Flint walks along, following the group and tossing his belaying pin from hand to hand, enjoying the weight in his grip. He walks a couple steps past the door when Kiril goes to open the door, so he's standing on the far side of the group, the side that faces the unexplored.

"Yea, get it down Kiril. Let's see what's lurking around here!"

"Well, I guess we better be ready to tell the orcs and the gobbos the truth, that this is OUR turf now. If they didn't want to f!*! with the troll, they're not going to want to f#%~ with US."

and to Kiril... "Ooo, I like it. Over by the stairs here?" he taps the map in the lower left corner. "... ... We... Haven't been there already, have we?" He looks at the map, trying to figure out where he is. "This matches up to your map, right Sandy? How do we get there from here?"

"Hobgoblins?!" Flint exclaims, his face making a look of incredulous uncertainty as he inspects the gear of the dead for quality and utility. "Hobbled goblins seem twice-impotent, but sure, keep your eyes out if your worried, I guess."

Flint keeps an eye on Kiril as the doorsbane looks around the large room, but he'll spend some time removing armor from corpses and gathering them and the fallen weapons into one spot for later transport to the party's in-palace base.

Perception while searching bodies: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
I'll roll Disadvantage if I need to, to give priority to Kiril in case he needs help: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Hobgoblins, eh? That could be fun.
Oh, guys, I wanted to chat a bit about utilizing our traveling companions better. Rarely do you get a strong B team of NPCs, I want to suggest that we look for times where we can send them to moderately dangerous areas on their own (If they're cool with it) to help the campaign of taking out this palace. Think like... x-com deployment, we're the main force moving through wiping out this temple. Maybe we can have them research cleared points of interest we don't want to spend too much time on (Talking with the elemental for more info, maybe? Resupplying our gear so we don't have to leave as often? The girls seem to me like they could put up a fight if they were ever random-encountered. I think keeping with us most of the time is cool, but there may be times where we need more mobility.
GDM, would you be cool handling a semi two-pronged assault on your module? :3

Before following Kiril, Flint leans in to Lorelei for a final question. "So you've GOT one, but any you know about in the area? Any old legends describing hidden tools for heroes, just waiting to be uncovered?" the halfling bard suggests, waggling his eyebrows at the kobold. "Danger is no obstacle."

"Ghost, air-elemental..." Flint says, waving a hand dismissively. "Whatever, they fit similar niches in legend. Let's find us some magic teeth to fight with. The kobolds might be able to help point us in the right direction. Maybe we should turn in for the night and gather some info, figure out how to better arm ourselves at solving this dangerous puzzle."

Flint then bobs his head in approval to Brunar and Kiril.

"We'll probably have to fight the other ones." he says, grinning over his work, excited to find some way to fight ghost-things!

He stands, and watches the thing advance. "Hey! Rude!" he says, tossing the writing implement at the shade's face as a reproach.

"A harmless room, lucky." Flint says, sounding a bit too nonchalant as he meanders in. He kneels by the scratched out lettering, contemplative.

"Wonder why only these words were scratched out..." he murmurs, squinting his eyes and thinking.

Can try to remember the proper words to fill the blanks, or try to investigate it to find any hint of the letters scratched out to reconstruct the missing info?

I've placed the items on my character sheet under the GROUP LOOT spoiler for ease of tracking, until we decide who gets what.

Flint looks between the wand Brunar's looking over and the Ring he is holding, wondering which he prefers. After a moment, he decides to let the others express the interest to trade as he'd be happy enough with the ring.

At the locked door, after we choose who gets what items, Flint strokes his hairless chin in thought. "Well, seems to me like I'm winning this little game of dares." He says, grinning confidently before continuing and giving the pair a wink. "That's alright, I already knew the two of you had the courage of small, sickly children." He dares someone to press forward through this door under their own strength.

Flint gathers up the items, and looks over to the other two. He swaggers over, hands full and grin wide.

"Just some things, have a look."

Flint hands Brunar a sheet of parchment (Without him first studying it, just a quick glance to notice writing) and the wand. He hands Kiril two small vials, and examines the ring he found himself.

Flint is worried about the trap destroying whatever is inside, like if the gas is caustic. Can I forgo my dex save, just make the con save, but have the advantage of time when I go to search/retrieve whatever looks important from within?
I imagine instead of flinching when the gas leaks out, Flint would (assuming he isn't unable because of the gas and whatever state it puts him in) just quickly remove the lid, try to find something significant, and leave the cloud as quick as he's able.

I'll roll both checks now, just to get them out of the way. But, if you're cool with the above, assume I' choosing to fail my dex save

Dex save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Con save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

He casts blade ward on himself, just in case, and tries to open it.

Flint yawns, rubbing his eyes as the others talk and rouse him.
"Something trapped? Hmmph!" he sighs, almost pouting. "I tend to let others deal with that sorta stuff. Too many times almost setting off one thing or another, old groups told me to let them take a look first. All that careful prodding and poking, being SAFE and CAREFUL. Boring."

He grins at Brunar and Kiril, smile wide and toothy. "You two don't strike me as the careful type, though. Wanna do somethin' stupid?"

Flint then suggests playing some small game to decide a "loser", and that selected soul will risk setting off whatever trap while the other two encourage and tease from just outside the entrance to the room, ready to duck behind a wall or give aide.

"We can even place bets on what kind of trap it'll be!"

Flint stands casually in place, receiving Lorelei's affections with a confident hug and smile of his own.

"Hey, no problem." He says with a a hint of bravado, despite his singed hair from the exploding skeletons. "But it would be rude of me to decline your hospitality. We just gotta provide our own grub and booze. "

"Push on..." Flint says, giving the kobold woman another grin and turning to face Kiril, and then Brunar. "Push on? Can you do that crazy spirit thing again if we get in a bind? Granted, if I went all out from the start, I bet I could take on two or three of those skeletons by myself."

He swaggers over to the pile of broken pots and gives a glance to the value or renown of anything destroyed, hoping that no art of worth had been destroyed.

Then he gives a glance to Brunar, prepared to follow his lead once more, be it resting here or going on ahead immediately.

Flint grins at Kiril's back pat, and responds with a sharp jab to the half-orc's thigh. (You're four feet taller than Flint! He can't reach your back. xD)

He follows along with the group, his eyes fierce again with Brunar's healing bringing new energy. "So, Brunar. How the heck did you summon up ancient dwarf ghosts?!" Flint says with interest, thinking of how to turn it into a tale.

"im good." he says, before opening the door to Brunar. "all the skellies are gone. I think we're safe."

I WAS going to point out that I'm giving Kiril advantage on attack rolls, but daaaaaaaaaaaamn! Can't do better than a 20. Well, I'm taking half the credit anyway, roll all melee attacks with advantage so long as you aren't using reach anyway (I think).

Flint stays in position and continues to try and feint attack the Skeletons, and getting in their way, giving Kiril Advantage (To any attack roll or skill check he needs to make on his turn that he can assist with)

Flint will fall in beside Kiril after guiding the kids to safety, making sure if any explosions happen then he and Kiril will be the ones to take those dangers.

He assists Kiril on any shoves or attack rolls.

It lasts for 10 minutes and I used them all up on the party before entering the dungeon. Are they still up or have they expired from time?

"Kids! Why do the skeletons care about the key- Wait... QUICK! Get to safety!" he says, urging all of the kobolds to fall back out of the room. "Then we should do the same." he mutters to Brunar and Kiril, not thinking the three of them can deal with 8 exploding skeletons with so much confusion and bystanders in the way.

"Everyone! TO THE DOORS!" he yells out, before moving to the kobold with the key, and ushering her out of the room while putting himself between her and any skeletons.

(Dodging while I do so, unless moving the kobold requires an action)

Confused, for now flint takes the DODGE ACTION (disadv to any enemy targeting me) since he's attracted too much attention from the skeletons, and watches to see what the others are trying to accomplish while he dodge-tanks.

Flint shouts out to the kobold kids. "Whatever it is, bring it here! Bring these piles of burning bones to US!"

Flint will shield Brunar, attacking any skeleton that approaches the dwarf with his club.

Flint runs into the chamber, and then at the scene dumbfounded. "Eh, foamy seas! What's going on here?"

The skeletons weren't behaving like a threat, surely they would attack the kids if they wanted to, it was by their own choice to change direction that they hadn't. It was more like they were interested in something else, something Flint couldn't see.

Yet, there was a dead or dying Kobold woman on the ground. Someone had to have done that to her.

"Hey kids, who hurt her!" Flint says, pointing to the body to try and gain the idea of a clear target.

Insight: 1d20 ⇒ 14

Using my turn to try and gain an idea of just what's going on, how big of a threat the skeletons are, and what their objectives might actually be, by observing the scene carefully for a moment.
If possible, I'll yell out my discoveries to the others so they can act appropriately.

Flint stares off into the collapsing form of bones that used to be a skeleton, his eyes fixed in place for what felt like to him as a solid month. It isn't until Brunar spoke that he managed to shake himself out of it, and grinned.

"Ya, of course I am! You don't think I'm a quitter, do ya?!" he boasts, rushing forward with the dwarf, still clutching his club.
