Popcorn, Fluff Fang clarifies, "Actually, more an adventure-mystery. For we will get them back. They should be easy to find. That description is fairly unique for most humans."
And I bring two as well.
Pondering on Glimmer, Fluff Fang speaks aside to no one as they pontificate to the non-animate shrubbery, "A trickster presents themselves to our heroes. Despite their prankish nature, their knowledge very well may serve key in guiding the rescue of the missing leshies. With an open hard the heroes asked offered introductions to the newest travels and to the location of the missing leshies." Turning toward Glimmer, Fluff Fang declares with a bow and a flourish, "it is an opportune time for our meeting Glimmer. Forgive me for not having stories to regal you with the exploits of our new friends Scary Gourd and Entropy. We only met the morning and our day has been filled with less shared stories and, instead, a looming adventure with dire stakes." Seconding Popcorn's question, Fluff Fang adds, "did you see the souls that took the chance to camp here? We believe they have not only the Shades, but several other young leshy buds for some unknown and nefarious purpose."
"Oh this a far more villainous tale than any I would have told. I had thought it was only the Shades, but there are even more leshys that have been taken?" Fluff Fang pulls takes hold of one of the shells as they note, "a fiend has taken so many leshy for some nefarious collection. I can only hope they are safe." Following Popcorn, Fluff Fang strides forward with blade ready, "you are right Popcorn, we must go forward with all haste."
"Good catch. Clues lead to more clues as our heroes follow the trail." Fluff Fang follow behind Scary Gourd, trying to help investigate the campsite. "Whomever pass through didn't know much about hiding the trails. I don't know why they want candles here. If they have big campfire, what would they use smaller candles for?"
Wonderful!
"I don't have much sense for the trails left, but there are lots of differences once you look for them. Like lilies to dandelions, both growing free in the wild." Fluff Fang attempts to look over the prints themselves, but quickly concedes failure as they opine, "maybe they were looking for the Shades to help them. I don't know what other reason why they would come into the forest for the Shades. It is a mystery in the plot on why or who cut Comeback Bridge down."
Fluff Fang gives a smile as they toss back their cape when presented with Jackpot's question. "I do cherish music and the feelings evoked, but I admit my instrument is my word and tale. I've learned a few instruments when playing in the city, but I am a teller of tales much like you! I love telling stories for heroes and their valiant tales! I'm curious to see one of your performances; what is your favorite play Jackpot?" Fluff tries to remain resolute and brave in the face of the fate of the Shades. "And I do hope this tale is one we can perform later." Focused the the prints and then Scary Gourd, Fluff Fang shakes their head, "more humans by my count. There are others from around find their way through the forests. Most pass by as we keep the little ferns and buds out of their path."
"I do agree, we may need a bit of tension building as the adventure pushes forward, but it will need to end on an upbeat tone with the success of the heroes!" Fluff Fang tips their blade form side to side along with the beat as they follow along. "Your skills strike quite a chord! It is more than forituitous that you have arrived. My knowledge of cobblestone trails and muddy alleys, but you are able to find every step along the paths that have taken the pair away!"
Fluff Fang is speaking aloud already trying to build the tale in their mind. "The heroes began our journey through the forest, but before long they were faced with their first test. Comeback bridge was broken and torn, they found that the vines were shorn." They stand back and watch as Popcorn proceeds to mend the bridge. Fluff Fang smiles as they watch the pieces come together. "Popcorn knew exactly what to do, if she could build one bridge then she could build two!" Attempting to help, Fluff Fang tries to put a bit of their general skill to try to help Popcorn.
"That was an incredible job Popcorn! This is a perfect display of inspiring talent. Lets keep going though. The Shades should still be ahead!"
"Do not be dismayed Popcorn. We will craft you a new bridge and it will carry on the legacy set forth with your first bridge. Although you may wish to leave out the bit on the flaming flail." Fluff Fang glances around and nods with agreement on the appraisal of the others. "Or at least lead to a moral at the end. We don't want to teach the seedlings to go chasing after each other with fire, weapons or both." "If the Shades, Summer and Willow were on the other side, they would have had a troublesome time getting back after the dastardly demolitionist destroyed the passage. This may the reason why they couldn't find their way back, but even then I would have hoped they return here." Gesturing with grass blade across the river, Fluff Fang declares, "such trials are a common occurrence in any great tale. We need to cross the river quickly so we may still have a chance upon the trail!"
Fluff Fang takes their full attention to Sunbright and kneels down low to comfort her. "Settle your petals, if is fine to be cautious rather than press forward alone, you did the right thing to come to us. In the stories I've told you, even the greatest of heroes work along many friends. I will do all I am able to return Summer Shade and Willow Shade safe and sound." Looking at the others and turning with a look of resolute confidence Fluff Fang says, "I admit I had no hint of story of the direction we might take, but it seems Sunbright has given us the lead that will begin this tale. If you may offer your twigs, brambles and wit to our aid today."
"I only hear tale of fiendish flames, but I have yet to get the chance to test my blade against their source or tell the harrowing deed of another performing the same." Fluff Fang gives a bow to Scary Gourd and Jackpot as they say, "I am Fluff Fang and it is a pleasure to have your enter our corner of the forest. My apologies for the lack of singing and music to your arrival but, as you can see from the rustling of leaves and unjoyous whispers throughout, these are troubling times indeed. As Popcorn announced, while we can't give you a proper welcome, your entrance may be fortuitous if you are able to aid us in the resolute rescue of those that have been disappeared into the dark." Gesturing outward, throwing back their cloak Fluff Fang boldly declares, "as it was, this may have been a tale of doom and despair this day, but with your aid I'm certain we can make this a bold tale worthy of celebration and inspiration to all!"
"A glorious day for the continue to shine down upon us and watch our triumphs and successes." A leshy with a mane of golden petals around their head strides forward as they smell the air. "I'm glad to see you are of good health chef, I was concerned for a moment that, based on your calls, that nefarious ne'er-do-wells had infiltrated your kitchen and we would be forced to drive them off!" With a flourish Fluff Fang pushes their cape formed of leaves aside as they take a confident pose. "However, that glory well may need to wait for another day. Unless your concoction is a potion rather than a mere setting to break fast that is."
